This snake looks just like the one crawling on the inside panel of my door a few minutes ago. Solid black with yellow belly. The one at my house had to be a good 6ft long. After researching snakes here in TN I found it to be one of the many many subspecies of rat snake. I hit it with a hammer and it took it's ass outside. I'm not going to let my pittbull be bitten by these fuckers, because it could make it. sick. I say it can look for rodents elsewhere.

That's a water moccasin...aka cottonmouth, and those snakes are not only extremely poisonous, but very aggressive. They have been known to slither into canoes after people from the water. I've come across more than my fair share of them fishing, and let me tell you... I'd never let my dog go after one like that.
