  • Those aren't real horns .. Shocker train horns from hornblasters are a lot better!! Epic bass, about 150db ..

  • @danwat1234

Compared to the toy-like horns of many modern cars (especially the small ones) these are definitely real horns!

  • @Fleet472 Your right! Your horns are MUCH better than my stock single-tone Civic horn.

  • @danwat1234

Thanks. You're right, they sure are better/different!

  • @danwat1234 Pretty much now a days cars come with (mostly Kia's) 1 or 2 disc horns (meep) Also heard earlier today a 2011 Chevy silverado with a single shell horn. So not only are car manufactures today are installing cheesy horns on small cars but also on pickups as well. Also (Sad to say this) a few months ago I cut off a Semi in traffic and it had a single Disc horn on it! (meeeeeeeeep) Stupid how auto manufactures are thinking of what to put for horns! Its Pathetic.

  • I have horn #2 mounted on a piece of steel stock, powered by a car jumper box

that I put behind the seat of my forklift at work. People are always walking in front of me when I use the stock "beep beep" horn. When I sound the 4 note Cadillac horn, most folks jump up and get the heck out of the way. The horn(s) were donated from a '87 Fleetwood Brougham D' Elegance. VERY loud. I love the rich, commanding tone.

  • @Thunderchicken1997 and I have Horn #1 Mounted in my truck. I like the deep tone it has and not the high pitch scooter horn that comes on cars now a days.

  • are you in the mafia?

  • i almost gave a woman a heart attack at a traffic light when it turned green and she was just sitting there in her car yaking on the phone, i own a 1989 cadillac fleetwood with 4 horns and only 1 tone , nobody really expects a car to have a loud horn anymore

  • My '63 Sedan de'Ville (62 series, 4 window) has 2 dual note horns as original equipment. It will sound 4 notes but out of only 2 horns (dual chambers).

My '73 Fleetwood Brougham de'Elegance (60 Special) had 5 actual single note horns. 4 coiled horns and one trumpet (looked like a trumpet bell, hence the name) horn as original equipment.

My '63 Coupe (plain Jane not a de'Ville) has only 2 single note (coiled) horns.

Cadillac had many different note configurations over the years. They wer

  • I installed a set in my 2006 Subaru Outback (replacing those ridiculous "brereeeeb" and "brürüüüb" factory horns). The effect is startling. The recipients accommodate immediately, and with a smile --clear road without road rage!

  • Your '76's horn is malfunctioning. Caddys actually have 4 horns. They play a musical chord by playing four notes. Most cars just have one or two. Make sure all your horns are connected on the 1976. There may be a dirty or loose connection. It should sound exactly like the '69. Love both of those cars. My dad had a '73 Sedan DeVille, my brother had a '68 DeVille conv. and I had to 1970s, one Sedan DeVille and a Fleetwood Series 60. Loved them. The 472 is one of my favorite engines.

  • @busybeepromotions Agreed, it should sound like the 69! I've got about 4 sets of these horns I've pulled out of junked Caddies, each horn working perfectly. Sounds like a train or a full blown orchestra blowing in your ear - depending on how you see it. Love the sound! :)

  • Car horns today sound like a computerized squeak, not an authoritative "get out of my way!" I have a 1996 Fleetwood but the tone doesn't sound nearly as hearty as either of your Caddies. I actually prefer the sound of your '69 to the '76.

  • i always loved those old land yatchs

  • They sound like boat horns. Pretty apt for old Caddy's.

  • Ah! I like the second horn best!

  • Most Cadillac's from the late-80's and up had the 4-note horn system, also called the Trumpet Horn. This system included two horns on each side. An A-note, F-note, C-note and D-note were used. If you have the 2-horn system, it uses an F-note and A-note horn only. If you'd like to add the extra 2 horns to your 2-horn system for a Trumpet Horn setup, you will need to upgrade your horn wiring along with a larger fuse, or wire up a relay. The stock 2-horn wiring & fuse can't handle four horns.

  • a friend of mines had a 1987 Sedan Deville and it had 4 horns and no theft system. IVe had a 1983 Deville and mines had 4 horns. Also a friend of mines had the 1996 Deville Concourse and it had 4 horns. The Caddies of the mid and late 80s had 4 horns jus like the Luxury Buicks and Oldsmobiles did. My old bass had a 1991 Brougham with the LT1 and it had 4 horns. Ive personally seen late 80s caddies in Pull A Part with 4 horns.

  • the last Lac has a better sounding horn! Both of those Land Yatches are beautiful!

  • man you got some nice caddys the fleetwood and sedan deville are my favorites

  • My grandpa had an 88 Cadillac Brougham, Huge inside, BIG comfy seats, and nice loud horn. He gave it away to someone, wish I could have taken it at the time, but I didn't have a Drivers license.

  • two sweet caddy's .....someday want a 66.

  • i love how musical the horns sound. my olds 88 has a pretty loud one (espec. compared to my rents' toyota and nissan haha) but its not as clean sounding as those 2

  • cool!!!!! i have a 1984 cadillac sedan deville diesel it has 4 horns it sounds like a train horn only the diesels came with 4 horns isnt that weird

  • maybe the Sedan Deville diesels only came with 4, but all of the Fleetwoods had 4 horns. BTW I had an 84 Sedan Deville too, 4.1 V8 gas engine tho. Pretty sure it was only 2 horns, lol. That and an 82 Fleetwood with all 4 horns. :) Beautiful cars.

  • nope. All Caddy Devilles came with 4 horns all the way up to 2000 when Caddy went 2 horns to keep things simple.

  • @6V92TA not true i have a 1983 cadillac sedan deville it has only 2 horns my 1984 cadillac has 4 horns because its a diesel or if your cadillac had a theft system !! it has the 4 horns other wise just 2 the new caddys from mid 90's into 2000 have only 1 horn i work on cars i know we have had more than a few cadillacs !!!

  • Were you really excited when you found out they come with horns?

  • No, I was glad to know that they sounded like real horns, not the toy-like horns found on many other cars.

  • Either of your Cadillacs have a buzzer when you start it or open the door with key in ignition?Just wondering when they started putting those in and when they switched over to the more pleasant chimes. Please do a start up video of both.

  • Yes, both have a buzzer.

    I do like chimes better.

And I will do a start up video of both soon.

  • Please sell you your cars!!! I love cadillacs! i own a 2002dts and a 1976 coupe deville! my coupe is my baby!

  • Yes, those '76s sure provide a very quiet and smooth ride!

My parents once owned a '74 Coupe de Ville.

  • Auto Parts stores don't have those so I would say, Junk yards, and those notes are D,F, and A, and I just bought a set from the junk yard that has also the C note.

  • You are the luckiest person in the world!!!

  • Those horns...one of the many things I miss about my '81 Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance.

  • The 69 one reminds me of a train... love it.

  • Your '69 Fleetwood is sweet! I have a '77 Superior hearse and it took me over two years of haunting junk yards to find the 4 horn option. Figures I find 2 cars with them (both were '78 deVille deElegances. I took the best set and it sounds very much like a train horn just not as loud. I've heard people call the older 3 horn set up "Eldorado" horns. I should have written down the notes of the horns. I do remember A, C & D. The last one might be E.

  • I bought a set of Cadillac Horns at the Junk yard recently the notes are D,F,A, and C.

  • Out of what year Cadillac did you find them in?

  • a 1990 Devil. I have them in my truck except the C note had a bad ground and I took it out now it sounds Exactly like the 69 Cadillac Brougham because the only notes I now have in my truck are D,F,and A. I'll make a video.

  • The '69 sounds like a Cadillac horn should. The fact that it has three horns; low, mid, and high tone no doubt accounts for the better tone.

Some models had the three horns plus a real trumpet horn!

  • Does the '69 have the trumpet horn feature?

  • No, it has two of the shell-type horns behind the driver's side headlights and one just behind the grille.

Oddly, the '76 limo has only two, also behind the driver's side headlights.

  • Comment removed

  • I discovered after recording the video that a rag was blocking one of the horn outlets on the limo. I was wondering why it seemed to have a higher tone than on the '69 Fleetwood. Yet another video I will have to redo and update!

  • Or maybe 1 of the 4 horns on the 76 is not working most likely the trumpet one.

  • Cadillac horns had two tones. One for the lower series deville and one for the more costly fleetwood an Eldo. 4 note horns as they are called.
