The LETTER uses "slave" and "Negro" (we all know that slaves were primarily Black and he uses this word referring to the letter as he speaks to his audience for clarification and inspiration). Everyone acts like when slavery ended, black people were brought to the plantation house and sat at the table with the white former slave owners. This did not happen, We did not get BASIC civil rights until the 1960's. My mother lived through segregation and marched for freedom, that's how recent slavery's effects are (I'm 38).

@bert613 If you listen closely you will hear that the actual reading of the letter does not contain the word "Black". The LETTER uses "slave" and "Negro" (we all know that slaves were primarily Black and he uses this word referring to the letter as he speaks to his audience for clarification and inspiration). The letter reads in form for 1700s lingo.

I'm from Canada and my black friend himself said black people in the US are more racist than white people, and for the most part alot of those actions going on only spark more racism.
I think black people do take it too far. Slavery is nothing new. Black people had slaves too. Millions of white people have been slaves too, why should everyone bend over backwards and tippy toe around black people and slavery, slavery does not discriminate against race in the first place.

My black friend in the deep south said black people had slaves in the US too, before black people white people had white slaves and the whole idea and sterotype of white people of kidnaping black people from Africa as slaves for in the US is highly exaggerated. Really in Africa black people sold black people as slaves too, and only reason black slaves became popular over white and other races is because they were cheaper and had more endurance.
