  • TTA was always - and still is - a huge inspiration to me.

  • Dammit, Charlie.. why?? You are greatly missed.

  • Does he get the sounds form the actual program?

  • @GSarovich No probably not, please don't buy a piece of software for a particular sound they all do the same things in slightly different ways.

  • @GSarovich the program acts as a host - and a taperecorder of sorts, for the software and hardware instruments. :)

    here's the demo: ableton.com/download-suite-trial

  • "...And it seems like a gross misallocation of valuable music making resources to not be able to make music during that time period."

    hahahaha.

  • Uh I YouTubed Tel-Aviv. What does this have to do with Israel? By the way I use Ableton Live too on a Mac of my music production. I use Reason and Logic Pro too.

  • RIP, Charles

  • I create easy patterns and waves on Synapse Orion and then load them on Live. Edit the samples, do arranjments, add automation features and eq and compress!

  • RIP

  • Ok, this may sound like a foolish question, but how are they editing the sample like that? Moving points around and such...do they have a different editor that they sync'ed with ableton, because I can't seem to figure it out.

  • I was wondering how they managed to do that too.

  • if you select the loop bracket thingy with your mouse, then you can move it around using the arrow keys

  • g33k Q: in the park does he have an headphone amp+ grado sr80? :P

  • great video, so sad to hear about charles :(

  • RIP charles.

  • RIP Charles Cooper.

  • I love the fact that they're doing all this on Macs... also love the fact that they're from my hometown NOLA (go saints!).

Thanks for posting - my wife uses ProTools and Audition and I think she'll be interested in this.

  • At home, they record mostly with Digidesign products -- Pro Tools, MBox, etc. They use Ableton Live predominantly in live situations and on the road because it's better as an improvisational tool and it's less cumbersome to use in a situation (such as travel) where portability is at a premium.

Saw them do a show at my work a few years ago when I was still in college. Mostly a laptop set utilizing Ableton (with a Fender Rhodes on the side), but a great show nonetheless.

  • for writing and arranging electronic music, ableton is pretty much untouchable.

  • I had no idea you guys used Ableton...here me always thinking it doesnt sound too good, but yr stuff shound great...do you finish stuff on live? I am expecting you to say "course not."

I use it myself and love it...power to the people!

  • no offense but how is this "so different" than other electronica? not knocking it, just don't see the big deal

  • what music making software is he using?

  • ableton...

  • I'm a huge fan :)So when will these guys release new material?

  • Are they still on Heft Records?

  • have you heard the new song?

  • No, where can I find the new stuff?

  • there's one on their myspace player and one download stream called Helen of Troy, google it! its a very different sound, I can't wait till january for the album!

  • hey guys u have any ideas,,

where i can find a live video from TTV

    thnks guys

  • 2:02m hahahaha

  • of course, you had no idea what you are talking about cause you have some mental issues.

I ve heard those guys live here in chile and they blew up my mind. Top quality

  • What is that they are using at around 2 mins?? dragging it about looks like a looper? or some thing

  • very cool

  • Telefon Tel Aviv.. please spare this kids fighting over supremacy or anything.. they just though they're great but as a booger to a man, they're nothing compared to you guys.. all good vibes to mr. Josh and Mr. Cooper.

    -dah from Ph

  • great stuff, man. thank you!!!

  • i think you are a total dumbass! of course the dude knows how to use a basic SAMPLER! but he was using ABLETON LIVES SAMPLER which is much more dynamic!

thanx for th vid! i knew about the beat juggling thing but never used b4! i must try it.

  • apeeeeeeeeeeu

  • i <3 telefon tel aviv.

  • "what a dumbass. he obviously never heard of loading the samples into a SAMPLER and using MIDI to sequence them. LOL"

thank you for being a complete fool, lol.

  • @thentherewas shut the hell up his music is better than your life

  • @TheFilmCreator1 you've only just made yourself look like a massive dick, well done. I was talking about someone else trying to talk down about telefon tel aviv. So congratulations, asshole, you've identified yourself as someone being completely unable to reason and logically process information, thereby making you a useless spec of humanity using up valuable oxygen and misusing semi-valuable carbon. Shame.

  • @thentherewas k sorry i thought you were talking massive shit

  • @thentherewas you should probably swallow a tranquilizer and calm down.

  • @kaih8941 youtube trolling upsetting you? truly a battle hardened individual, then

  • @thentherewas are you road testing a new phrase? You make very little sense.

  • @kaih8941 if you are unfamiliar with the concept of youtube banter, then you should maybe try your best to find a wormhole, warp back a decade, and start over.

  • @thentherewas Yes because that more than anything else is a skillset you can not afford to miss.

    now what

  • @kaih8941 perhaps not succumbing to your own irony would be a good skill-set to look into then ;)

  • @thentherewas If I did then I might but since I didn't I wont.

  • @kaih8941 because perpetuating this little inane and asinine to-and-fro is definitely within the principles on which you began. doesn't bother me, if you want to get wound up, I'm more than happy to help you on your way! :)

  • @thentherewas See, that wasnt so hard, was it? :D

Next time take a deep breath and remember that you are quite insignificant.

  • @kaih8941 LOL-- coming from the self-implied judicator of youtube! have fun on your many lonely and futile nights policing, then :)

  • @thentherewas Oh I will - have fun blowing your lid completely at the slightest hint of provocation.

  • @kaih8941 have fun applying gravity to situations in which there isn't any. Going to be citing wikipedia any upcoming dissertations? I hear if it's on the internet in form of text, it's a direct representation of fact! :D

  • @thentherewas trust me, you are the very definition of low gravity - and believe it or not, quite easy to parry without any online services.

  • @kaih8941 miscomprehended and mis-retorted. fail. gg and good-day.

  • @thentherewas If you can fault my statements then please do - but if you wanna claim I copypasted shit you better do a better job at proving it.

  • @kaih8941 oooooh mate, just further emphasising what I've said! I'd keep this going, but I'd, at least, like it to stay fun! :D

  • @thentherewas Yeah but you see, being vague doesnt make you smart, really. It just makes you pretentious; and abit of a coward.

  • @kaih8941 and ignorance/failing to understand a point does the opposite? can you actually assess the relative bravery of someone by youtube's fora postings? what a backward world you must live in! since you need a helping hand, i'll help you out (maybe I'll be able to claim it as volunteering work?): never did I claim you actually copied and pasted anything, but insinuated you may be the type to do so as you pretty aptly made assumptions (and took them as fact) from a comment on youtube :)

  • @thentherewas I dont see the connection personally, but whatever. qwghlm.co.uk/toys/dailymail/

  • @thentherewas Dude, he knows what he is doing. Its better to use audio because you can glitch them up easier than you can midi,

  • @KeithMMeldrum you've misinterpreted what I've said. Notice the quote marks, which generally speaking, imply that I was QUOTING someone. reread plzkthx.

  • @KeithMMeldrum ohhh haha ok your not the one who said it

  • Nativeops, you're the dumbass! It's just another simplier technic to do it. Certainly a sampler has a more creative opened process. But for IDMish cuts'n'stutters, this is enough.

  • you obviously don't get it.

  • I know right , Where can I buy ur music!?

  • Hahahahaha.

  • do you?

  • Are you a complete and utter retard or something ?

    1. It doesnt matter what you use or how you use it so long as the outcome is good

    2. I suggest you go and listen to some Telefon Tel Aviv tracks, they are production dons and chances are they could absolutely school you on how to make good music.

  • I LOVE YOU FOR POSTING THIS!

  • ableton live comes with your mother's vagina. sometimes...

  • alguien me puede mandar el disco please?

    no se donde conseguirlo!

    :S
