The love and devotion a dog shows, especially a dachshund, is one of the great gifts a person can receive. I have had dachshunds all my life. Fritz, Otto, Herman & Heidy, Missy,( all passed on now) and currently have 13 year olds Dax & Mae. All so very different personalities.

One of the great joys and blessings in my life and they occupy a special place in my heart that obviously some of the other dachsy companions appreciate. thanks for sharing your feelings and pictures.

I lost my sweet boy today he was 17 years and 316 days. I believe that love and friendship is eternal and I would give anything to have my boy back, but he was very sick at the time and he had no fight left so very sadly I had to let him go, and the funny thin is he was a dachshund cross and even looked like your Tess. But the tribute is lovely. Thank you

Nice tribute, Tess is the splitting image of my mums dog "Charlie" who lived to the ripe old age of 19, its more than sad when a family pet passes, people who write things like "its only a dog" are missing out on something, they should have a bit more sympathy toward the person who has had the loss.Some people have pets as surrogate children and to them losing a pet IS like losing a family member.

my mom had rescued a black lab when she was younger she named her tipsie and when i was born she was 4 years old when it was 2010 on ester brake it was 5:00 at night and she died on that tuesday it was sad but we have her ashes on our table but i am sorry about your loss

when i see an animal die, especially dogs, i cry my eyes out. its just so sad to see an innocent and loving animal die. i cant really explain how emotional i get when i see animals die. sorry for your loss of one of the best kind of dog breeds in the world. i hope you dont get sad every day thinking about them.
