Recently, I (a cook) carried an order to an executive. He held his finger up to me (a universal "wait a moment" gesture). I waited around 3 minutes. I did the delivery because we were busy and at that moment, I was the only one available to handle his order.

His phone call was just some boasting... he was selling himself to someone (metaphorically speaking). I took his phone off of him and shut if off, demanding his attention. I had things to do.

Long story short, he paid and left.

Executive-ton-field-ville is a whole 'nother section of the zoo - tough to build 'cause execs don't really have a "natural" habitat... it's all contrived and changes with the business climate. And face it, the language of the board room and that of the break room are not even close, so communication between them, which btw depends on 'middle mgmt' arrrggghhhh, became extinct just before the Tower of Babel crumbled. No offense to either species, but does "never the twain shall meet" ring a bell?
