One thing I noticed was that in the original series the opening has masters doing the bending for water, earth, fire, air. So, this time I looked again and I swear the master doing air in Legend of Korra was the order version of Aang.

@hirokido I am hoping to submit the copyright form by April 1st this year. We have 30 characters we have to draft full colored designs for and finish getting all the mythology and major plot elements onto paper. I don't know how long the copyright office will take to review it, but it will likely be several months after that. Once it's been through that, then we can share more about it =)

@hirokido We haven't paid anything yet, so I don't know. Still working on getting everything on paper. I'm not pitching it to anyone anytime soon, and I have a 20 page script for Episode 1 and a 23 page script for Episode 2. It's meant as a 3-4 season series, halfhour episodes. Planning on trying to self-fund for the pilot episode, which would be episodes one and two back-to-back. That's after graduating and getting a job most likely.

@hirokido Audience would be teens to adults. We don't know what network it would be suitable for because it does involve blood and violence, plus a darker tone than most teen friendly anime (such as Naruto and Bleach). We are waiting to pitch it until we have degrees so we don't fail college worrying about it, and Yes, it is extremely difficult to get a show on air. Animation is even harder to work in than live action tv or film.

@hirokido Well animation take much longer to make than live action, obviously, but other than that, I'm not sure. It's probably because there is a smaller audience for animation than for live action. Honestly I don't know why, I can only speculate. I think our series could work for Adult Swim or something similar, but I think anime is dying out on cartoon network. I would say a TV-14 rating would likely be the case, though a TV-MA is not out of the question either.

@hirokido TV14 includes strong coarse language, sexual situations, and intense violence whereas TVMA can include crude/indecent language, explicit sexual activity, and/or graphic violence. Man of our enemies appear like humans, and it takes place in a world where bladed weapons and martial arts are the only weapons used. We have a few "horrific" scenes planned, so it maybe just a few episodes that get the TVMA rating.

@MybasementReviews Meant to say "Many of our enemies" lol. But I don't know what really counts as Intense Violence vs. Graphic Violence. Most likely there would be a committee that would view it and vote on a rating.

@MybasementReviews ya the fcc, i think it depends on the artistic purpose. If it is purposeful to the story it is allowed if not they censor it. So how do you feel about censorship? cartoon network censors everything most networks do

@hirokido Well I don't think it makes sense to try and market animes that are for older teens originally and try to pass them off as kids show. Like Dragonball Z was censored on Toonami and now even more so on NickToons.

@hirokido The script isn't exactly going into our package because I will end up rewriting it anyway a few times. We are copyrighting the characters, designs, and mythology/scenario for now until we can afford a lawyer who specializes in copyrighting.

I wonder if it was just a wrote in CGI scene. That type of CGI is expensive, We saw a little bit of it during some of the season 3 specials, which was probably due to there being allotted budget increases for a few episodes because the sponsors trusted that that episode was going to get good ratings. And it's not positive that this opening will be used over and over again. The series opening and episode openings for the first series were different, so it might be the same with Korra. The...

@xSasuNaruAmutox Fire comes before Air, so it would have been "Water, Earth, Fire, Air" Roku was before Aang and Korra is after Aang so its water, earth fire, air in the original series and earth, fire, air, water in the legend of korra

The last airbender has been of similar inspiration to me :) I'm in film school too, I'm going into 3D animation, but that doesn't mean the show didn't help me make a decision on what I wanted to do haha. I just wish they could tell us a date when it will likely premiere :( It sucks knowing it's probably going to be at least a year.

I agree with your view on "book 4" (and technically they made a "book 4" XD with their parody thing). My only issue was the Zuko's mom thing, I mean come on it's the end of the series, do not leave a cliffy! But now they're coming up with manga coming in January that'll hopefully answer those questions. Have you seen the leaked clip and photos as well? I'd love to see your views on those. :D

Well i guest the leaking if over, Viacom has the leaker's IP address on watch, anything he/she posts thats related to LOK will be deleted immediately. Unless the leaker restarts his/her modem, or have someone else do the leaking.

I saw the opening yesterday and good thing I saw it too! When I heard Tenzin's voice I was like: "That's J.K. Simmons' voice?" It's so different because I watch Spider-Man too but his voice was great! And when I saw the Aang and the others I kept going back to the beginning because I really miss the gang; also I saw the bending of the elements and I noticed that people who were bending them were the past Avatars and that was great to see. I really can't wait to see it!!!

@hirokido A woman who goes to my church has some experience copyrighting some of her personal projects so she offered to help me. Basically I'm writing a full outline of the plot and mythology and putting together full character bio's and designs into a package and then I have to fill out some forms and then mail the whole thing to the US Copyright office. I'm still figuring a lot of it out lol

I actually agree with everything you said about the talk with a "Book 4", I thought that the end of Book 3 was the definitive conclusion to the story. I mean, if they wanted to show Aang learning airbending, that would be more of a prequel. I only wanted more when I started watching the show throughout the first season. Especially when they were taking a hiatus after "The Blue Spirit"!

@hirokido It's the kind of school that you will learn a lot if you work a lot and you will learn nothing if you treat it like a normal school. It is by no means a rip-off, but it's highly accelerated and since its a 24 hour school, you will end up in class from 1 am til 5 am only to have another class at 9am to 1pm sometimes. But its great. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

@WritingSchiozo101 Oh wow, you started young. I tried to do a novel but I gave up on it after a while. I still have my old notes but I felt like it was too much of a LotR clone. The project I'm currently working on was something we started in 2004, so I was in the 8th grad then I think and it's evolved tremendously but at the same time still has it's core elements. The writing process is so weird but I now understand when authors claim that the story told them where it wanted to go.

I am only speaking as a novelist, but for writers, they advise against copyrighting it because it shows future publishers that you don't trust them. anywho- yeah i'm excited. :D we'll see how the plot turns out; I'm really excited how they're building the plot around the Equalists, and how they're probably going to have a lot of heavy themes like prejudice (against benders), and maybe go as far as out right genocide, since the world has 'moved on'. wouldn't necessarily call it steam punk though. i think the world in it of itself is moving out of industrial age into modern but I really have yet to see some of the aesthetics of steampunk xD
