Does anyone else get annoyed when you get these middle class home county born people, who go about in poor areas and claim they are diverse, and trendy, yet when they move there, they don't interact with the locals, or the community
its shocking how east street market has changed hardly any of the old stalls are out and theres hardly any of the old shops i remeber as a kid!even baldwins is having a make-over,kennedys has gone, grants the shoe shop has gone-a absolute sin.....
I don't remember a time when I was a kid where we didn't go down 'The Lane' on a Sunday - it even use to be open on Christams morning. Nice to put a face to one of the characters in The Mumpher.
Nice piece, and a BIG thanks to Gary for getting through 3 minutes without saying 'Back in the day'

The shoe shop has been there for 150 years, it's called Mens Traditional Shoes
171 Camberwell Rd
London, SE5 0HB
020 77034179
A recent review of the shop said... "An Oasis of Normal! - William - 4 Feb 2009
This traditional shoe shop is as locally 'London' as anyone would wish. In an unspoiled part of town it remains unspoiled,
This traditional shoe shop is as locally 'London' as anyone would wish. It is certainly my favourite shoe shop in town!"

Hello Hellokatty88
Pleased to say the shoe shop is still going strong, it's just the opening hours can be a bit erratic
Alway's best to call Fred at the shop before visiting 020 7703 4179
