ya i have fixed the problem by installing msi afterburner underclocking the graphics from 800 mhz to 770, now it can play every game e.g. mw3, nfs RUN but still problem with GTA IV.. Nvidia graphics just not support this game

I have the same laptop, but I can only play GTA IV on highest half an hour before the computer gets too hot and slows down to around 10-15 FPS..

@naveedahmed986 Maybe it's the optimus problem, try right clicking on your desktop and select nvidia control panel and choose the 540m.

I don't know this by experience, I hope you've fixed it.

@Robby3092 yes, easy to fix that... Go to Nvidia.com then click on DOWNLOAD DRIVERS... then Manually find drivers for my NVIDIA products. select everything and then download the driver.. its around 200MB I guess .. after that you install it.. restart and play GTA with perfect picture :)

@Robby3092 Uhm I know it's a late response but you need to go to the NVIDIA Control Panel (rightclick ANY space on the desktop) and turn on the dedicated graphics card from there.

I bought same model with a difrent configuracion, the style is really cool, the plastic look cheap by the texture, but still its good, the configuracion and quiality of the hardware inside is great! I bought bad company 2 and I run it the full res 1366x 780 all at high and runs smooth and great! really looks nice, the keyboard bends a bit but not a problem, bought mine in wallmart, 700 dollars, i5 second gen, 4gb adn the nvidia gt540m. :D love it would give it a 9/10 great hardware and price!

@rodisnothere - i got the same computer with the hd3000 for 429.00 at frys. walmart is a good store for many things but not so much electronics. sure id rather not have the integrated but cant beat the price and it actually handles games pretty well tho i didnt get it for that purpose.

@25Vasile That's normal, Nvidia cards tend to get hot but they can handle it. Whether or not your other hardware can handle it depends on the manufacturer of the parts.

Either ration how much you play, or use a laptop cooler.

@25Vasile It is getting hot while playing on an laptop. Be sure not playing for example 8 hours of straight usage, give your laptop a break so it don´t get overheated.

@CrAzzY009 Yes I am playing it on W7 64 bit.. try to update your graphics card ! google Nvidia website and download the latest driver for your VGA and it will work.. because it didn't work with me until I updated my card !

How would you rate the Acer quiality, full pc not hardware, the hardware is kick ass! but I mean the chasis, the plastic, the feel, does it feel cheap? plastic I say. qualitiy of the pc.

I mean it's not like MAC quality and its not like HP .. as I said its fine and the body feels like carbon fiber :P .. the keyboard is awesome.. but to be honest the mouse touch isn't that much.. I mean sometimes I feel my finger stops while touching it.. I don't know if its the material or I have to change some settings.. but overall it is not bad ! I will rate it 7.5/10 as material and 8.5 as using !

@Powerrider77 Walmart sells the as5750g i5 with GeForce GT 540m 1 GB DDR3 for less than $700 delivered (plus tax). It's been benchmarked at 34 FPS on medium settings for Crysis 2 & 24 FPS on High. For a laptop to play Crysis 2 at med quality for less than $700 is amazing. My only question is how well does the screen look outside on the patio under an umbrella on a bright day? My brother's Asus looks amazing, my neighbor's 3 y.o. Acer looks washed out. Outdoor gaming, yeah!

lol, this is 10x better then the AlienWare laptops.. However, I only have enough for the Acer Aspire 5742G-6600 - i5-480M - 4GB GeForce GT 540M NVIDIA - $700 USD... I wish I could get this laptop instead :D even though, this one just handles games slightly better I suppose? And starts at $850 USD... a $150 dollar difference... Should upload more videos of how well it handles games other then GTA4.
