Space Marine Dreadnoughts are basically walking coffins. When Space Marines are mortally wounded beyond repair the Apothecary can give them the Emperor's Peace to mercy kill them. However, experienced Space Marines like Captain Davian Thule, or any high ranking/ proven warriors can be permanently placed within a Dreadnought shell to continue to fight on in the Emperor's name.

I believe this might be a reference to the Samurai Jack episode "Jack and the Ultrabots". The antagonists in that one, a bunch of practically indestructible robots, tell Jack "We have come to destroy you." The voice modulation is similar, and they're both very creepy sounding.

DoW II also has an extreme lack of an Imperial Guard race, don't be forgetting that. the Baneblade will most likely be introduced in an expansion for DoW2 which would include the Imperial Guard.

Honestly, DoWII is just too controlled for me. It just feels like it lacks the strategic element of DoW I.

i had long but boringly epic battle just then on dark crusade me (chaos) vs orks (computer) gaurdsmen (computer) and space marines (obviously computer) somehow i beat them with wat i now call my own chaos battleforce for dow it has 2 predators no upgrades 9 khorne berzerkers 10 cultists and and chaos lord (no daemon prince) i just ran around kept reienforcing my squads and ownage i beat them wen i won i had 3 cultists 8 berzerkers 2 predators and 1 chaos lord (no daemon prince)

mm agreed, i tried both, i'd say as far as single player DoW 1 i liked a lot more, but Dow 2 has a lot of stuff going for it in multiplayer (except no tau race wtf ?!!) but i haven't tried so

to be honest, played a lot multiplayer games in DoW 1 and base building actually rescued my ass from time to time xD, in DoW 2 you must be very active and games if you're good enough can be maximum 10 to 20 minutes long (and that's too short for me cause i like long and epic battles)
