  • @radiodjontheair I understand what u r going through, I lost my Nana to a heart Attack in June and she had full millitary honors

  • My grandfather died in 2001.

    He served in, WWII, Vietnam, and Korea.

    He was in the 101st, airborne.

    Bloody red one, Screaming Eagle.

    My dad was in the Rangers, during Vietnam. He run special operations for the Special Forces, for three tours. '68,'69,'70.

    I'm in OCS to become an Officer in the United States Army.

  • Thank you for this video, i am joining the army reserve next week, and i thought it would be appropriate to see the sacrifices that so many distinguished men and women have offered our great nation.     I am sorry for your loss. My dad passed 4 years ago this month, yet it seems like only yesterday he was reading me a story, helping me fix my car, and the myriad other things a dad is to his child.

    May the memory of your dad live on forever in the faces of his family now, and in those to come.

  • Sorry for your lost. I know it's hard, i've been through it myself with my father and now shortly with my stepfather. My stepfather is dieing of cancer. Though i know both don't relate to Army, both my father and stepfather are former firemen and always put out a giving hand to help there neighbor and countrymen.   • I'm sure it is. My family has also lost loved ones who served in the military. My stepfather passed on in 2005 - just 16 months after marrying my mother. She also had cousins and uncles who didn't make it home during WWII.

  • I'm sorry for your loss....I just lost my grandfather on Nov 23, 2008....he was in the Army and fought in WWII and Korea, was a Philadelphia Police Officer, and a U.S. Marshall....this reminds me of him

Each one endows me with more and more respect and love for ech and every service member, and pushes me to do my best and be the best i can be.   • im very soryo for your loss. my dad has died too. he as jogging in the cold morning back home until he had a serious heart attack and fell on the street floor. he had cardiomiopathy(fattening around the heart) i know that your father served our country and i support you and your family. condolences. god bless you have a good day. :)

  • God Bless him. I'm terribly sorry for his loss. I forget who, but at the end of the movie "American Soldiers" there was a quote by a general. He stated that every soldier's loss is a national tradegy. My everlasting thanks to him and may he rest in eternal everlasting life and peace in the house of the Lord Almighty.

  • Hooah... He died a soldier... I'm stationed in South Korea... Planning on going Officer and maybe being a Colonel one day like your father. I'm sure he was loved and appreciated by more then he knew... Many don't understand what it is to put on that uniform, but the day you do, is the day you become a Savior...

  • Well it is coming up on 1 year since my father has passed and I can not beleive he is gone still to this day. I know he is looking down upon myself and my family and also watching over the many soldiers that are at war currently defending our country.   • My Father died of Cancer, He lived a fantastic life and to almost make it to 87 years old, all I can say is WOW.

  • Wow...was that the daughter or granddaughter who received the flag? Either way, she should be proud of the honor. Although I received a flag at my father's burial...it was not THE burial flag.

  • That was my daughter who received the flag. She is an Explorer with The Palm Beach Sheriffs Office. I was too shook up to do receive it so I asked her to do it for me.
