  • damn fine song.

  • ALFRED

  • not to me at anyone

  • It's funny how Michael Caine went from this, where he recieves a scarf from Beaker and Professer Bunson, to saving crack whores and killing PlanB in Harry Brown.

  • I never knew Michael Caine could sing!

  • Michael Caine was the best scrooge ever!

  • My favorite Christmas song ever!

  • Aw you cut off the bit where he gives him the scarf. its so touching. Best film ever

  • Scrooge is Saved, what else is there?

  • @BillWa Tiny Tim will survive to see many more Christmases, thats what.

  • did you get the copyright to this video?

  • Merry Christmas!!! This is my fave Christmas Movie!

  • This song makes me feel really good inside

  • He left the front door of his office open! :-o

  • THE BEST VERSION OF THE STORY!

  • You know... I can watch Steel Magnolias, Angelas Ashes, Bourne and not shed a single tear... then I watch the Muppet Christmas Carol... and here comes the water works lol

  • Spread the Christmas Cheer. With the best Christmas song!

  • SO FUNNY HOW EVERYBODY THINKS THEY ARE DREAMING, ESPECIALLY FRED, BY SEEING EBENEZER BECOMING SO KIND SUDDENLY!

  • @veganisextremelygood I'd get angry at you for USING CAPS ALL THE TIME but I won't because it's Christmas.

  • @TheExodude - sometimes all caps is an exclamation of joy, agreement, excitement or thankfulness! Try some of that yourself and have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  • BACK THEN, COAL WAS VERY COSTLY AND HE NEVER WANTED THEM TO USE IT! AND LOVE IT HOW FRED THOUGHT HE WAS DREAMING SEEING EBENEZER ON CHRISTMAS DAY!

  • Haha after all the years of watching this film I've only just realised that the present he gives his bookmakers is a bucket of coal! Brilliant!

  • @4321b BACK THEN COAL WAS VERY COSTLY AND HE NEVER WANTED THEM TO USE IT!

  • Am I the only one who hopes Scrooge found Belle again? :)

  • Also if you look at 1:43 the store they go past is named Statler & Waldorf which is the muppet name for the two who played Jacob and Robert marley

  • Bruce Wayne: Alfred, why do I seem to go through more money during the holidays?

Michael Caine: I have no idea Mr. Wayne.

  • Best Christmas movie ever like if you agree

  • It's movies like this that convince me that I'm still a bit of a kid inside.

  • The Muppets never get old.

  • This is by far the best version of the tale I've seen.

  • LOVE the Muppets and LOVE this song. Sadly though, this is the one Muppet movie I could never get into. The Statler and Waldorf Marley and Marley scene terrorized me as a kid and the talking and singing chains plus their rattling sounds and evil looks traumatized me to the point that I am still afraid of chains today. However, I will always love the Muppets and their continued effort to bring quality family and good hearted entertainment to everyone! Just saw the new movie and also loved it!

  • I almost cried during so many scenes in this movie. I am 27. Live with it.

  • @TheBbpresident I did cry and I am a 22 year old male. No need hiding that fact!

  • @TheBbpresident No one cares how many times you were close to crying. You don't need to tell us to live with it.

  • Michael Cain will always be the perfect Scrooge

  • BEAN!

  • ❤ :)

  • ❤ :)

  • Fuck all like Christmas day all the shops are open no problem if this was real life he'd be cursing the fact he can't buy a pack of smokes cos all the shops are shut lol

  • @simontheasset ~ One; it's a muppet world where thing go they was they're supposed to. Two; we don't really know that shops wouldn't be open in Victorian London at Christmas time.

  • Holy cow, how much money did he plop down in that store? :o

  • 1.29 "Do we call the guys in white coats, do you think he's having a breakdown?"

    Kidding, excellent movie :)

  • I've just realised! I watched this film for years and I've just noticed that at 1:43, the shop sign says Statler and Waldorf! And now the Micklewhite one. :)

  • I've been listening to these songs and you know what? On the videos I have been on, I haven't seen one dislike. This shows the brilliance of this film.

  • The reason this version of Christmas Carol is the best?:

    It has Michael Caine singing!

  • "Im about to raise you right off the pavement!" :)

  • lucky all those shops were open on christmas day...

  • @greg802 Tradesmen and the like often didn't close for Christmas. The middle class were more likely to have a day off. Which is odd considering that earlier in the film, Cratchett said everyone would be closed.....XD

  • @KaizokuShojo everyone mortgage banks and the like would do business with. small storefronts that sell gifts and food would be open, because people would buy stuff last minute

  • The FINEST Christmas movie ever made.

  • Who would have thought Michael Caine singing with muppets would be one of the greatest scenes in history.

  • I gotta say, my one niggle with this film is that Scrooge has gotta be really fast at wrapping presents to get all those ready in the space of an hour or so. And live next to a 24/365 store.

One of my fav movies though. Watch it every Christmas Eve.

  • Michael Caine = Best scrooge of all time.

  • 2 people don't have hearts

  • I like how Fred is like " WTF just happened"

  • He will always be my favorite Scrooge

  • Marle and Marle Disliked this Video

  • :')

  • Thank you all for over 100,000 views! yours monkfan1992

  • GOD i'm glad a 90's kid and brought up on Muppets :D I LOVE this film.

I will hold this song close in a thankful heart :)

  • Question: Aren't Fozziwig and the schoolmaster supposed to be dead? I thought they were in other versions of this.

  • @MichaelBrookham Yeah, I thought so, too.

  • Bah humbug

  • This film is part of my Christmas tradition... It always plays when we put up our tree :D

  • thumbs up if your watching this 2 months before xmas

  • Love the extraordinarily camp wave at 1:59 :P

  • I almost cried with Beaker, dunno why.

  • 2 People make me very angry!!!

  • i watched this all the time when i was little i still know evrey line to the whole movie makes me sooo ahppy still watch it on xmas eve :D

  • Oh Scrooge...tsk tsk.. you Socialist

  • I love it that Michael Caine sings in this movie. ^^ as if he wasn't amazing enough.

  • "A promise to share the wealth"

COMMUNISM. (Love and peace version, not present-day.)

  • @Turboplant LOL.XD

But of course, communism is the FORCED sharing of the wealth, while doing it willingly and at your discretion is just generosity. :)

  • my favorite version of Christmas Carol!

  • sorry guys but i'm pretty sure there's no irony in the bookkeepers getting coal. they were getting coal cause scrooge would never buy any to keep the shop warm so the bookkeppers had to write with numb fingers. i really dont think there's any irony in that.

  • out of all the christmas carol movies michael caine is the best scrooge

  • i always listen to this song when i'm feeling sad :) it reminds me how good i've got it <3

  • My God...I just realized this is Michael Caine...he just became even more awesome to me!!

  • Who else is excited for Christmas!!! :D

  • @crazymurdav Aye!

  • I watch this every Christmas always gets me into the Christmas spirit!! I love it!!!!!

  • am i right in thinking that the shop they pass on the way to see sam and fozzie (i can't remember who they played in this) is called Statler and Waldorf (as in the old guys in the balcony who palyed the marley brothers)

  • I know Michael Caine has been in far more iconic roles than this, but this is the first film I think about when someone mentions Michael Caine. The perfect Scrooge. ♥

  • The girl who plays Clara is Simon's mum in The Inbetweeners.

  • This is the only movie that has ever made me cry. Beaker giving the scarf to Scrooge is just touching. God bless us, everyone!

  • Jim Carrey's got nothing on Michael Caine!!!!! Neither does George C. Scott.

  • this film always has me in tears! LOVE IT!

  • Every night will end, and every day will start, with a grateful prayer and a thankful heart from now on! And a glass raised to toast your health and a promise to share the wealth in these times we all need to help one another.

  • 2 people didnt ger coal of scrooge

  • Does anybody else see the irony of the bookkeepers getting coal for Christmas?

  • @JediSlayer22 Well, they needed coal for their fires, as Bob Cratchit pointed out earlier.

  • @JediSlayer22 One of the few times that getting coal wouldn't be a slap in the face. :)

  • @JediSlayer22

    its for the fires.

  • @JediSlayer22 Yeah, but I know why he gave them coal.

  • @JediSlayer22 ~ I see where you're coming from, but that was what they asked for!

  • @JediSlayer22 lol it's to keep them warm...

  • the greatest scrooge of all time :) <3333333

  • NM!

  • What's the joke?

  • This song makes me smile!!!

  • @tiggerlover41 Me too.

  • I love this movie but if I knew someone like Scrooge and he changed from a cranky, stingy, greedy, grumpy, and uncaring old man to a generous, smiling, happy, singing, chipper, and all around nice guy I would think he went crazy especially if I knew his reason for changing was brought on by a child in a white sheet floating and gliding off the floor, a chubby, chipper, and joly giant, and adark, gloomy skeletal figure. But hey if everyone else was going along with it why not?

  • @Moontamble jesus christ, cram your nerdy banter and let us enjoy the song fora change

  • @GazStudios Nerdy? Hmm...no I believe the term your looking for is educated. I meant no harm in my post and you can enjoy a song without reading comments. I was merely sharing my opinion of which is entitled to everyone. Thank you for sharing your opinion.:)

  • @Moontamble That's the case in pretty much every version of 'A Christmas Carol,' and yeah, they usually make a point of having at least a couple of the characters wondering if Scrooge was feeling okay.

  • @Adamguy2003 Oh, was that the irony you meant?

  • Micheal Caine is too sexy for words

  • haha I do enjoy the Micklewhite sign inclusion. also the Statler & Waldorf one is great as well.

  • Love Cain. Love the Muppets. Best film he ever made. I love the ending to this film. And this is the second best song in it. I want his scarf.

  • lol i just got the irony there- a lump of coal for christmas.....XD

  • At 1:43, I love the fact that the names on the business are Statler and Waldorf (the two hecklers recruited to play the Marley brothers).

"More of gravy than of grave!? Where do you get these terrible puns? Leave comedy to the bears, Ebenezer!"

  • Michael Caine always said this was the most fun he ever had making a movie

  • SPROKETTTTT! Omigawd, I never noticed he was in this movie. <3

  • @puckhiggins Same here! GO FRAGGLES! GO FRAGGLES! OOAH! OOAH!

  • @puckhiggins

was just about to say the same! Mind you he always used to make me happy but now he makes me think of my poor deceased bow-wo who looked just like him

  • While I have seen this movie several times when I was younger, I guess I never really watched it.

I never really noticed how subtly Scrooge's personality is changing between the ghosts's individual visits. Now the story really makes sense. This is a classic movie that can not be overshadowed by a CGI graphics-fest retelling.

This is how to make a classic movie; with skilled actors who can show even the slight changes a character goes through, clever music, and subtle humor.

  • @Skyfighter64 I wholeheartedly amen to that :)

  • Best Christmas movie ever!

I agree about Michael Cane being the best scrooge too. The only thing that would make this Muppet movie better would be if after it ends it replays itself right away!

That or it goes right into the Muppet family Christmas video

  • movies like this are the perfect christmasmovies, they should be more on tv but they aren't annymore send out on tv. it's like they are old fassion. i saw scrooge with only people and not with the muppets manny times but also sisi and westsidestory are perfect for this christmasfeeling

  • chris nolan should get michael to sing in the next batman

@8mycrab Thank you for sending me this.

  • 1 person needs to be stopped from reproducing

  • @sandwichhuman Now, that's not a very Christmasy sentiment, is it? More likely one person needs to be visited by three spirits to teach him or her the true meaning of Christmas or the holiday of his or her choice.

  • 0:49 SOCIALISM

  • In Scotland it is now officially the best day of the year So Merry Christmas

  • I LOVE THIS SONG. I woke up with it in my head, merry Christmas everyone :) Such a nice message for ANY holiday

  • Something about the muppets Christmas songs always get to me And Is it just me or does scrooges nephews wife have a very beautiful smile :) merry Christmas

  • one person will get a visit from 3 ghosts on Christmas eve.

  • i LOVE micheal caine!

  • they should really show this movie every year. I don't think it's showing in Sydney, Australia this year.

It's a shame because this is probably the best Christmas Movie ever made.

This song is my favourite song in the whole movie and it always brings out the christmas spirit and gives that warm heartful feeling. First Verse is magnificent especially with the back up from the muppets and instruments.

  • One of the best Christmas songs...EVER!

  • It's impossible to watch this without smiling.

  • Michael Cane, let's be best friends.

  • Who the hell disliked this video?

  • @shimmeramaful i was jokin man

  • 1:43, that sign on the shop in the background, is it me but do you think it says "Statler and Waldorf"?

  • @edwardelricfangirl1 Who knew, right?

  • rofl 2:08 it says "statler and waldorf" on the bulding behind them!! osmsauce XD

  • This song brings me happiness and joy everytime I watch it! I feel like I'm going to rise about 10 feet off the chair right now!
