Because it was never officially recorded in a studio. They just decided to play a bunch of acoustic tracks during their last tour... hopefully they'll do it again this summer.

They've got an acoustic collection out. It consists of 5 or 6 songs, and you can recognize a rip amongst them from the give 'em the boot dvd (roots radicals). I don't know whether it's really from Rancid itself, or it's a fan-collection, but it's pretty easy-listening and the best quality :) you can find one of the songs here on youtube (the give em the boot one), just search for roots radicals acoustic.
