  • What a lovely show this was!

  • It's Arlene, hands down. I love that: "...none of us have ever seen one!" That's one reason why she's so appreciated, her quick, witty comments. Dorothy prompted the statement quietly, but leave it to Arlene to phrase it so confidently. I was hoping she'd figure it out near the end.

  • I like the sparkles on Arlene's necklace.

  • I wish they still make show like this instead of the garbage we got!!

  • Oh if only arlene could know how beautiful everyone thinks she is. RIP

  • Arlene looks stunning!!

  • Aaaaah...that was fun! Especially when they had that conference and almost came to the conclusion that this fellow was a Marriage Broker.

  • I feel bad for dorothy here, her head is kinda down and what ive read -watching more clips of wml i prefer arlene i think she's great but dorothy comes across (well to win the game-lol) erm kind of idk if 'delicate' is the right word cos she was strong both!!! (imo)

  • Yeah I think if anyone had to choose between Arlene or Dorothy it would be Arlene.

She's just very funny and charming.

Don't get me wrong Dorothy is too, but Arlene just has something about her.

  • GSN broadcast this in November 2008. It featured

WML's cameramen and a shot of a 1957 TV camera.

Dade County, Florida Deputy Sheriff who operates drunkometer chemical test for intoxication

Buddy Hackett in one of his earliest appearances. He appeared through 1965 with regularity.

a Gorilla Baby Sitter in Toledo Zoo

The producers of WML were geniuses. What's not to love?

  • Did you ever see so many pear-shaped tones in one place what with Eamonn Andres and Martin Gabel.

Alcohol usually generated big laughs on WML, but this is disconcerting now in light of the alcohol problems of Dorothy Kilgallen (detailed in Lee Israelson's book Kilgallen) and Martin Gabel (mentioned in a biography I read of Irwin Shaw).

Arlene: "We've never seen one." LOL I'll bet.

  • I suppose I could have read that between the lines, but I hadn't. Do you remember author or title on the Shaw biography? Details? Feel free to PM. Thanks.

  • What was the name or author of the Irwin Shaw biography in question? I'd like to read it. Thanks.
