So much style that it's wasted", listened to it again and again and again, what a song, Pavement just genius can't wait to see them at Brixton Academy!
@hpsfl I asked where he got that from because I thought him saying that he preferred some Sarah McClachlan song in the comments of a Pavement song was pretty random. I don't see why someone would compare one of her songs to this song. I feel like they are two totally different kinds of artists.
speaking of Sonic Youth, this was a time Pavement seemed influenced by Sonic Youth, but by Wowee and Zowee and beyond, that link was not really there

I used to listen to "Watery, Domestic" more than any other Pavement release. Don't know why, maybe 'cause it's only like 15 min. long! Only four songs, but they're all great!!
I like both versions. I think that Los Campesinos did a pretty good job of a cover. Made it their own in a typically los campesinos fashion and I think it works well. Pavement are one of their greatest inspirations after all.
I know Pavement I think for 5yrs, but I heard this song firstly from Los Campesinos. That was such a surprise when I realised then that is originally a pavement song. much nicer!

In my oppinion it's better than S&E and ....Whatever the next one was called with "cut your hair". This is the best of both albums. They shpuld have kept recording and forgotten songs like "range life". Oh well. At least we had S&E, this and half of the next album. I won't even mention the last one since it doesn't deserve it.
Wow. I'm a Los Campesinos! fan, and I never knew they covered this song. As much as I like all their stuff a lot, they lost some of this song when they covered it. Everybody likes something, and some people actually want to let you know they like something. Any band that pulls influence from a group like pavement is obviously on the right track. Least they aren't doing a touch the sky cover or any other played out stuff.
What all you people who say 'LC shouldn't have covered this song!" should consider is, LC are Pavement fans, and by covering them, they are paying tribute... it is a different style, so at least they didn't just try to be Pavement.

Yeah I'm sure that's the point the band was trying to communicate, just blatant, shameless self-importance like that. You know its fine to not like the cover, but don't pretend to "get" something that is really just a thinly veiled version of your own opinion.
They're very different styles! LC's is poppy and very upbeat - this is more chillax. Neither is better than the other; it very much depends on your tastes.
