Jerry Sadowitz who appeared in Terry Blair&Anouchka's video of Ultra Modern Nursery Rhymes, complained that this video infringed upon his copyright. Jerry's been replaced.
It has taken 5 months to do this!
Although angry with Jerry, I am also grateful because, I would have never learned Adobe After Effects and graphic animation. So thank you Jerry!
Jerry has been replaced by a number of colourful characters! Marc Bolan even makes an appearance! Bet he won't complain??!!!
I saw them in 1983 at Hammersmith, from memory the crowd was full of old Rude boys n girls... Skinheads were well on there way out by 83 it was becoming the land of Duran Duran and others...
Oh I see the misunderstanding -- I was referring to back when he was in The Specials and how when not "forced to" he stands idly like he has ever since he left the band like in this video (and the current day).
There's plenty clips on here with him swaying and awkwardly dancing -- just about any live video of them really. I read somewhere that their manager or whatever suggested it.
Alright, I´ll have a look. I´ve seen one or two videos in which Terry is making himself a bit of a Dance-Hall, but so much out-of-focus that he is hardly to be seen. Skinhead Moonstomp is one of them.
it was over the musical direction of the band, which is ironic, since after in the studio, the special aka moved in a similar direction to fun boy three.
I think this was the concert I went to in 1983 at the Regal Theatre Hitchin Hertfordshire for the Old Grey Whistle Test, I was right at the very front with my Terry Hall Hair....Ha Ha
@tappy321 I was at this gig. All free to get in. You had to attend one of the crappy club nights to get tickets. I also got my head kicked in by Hitchin's finest. You could see the whole thing when they screened it live on BBC2 shortly after. I also remember seeing Depeche Mode and The Undertones. Previously, they used Hatfield Poly, where I saw The Specials, Madness, The Police and others. Great days!
i bloody love this song - o to be back in 79 -80 short cropped hair - DM's - n fred perrys

I liked Terry when he was forced to dance, it inadvertently enhanced his "can't be bothered" attitude he puts on.

You mean as frantically dancing as he is in this very video?
theface79 2 years ago
not at all actually
bilwit 2 years ago
so when exactly was he forced to dance then?

Right - but I never saw him giving in to any force on stage. Never made a single move, Terry.

Any ideas why The Specials split up? This performance seems a bit sad with only half the members and half the creative brains there.

i heard they were reforming,i hope its true it wud be a god send, excellent band, one of the best

They broke up because there was too many of them in one band, so they split cos they wernt getting enough money, if hardly any.
birdy47 2 years ago
birdy47, I don't think it would have been over money considering those involved. More likely artistic differences and personality clashes.
