My grandfather died in 2001.

He served in, WWII, Vietnam, and Korea.

He was in the 101st, airborne.

Bloody red one, Screaming Eagle.

My dad was in the Rangers, during Vietnam. He run special operations for the Special Forces, for three tours. '68,'69,'70.

I'm in OCS to become an Officer in the United States Army.

I am sorry for your loss. My dad passed 4 years ago this month, yet it seems like only yesterday he was reading me a story, helping me fix my car, and the myriad other things a dad is to his child.

Sorry for your lost. I know it's hard, i've been through it myself with my father and now shortly with my stepfather. My stepfather is dieing of cancer. Though i know both don't relate to Army, both my father and stepfather are former firemen and always put out a giving hand to help there neighbor and countrymen. I'm sure it is. My family has also lost loved ones who served in the military. My stepfather passed on in 2005 - just 16 months after marrying my mother. She also had cousins and uncles who didn't make it home during WWII.

I'm sorry for your loss....I just lost my grandfather on Nov 23, 2008....he was in the Army and fought in WWII and Korea, was a Philadelphia Police Officer, and a U.S. Marshall....this reminds me of him
