  • Dennis has an amazing voice!

  • @sewerrod What!?!?! Shut up!!! You make no damn since!!!

  • dont look back for paul and maybe eddie

  • This is just FANTASTIC!!!! :-)

  • Where's Eddie?????

  • Dennis says "I want to thank God for the opportunity to sing with this group." David is right behind him thinking, "Thank me, mother-blam!-er!"

  • Happy Birfday!!!!!!!

  • I am one of the lucky ones that got to see the original Temptations perform and then I got to seem them again when Dennis had replaced David. This made me cry.

  • I believe Hall & Oates were presenters that night. If you are in love with tight vocal group harmony, Please check out " Stone Harmony" on youtube!

  • The song is called 'don't look back'. Check it out, it's great!

  • I like the song they were singing that got me wondering if they were just closing with a random song or did they actually sung this song on any of their albums.

  • Man Melvin had a powerful voice. Just say a few words and he would have them panties flying.lol Greatest bass ever and greatest group ever.

  • They were, at their peak the fiercest group in the business hands down! It was a pleasure to see them together again for that last time...

  • I'VE LOVED THE TEMPTATIONS SENCE I WAS 3 YEARS OLD. I WOULD LOVE TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THAT GROUP. IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO ON WHO TO CONTACT FOR AN AUDITION PLEASE CONTACT ME AT emanrobinson@hotmail.com THANK YOU ALL FOR THE GREAT POST.

  • That line up right there!! Dennis Edwards, Otis Williams, Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin and David Ruffin, if they could have just made one more album right around that time it would still be a classic today.

  • GREATEST MEN GROUP OF ALL TIME, THE TEMPTIN' TEMPTATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that freestyle at the end shows they could get down anytime or anywhere.....

  • I think that it is unfortunate that some people feel as though Hall and oaks should not be on stage with the tempts. Some of our greatest entertainers can be overshadowed by unfortunate circumstances, which was the case with David&Eddie, H&O had been admirers of the tempts from the 60's. H&O felt as though they could re-vitalized ED&DAV fame if they took them on tour with them. They helped ea other by tapin into ea othe fan base. So wht is the prob of them being on stage with the tempts?

  • Dennis is my Man! Dont look back

  • Dennis is my Man!

  • to the reason hall and oates were up there they also shared the same song writers to motown i believe i saw it on vh1 recently

  • Great to see their ACTUAL Hall of Fame introduction! God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great New Year!

  • Omg Sleep In peace to David also:(

  • Tearz:( I was born n 1979 n my mom is a Motown fanatic(she named me after smokey robinson daughter smh) anywho I was raised on the temps like they was my godfathers..I wish I was able to meet them like my mom did and there music is a soundtrack to my life I luv them sleep in peace Eddie Paul blu...

  • It was disrespectful for Hall & Oats to be in the picture. It was the Temps' moment. Since when presenters take pictures with the inductees? These men have struggled in their public and personal lives as Temps since the early 60s. They paid their dues. H&O was nowhere to be found then.

  • Eddie Kendricks is adorable with his falceto voice....lol

  • Darryl and John probably introduced the group and presented the award... Then got swept away with the moment, they're soul singers in their own right. Remember they started with Gamble & Huff...

  • Eddie already knew the crowd was gonna react to Melvin's voice that's why he whispered in Oats ear and started cracking up.lol

  • This reminds me of when they first started out just smilin and talking amongst themselves. Edddie K. is my fav and he's like walkin around in the background it's so adorable. He's still a cutiepie. love it!!!!

  • Love the Temptation. I would have love to meet them in this life time. May they all rest in peace.

  • GREAT MOMENT -MAY g-D LET THEM ALL REST IN PEACE!!!!

  • If you listen closely, you can hear they all had that same resonance when they spoke~this is why vocally when they sang , We heard and to this day!~can still hear the beautiful tones we call the Temptations!! forever BABY!!~

  • They were all so tall and handsome in their prime and Melvin Franklin and Sherman Garnes of the Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers had the most deep voices ever goodness!

  • 0 (ZERO DISLIKES) That's not only respect, but recognition of true MUSIC and true TALENT. Temptations, FOREVER!!!

  • Thank you for this timeless piece!! I am sorry I missed this. I don't know why BET, or TVOne won't do a lifetime tribute 2 these guys - who paved the way for today's "boy groups". The audience should have given this group a thunderous applause and a standing ovation. Shame, Shame, Shame!

  • I've been looking for a clip of the Temptations being inducted in the Hall of Fame. That is a classic piece of history for the Classic Five and Dennis Edwards. Much Love! I can't figure out why Hall and Oates were up there with them. That was the Temptations moment, not theirs. They sang a beautiful tribute of Don't Look Back to Paul Williams, which was the song that Paul sang lead on. David Ruffin died 2 years later and Eddie Kendricks died 3 years later. Melvin Franklin died 6 years later.

  • @tommiexander

hall and oates are up there because at the time Hall & Oates were doing some shows with Ruffin & Kendricks.

That is all I know, look it up, I'm not a huge Temps fan. The only reason I have this vid is because I'm a big Stones fan and they were inducted the same night.

  • @rcc663

I know that Hall and Oates were doing shows with David and Eddie at that time. Anybody could have been doing shows with David and Eddie at that time, but that don't mean that they were supposed to be up there with The Temptations while they were inducted in the Hall Of Fame. The induction was for the Temptations only. Hall and Oates were not a part of the Temptations. They just had done some shows with Eddie and David during that time.

  • @tommiexander Hall and Oates are there because they are big fans of The Temptations, and asked the Hall of Fame to be the ones to induct them.

  • @williamg2552, I'm a HUGE Temps fan and have no problem with Hall & Oats being up on stage. Apparently The Temps didn't have a problem with it either. They all seem to be really enjoying themselves, so who are we to say who should be on stage and who shouldn't?

  • @tommiexander Hall and Oates were/are huge Temps fans and as was said before, doing concerts with Ruffin and Kendricks.

  • @tommiexander Daryl and John inducted the Temps into the Hall of fame.

  • @tommiexander Loved them all, especially Melvin..............

  • Is that Hall & Oats on stage with theTemptations?

  • @svhecjb

Yes, it is Hall and Oates.

  • Wow. Like the tribute to Paul there with Don't Look Back!

  • onw of the greatest groups of all time!

  • Looking back on this history makes you be happy they were inducted within the next 10 years they will mostly be gone to that Motown Review in the sky

  • Temptations Forever!!!!!!!!!!

  • whew melvin scared me lol

  • Comment removed

  • @slotra187 I'm a huge Temptation/David Ruffin fan. I probably could help you! But the link you posted doesn't work.

  • @sugarbaby567 thanks for tryin to help me i finally found it thank you anyways.

  • @slotra187 i found it!!! it's the live performance with him and eddie kendricks.

    here's the video: watch?v=8IXfmZpGUZo

around 4:24 - 4:44 is where he's talking and around 6:07 is where he starts singing "it's you that i need"

  • @twt6389 omg!! thank you, thank you so much, much love <3<3 i was trying to find it for months this made my day thank you :)

  • Wow just think bout all that talent on that stage. unbelievable. The greatest group ever.

  • It's too bad Otis couldn't work his differences out with the others at the time. They looked like they were dying to sing together again. You can see the love and brotherhood amongst them, it was very real.

  • Dennis Edwards had such a powerful voice. Love that they got their recognition.

  • lol when melvin starts to speak :D i love his voice

  • THESE BRUTHAS BROUGHT SUCH A BEAUTIFUL UNDYING GIFT TO THE WORLD AND I CAN SAY WITH DEEP PRIDE THAT I WAS A WITNESS IN THE STREETS OF DETROIT AND WHENEVER I HEAR EM I START TO CRY WITH TEARS OF JOY!!! THANK YOU TEMPS.. TEMPS FOREVER!!!

  • Oh my God.... ! what a beautiful voice Melvin had, rest in peace dear heart.

  • This really touched me to watch. Through all the hard times and tribulations, in the end the music was all that mattered. I honestly think that The Temps are the epitome of soul, grace and style. What incredible talent! We need more young artisst who try to emulate these legends. Rest in peace Paul, David, Eddie & Melvin and all the best to Otis and Dennis. God Bless the Tempin' Temptaions!!!

  • This was great and Melvin did make me a little happy when he started talking lol

  • Greatest male soul group ever!! David Ruffin and Dennis Edwards were the "Voices "amazing talent.

    Jeanie B. Fort Worth, Texas

  • @Scully019 - Paul and Eddie were more like it , along with David, Dennis was great also, but not an original.

  • At least the guys had this moment together ... always nice to watch this.

  • I'm grateful that they inducted the Original Temps and Dennis while Eddie David & Melvin were still alive to feel the love. This was a beautiful ceremony.

  • This brings back wonderful memories. I was and still am a "Temptophile" for life!!!

  • hall and oates please exit the stage you morons!

  • @treyspr

they rescued those guys, esp Ruffin and Kendricks. morons?

  • To see on key like that without warming out first just shows how great they were !

  • Wow, this is the real hall of fame clip! I know the one from the movie and this is the real deal..awesome :)

  • BIG ups and much love to Paul Williams....the man!

  • temptations forever!

  • i love the little singing at the end !!!

THANKS YOU GOD FOR THE TEMPTATIONS !!

  • i like the smile that david and ottis get after melvin begins to speak XD lol

  • Oh I appreciate this post. thank you so much!!!

  • How could you not love Melvin! What a great guy he was! It was so sad when he died!

  • Hall and Oates don't belong on the same stage with them. Joke.

  • My favorite part is when David Ruffin tries to take the lead at 4:52 and then really gets into it at 4:56. He has so much soul in just those two little lines.

  • Ha. Notice at 4:46, Otis is the only one who messes up. David and Eddie begin singing the "Past is behind you" part and it takes Otis a while to realize it. He's still trying to sing the "Don't Look Back" words. And his face/eyebrows are priceless when he realizes it. Check it out.

  • inducted by the great Hall and Oates. Why have hall and oates been snubbed by the HOF for so many years?

  • Thank U Baby!!! 4 this clear video....Melvin got to me with that scripture,U can hear

the church all in them..Dennis gospel voice (Lord have Mercy) I feel Like shouting!!!

Temptations !!! One of the best groups that ever was. Rip. David ,Eddie, Melvin.Paul~

  • Whoever you are that posted this video you did a wonderful service to the viewers of YouTube.Thankyou so much very much.

  • WOW!!!

  • is that frank zappa in the backround?

  • Was Kendricks the first speaker?

  • @sandrochatlos1 YUP! kendricks was the first speaker

  • These guys have more time at the mik than the oscars. Maybe because no one cares about the Oscars. ps-- according to the movie, David Ruffin got lots of ass, lol, but it was sad the story these guys went through with the loss of david, paul, eddie and then blue at the end. Otis always said that Blue's low "cash" baritone voice always made the ladies melt, lol. Love the temps !!! :))

  • Great video, loved hearing them together. I think it was bittersweet for all, and Paul Williams lives on through his son Paul Williams Jr who is singing with Dennis Edwards & The Temptations Review. The box set "The Emporers of Soul" has several early songs with Paul singing lead. We are all flawed human beings, I've wondered many times what could have been done about Paul's illness, David's drug use, and who called the dam police to arrest Eddie after David's funeral for back child support?

  • This was nice

  • which one is otis

  • I CAN'T STAND OTIS.

  • @simon10177 Why do you dislike Otis Williams? Is it because of the movie? Curious.

  • @Mistuhbig IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF THE MOVIE. HE NEVER SANG A HIT IN HIS MUTHERFUCKEN LIFE. HE WAS RUNNING SHIT AND HE WAS JUST A BACKROUND DANCER.

  • @simon10177 I see. Some people wondered about the truth of Otis Williams account for the movie because he is the only one in the original lineup who is still alive. He was painted in the movie somewhat as the spokesperson of the group with few flaws.

  • R.I.P. Ollie Woodson also. The best of all times!!!!

  • R.I.P. Ollie Woodson also.

  • I love it...for the moment they were friends again.

  • R.I.P. Paul Williams, Melvin Franklin, David Ruffin, and Eddie Kendricks

  • Temptations are my all time favorite singing group. Especially in the beginning , they knew how to touch your heart & soul. They will remain in mine forever. Thank you Temps for all your beautiful music & the ability to sing it for us to enjoy..........peace forever.

  • I almost wanted to cry when I saw this.

  • This was great. I love the Tempations. Thank you to who ever posted this video

  • Eddie and his fine ass!!!

  • @MzJanuary lol i think Dennis Edwards was the sexiest lol

  • That was a epic moment. It was too real and too passionate. It's like these guys never left this earth. But they'll never leave our hearts. R.I.P. Temptations (Paul, Eddie, David and Melvin). Y'all will truly be missed. As for Otis and Dennis, hang in there brothas.

  • Thank you so much for this priceless video!

  • Thank you so much for this priiceless video!

  • WOW.that was great. i so glad that they all got together before they started passing away. wow time really flies.

  • WOW what a great video!!!!

  • I am so glad everyone agrees on this great video. The men behind the music. R.I.P peace all that have left us.

  • Thank you so much "rcc663" for posting such a wonderful, heartfelt video. This video just makes me so emotional. I love my Temptations. They truly are, by far my favorite group of all time. They deserved this honor along with every other honor they received because they put the Lord first and worked hard to get where they were. I love them all forever and may God bless them through all of eternity. Temptations....FOREVER.

  • Thankyou rcc663 for posting this excellent video. It is the only video clip that is clear and enjoyable all at the same time. Love it and once again thanks for the post.

  • And the Mention of Ali Woodson!

  • Every boy band that came after tried to imitate the Temptations. There were the greatest male singing group of ALL time. God Bless them forever!

  • @Bychance37 Also all the girls just knew they were going to be the next Diana Ross & the Supremes.

  • @hydeparkmac Exactly!

  • @Bychance37 i meet Mr. Dennis EDwards in a st.louis barbre shop, i was maybe 17, i didn't know who he was be he was soo nice and down to earth, i told he that a movie was coming out about the temp. and he said that beyonce is a great singer.....

  • @tbeyah Wow I'll bet that was awesome. So he liked Beyonce? Wow who knew, thanks for telling me that I loved the Temptations, all of them.

  • @Bychance37 you got that right

  • thank you for posting this... I enjoyed it tremendously. I appreciate the years of enjoyment I have received from the Temptations. My life would not have been the same without their contribution.

  • Dennis was so awesome.

  • thanks for posting the cler version and for one moment in time...they were all one again....amazing. There will never be another group like the temps....music needs to get back to real singing like this, where you can feel the song not just all the instrumentation....ol school is the best school

  • seeing this video bring tears to my eyes i wish they had got back together at the end

  • David Ruffin was not unconfortable. I don`t know what you are seeing.Ruff 'Da MAN'

  • Oh Yes thank you rcc663. So glad I can see this video. The previous one one was not clear. People were making comments regarding Eddie Kendrick behaviour. As far I i can now see he behaved OK and seemed very happy like the rest of the group. Its a pity Paul Williams was not there.

  • A Treasure! Now I can see what I had been listening to before and I can't stop watching. Thank you!!

  • The Temptations will always be remembered. I loved them all. Past and present.

  • quality well done boys !

  • Damn this is clear as HD....lol...(i know, pretty corny) but thanks 4 posting this up...where u get ur footage from?...u can leave the secret in my inbox...thanks

  • Thnx alot for the Video !!!!

ive been looking everywhere for this !!!

i got thrills when they sang !!!

    TEMPTATIONS FOREVER

  • YES YES YES thank you thank you for this CLEARER version......awesome!!!!!!

  • Dennis, always gracious--Eddie, always fine, David, personality man, great to see them all together and remembering Paul

  • The Bible verse he quotes is actually Deut. 3:24

  • :@CofCGuy:Yeah, I checked it out and it is indeed actually Dueteronomy 3:24.

  • Ruffin probably realized what a fool he was for so many years. He threw away what could have been a long carer with the Temps, but his ego and drugs got in the way. Then he split them up with his bullshit. Dont get me wrong, Im a big fan of David and his great voice but standing up there he should have been uncomfortable. Thanks for posting this video--gives me chills to see the boys together.

  • I notice that david seems a little uncomfortable here. David was very articulate man and everyone knows the man could SANG, but me, i liked his voice way better in the 80's and 90's. In the 90's right before his death - he performed, 'i wish it would rain" POWERFUL ! way better than the 60's i wish it would rain.

  • I agree....David Ruffin....a music legend...and that voice.....Powerful!

  • :@totaly52: Ruffin was uncomfortable here because bigtimcny took the words right outta my mouth he probably realizeed what statue of a fool his ego and drug use made him and ruined what could have been a great long career with The Tempts.

Oh, Did anyone notice Eddie at some points (especially when Otis was speaking on the microphone) also looked uncomfortable, wonder why.

  • totaly52@Jennykate1985 Great point you and bigtimcny made about David. On the other temptation hall of fame vedio (the blurryy one) there are comments on there about eddie and the way he was acting when otis was speaking. Interesting.

  • @Jennykate1985 ,Eddie didnt look uncomfortable at all,he looked normal

  • @totaly52 o yea i agree with you as the older he got the better his vocie got

  • @a1992aron We defintely can agree on that.

  • This is great! That was als in the Movie Temptations as well! They had the same hairstyles and evreything! I love The Temps! Thanks rcc663 for posting!

  • Thank you rcc663 - we finally have a clear vedio.

  • Finally...a HQ vid...Love it! Look at my Eddie...how cute is he....Great Footage! Ohhh My...Eddie looks so Fine! Thank you rcc663 for this Legendary Post!

  • Comment removed

  • YEAH ! How appropriate is the name sweet eddie, but I'll add fine, cute, gracious, adorable, talented, charming, and oh yeah, SEXY ! cute: @3:28 eddie is whispering to john to watch the audience response at melvin's voice.

  • :@totaly52: AMEN!!, FINALLY NO MORE X-RAY VISIONS NEEDED!!!!!.

  • i love how they played dont look back, rip paul eddie and david

  • The two men who introduced them Hall and Oates have been repeatedly snubbed by the Hall of Shame for years.
