i was pissed when i finished this game because i remeber there were more places i wanted to explore i think there was one called trolls mountain or something i wanted to go there
doesn't feel like a "true end", look up Hexen 2 Agent Of Chaos. It would've been another sequel and a possible, true end, but was abandoned a while ago, a year after Portal Of Praevus was released
The only thing that we can really be sure of is that Heretic happened first, than Hexen .... their sequels happened somewhen after each original game, but the order is never really given ... we have no idea how long Corvus was wandering the outer worlds ... perhaps it was the defeat of the last Serpent Rider that allowed him to finally return? We'll never know probably.
I enjoyed this game so much.The creators did an excvellent job.The only thing I can't stand is the fact that the game is very short.When I played it for the first time I needed only a few days to finnish.
In my honest opinion, I didnt like Corvus' voice, it sounded too "powerful and majestical" if you know what I mean.
Plus his hood and cape was gone which dissappointed me. Not saying that it's a bad game though, it looks really good, I'm just a bit nostalgic and find it hard to adapt to how Heretic 2 is.
Silversprings Docks, Darkmire Swamps, the Kell Mountains, Ogle Mines, and finally, Morcalavin's Inner Sanctum. Man, what a memorable journey that was.
After watching this, I'm tempted to dig out my copy of Heretic II and install it just to play it again.
For a game that was written in 98 (I think it was), it had a very stable game engine. Rarely did I see texturing problems arise during game play. A true classic. Thanks for posting.
the first one was good to. it was my fav. fps growing up. i always wanted to know what happens after you kill d'sparil...but i never played the 2nd one.
After you kill d'sparil, that's it, the game is done. It starts rolling the credits. I was hoping that something else would happen or continue, but nope, that was it.
an i was planning another n which corvus faces hell, gets shield of different types, including a rock and lava body shield, 3 levels of each weapon, one in it´s normal form, oter with some of magic and the 3rd from the hell, all awesome, but it semms that that version of heretic has to wait (maybe in 20 years)
A nice game. But not the mysterious feel of the first or Hexen (well Hexen were quite gloomy too) games. But it's a good thirp person action game. :) The weapons are really nice. A handle that can transform into 2 staffs, cool looking spells and 2 magic bows. :D
After finding 7, and disabling the false tome, you disable the forcefield preventing you from placing yours in - corvus finally places his tome in. Unfortunatly, corvus wasted too much time, and there was enough power recieved (the green stuff) to create the spell to destroy everything and purify Pathoris.
I know I'm late, and you probably solved it already, but the whole plague speel made the Parthoris' residents mad. Even mighty Seraphs (Morcalavis race) has fallen. The reason why the Ascension spell (makes one immortal) didn't work and turned into plague was that M had 6 tomes and needed 7, and since Corvus had one (Heretic1) he made a false one. Bad move. Putting the correct one and repeating the chants corrected the spell, thus purifying Parthoris and terminating maddness (making M good)...

No that's not the order, Hexen and Hexen 2 took place 1000 years after Heretic story.
