I just saw this ep last night. The song's lyrics weren't too relevant to the situation in this episode, but I must admit it went well with the emotions and was surprisingly effective to say the least. From all the episode finales I've seen thus far this one has to be the best or among the best. I hardly ever cry from movies, but this one definitely struck a note and got me pretty damn close. Amazingly done.
i really cried on this episode....Lesson to be learned, We All Say What We Would Do In A Situation, But You Never Actually Know Until You Are In It!!!
I'm not American, I wasn't even born during the 'nam war, but this episode really touched me, I was unable to hold back my tears...The story, the song, that guy's life..Everything was so sad... Cold case is really a great show.
Damn, this was really sad. Cold Case is for sure my favorite TV show, idk, it's got that special mix of feelings and suspense that I can't find in any other show. I'm not the kind of person that likes to watch series (actually, I prefer anime and cartoons, lol) but this one is really special.
I was thrilled to discover a Gordon Lightfoot song was used for a Cold Case ending! I didn't know he was that big in the United States because he's so quintessentially Canadian.
This was one of my favorite episodes it makes me cry when thought especially at the end when the play the song and they are all at Carl's grave site. then you see him and he salute the Police captian.
What a tribute! The years of Vietnam were years that lives were on hold with God standing beside us. The late 60's and early 70's brought to us so much unwelcome knocks on our doorsteps. Bobby, Martin, Vietnam all hit home at our kitchen tables. Back then, little did we know what our lives would become and this world - but we are carrying on for those who did not die in vain.
That was a great ending. I especially liked the music, sure the video was great but together with the music it was an even better combination. I've now played this clip three times just for the music.
@Pichipichiprincess It would be classed as second degree murder or at least manslaughter, at the time he killed Burton he was only 16 and under the influence of drugs
I'm looking for a song played in the scene where Carl finds out that Ken pretended to be him (with his son at the cafè). It says it's called "Rock 'n roll star" by MasterSource Music Catalog. I tried to look it up everywhere, but it seems to be untraceable. Please help me, and if anyone has it, please contact me :-)
After watching the scene & checking on TuneFind, I discovered the song you are after is called Stranger In A Strange Land by Leon Russell. I listened to it on iTunes & it's the right song. Hope this helps.
@MrsMac5 Thank you, but that's not the song, I'm afraid. The song I'm looking for, "Rock 'n Roll Star", was in the scene after. It's weird, really - I've been looking this song for a while now, and it's like it never really existed.
I stand corrected. You're right. I re-listened to the section & downloaded the file "Rock 'n roll star" from MasterSource Music. It's playing quietly in the background in the scene at 27:10 of the show. I made an mp3 of it (from MasterSource Music). Good song - it's credited as being recorded by Al Gross & Pete Surdoval.
How do you have so many copyright breaches on this posting? there are loads of cold case postings on you tube have they all got breach of copyright? what is it the song or the actual episode?
It's not just this one. I have every episode of CC up to S6E17 and I've listed the one's they've removed because of copyright breach on my main page.
It seems every 3 months 'they' (whoever 'they' are) do a spring clean & either remove the entire ending or they mute the sound, so all you can see is the video.
Thank you for posting this ending.this was on you tube previously but was withdrawn. The song by gordon lightfoot is excellent and really adds to the episode!does anyone know why it was withdrawn?it is one of the best episodes of the series!!

It wasn't withdrawn per se, YouTube cancelled my previous 2 channels (HossBog24666 & SOBB3029) for uploading an entire episode of Cold Case (Daniela).
This account has 7 copyright breaches so far...when it gets to 10, this channel is gone too.
