never boost an eq thats bad for your mix and people ears, in this tutorial he boosts 12db to the original input of the bass then add a maximizer and boosts that so that would be like 20 db added to the original input, that will just blow peoples ears on a loud system. thats very bad eqing im affraid.

Hey guy- Try using the spider audio splitter and running a graphic EQ to separate the low/mid/high and throw the effects on those individual lines, then merge them and run the compression afterward. DEFINITELY sounds better.

You must be using a pair of studio monitorss without an auxillary subwoofer, because pretty much none of your videos have good bass.. Unless you do it on purpose because youre trying to make "good bass music" that could be heard on any type of speakers/ over the radio.

@hellowill111 Basically what he was doing was tricking your ears into thinking they hear the low freqs by using higher ones. There are 3 oscillators in Thor. If you set them to three separate octaves, you can do this. He also added harmonics to the bass using Scream distortion.

@realdanman it's because of the acoustic properties of your room, more specifically standing waves causing reinforcement of some frequencies and cancellation of others. This happens when the wavelength of the sound is the same as, or a multiple of the dimensions of your room.

Mastering is extremely bad. a 5 minute job on logic or reason takes 40 minutes in FL. I'm not joking here.

secondly reason is definitely so much better than fl, and it goes back to the mastering and sound quality. Reason is much more versatile but i do admit, it needs more effects (thats why i rewire).

I also admit you can do good stuff with FL but it is much harder, and it doesn't need to be.
