Errmm... well not seeing your character is pretty much the entire point of the game (that and the map making). It is supposed to be a throwback to old RPGs such as Wizard and to a lesser extent Earthbound. And even if you don't actually see your character doing the attack you see the effect of the attack. Plus technically you CAN see your character. It's just a not moving portrait next to their window.

this game is fun but the gay thing about it is that you cant see your own character in battle all games like that bug the hell outta me
