  • Fuck going green. I'm white mother fuckers. I'll burn my diesel gas in my front yard all god damn day.

  • Yeah yeah I still love my suburban. I don't give a crap paying 100 bucks per full up. However we need to invade another country for more oil hahahaha lol!!!!

  • i prefer my BMW 4.6 V8, doing about 15mpg, and my GT500 mustang for weekends thanks. if you cant afford to run a decent car, dont. if your a green-eyed eco dick, buy a bike

  • in USA you can say that, USA has cheaper fuel, and who wants to be "green" can go bike safely...Have you ever been on Brazil? we really need a green car, and don't have it, our fuel is a joke.

  • I have a question!

If batteries can be recycled does that mean if you have enough Prius, will it mean nickel mining will be reduced?

  • @MeganoOdles you had to mine that somwhere in the first place ... its basicly mined from poor countries that dont mind the environment so that America can say "it doesnt destroy our air at all" well yes because its actually imported parts from all over the world where the demage is done ...

  • ugh. I was JUST looking in to researching more about the Prius. I did look into it about a year or so ago, but as always- the battery is expensive. I hear horror stories about how people pay too much for maintenance on them. Nevermind a Prius... I'm going for a car that won't come with bad surprises in the long run!

  • To bad recent studies show hybrids don't help at all. In the best scenario it would take 5 years to break even on pricing with gas savings @ 15k miles per year. The actual production and shipping of the batteries nil your earth fuel savings before you even get the car. Hybrids can be very expensive to repair, and the batteries only last 8-10 years so your car depreciates in value by around 3000 bucks on year 7 since the battery will decrease in performance. Keep your old car you save 20k.

  • My car with TDI has better MPG. My car has better build quality. My car has bigger cabin space and booth. My car is half that price. My car produces same CO2. My car is very pretty looking. My car is fun to drive and still the noise is not there. My car is build without less environmental ddemage. So what would be the reason to buy Prius for me? Please tell me im really interested in aswering that question. (Im from Europe)

  • @HowkeyLL Money. A TDI costs more to buy. Also in America diesels are both more expensive and less efficient than in Europe due to the extra emissions hardware needed to meet our stricter emission standards. Diesel fuel is also more expensive than gasoline.

Look at cars dot com to see what used Prii sell for compared to used diesels (which there are almost none of anyways).

  • @JrgrimWoW well in Europe the price of fuel is twice as big than in USA. But the TDI is used more. With emissions - Europe has tougher rules but there are exceptions. So it depends on car manufacturer which standard he will meet. Better brands like VW, Audi etc they meet the standards and also produce "green" versions of their most popular cars, VW Bluemotion, Skoda greenline etc. its just that i hate when i see some friend from USA buying 6 litre car saying it got good 20 mpg like yesterday.

  • @JrgrimWoW For example:

    Prius - 68 mpg

Skoda superb Greenline - 56mpg (limousine)

Skoda Octavia Greenline - 65 mpg (family car)

    Skoda Fabia Greenline - 82 mpg !!!!

  • @HowkeyLL well said. buy a BMW 318d. better built, only couple of hundred quid more, much better mpg with `efficient dynamics`, better performance, better ride, and more entertaining. in fact, i could be discribing any decent modern tdi saloon

  • @75cammo exactly, any up-to-date European car is likely to hit the same mpg as Prius or better with actual "car" in the car. Thats what many Americans doesnt know because they are not told and sry but they mostly think only "USA" is the world. There are exceptions but the basic is true sadly, its like China only Americans dont care about the rest of the world and china prohibits it. Whats worse of those two ?

  • Damn so Chevron is going to make hundred's of Billions of dollars off the new lithium battery car age! They got a monopoly on lithium batteries!!

  • I remember when the Prius was first introduced to the North American market. While I loved the thinking behind the hybrid idea (and I still like the idea behind it), I thought the appearance wasn't. I thought the car was (to say the least) the ugliest thing on 4 wheels. I couldn't imagine anyone buying a car that looked like a jelly bean on wheels. It looked too small to be comfortable. I couldn't picture taxi businesses using it, etc.

  • toyota prius = shit

  • Oh and yes, how people pay money for this ugly piece of car instead of buying a modern diesel (which can be superior to prius in every aspect, especially enviroment friendly), is beyond me. Guess Toyota fools alot of people with their "young couple/family-safety" commercials.

  • Has nobody heard of hydro electric dams? That's renewable clean energy.

  • clean ..renewable energy..electric cars... really run on coal....so much for electrics....

  • The title of this clip should be Sabotaging Toyota. Jetta tdi is diesel, not every gas pump still has diesel. When you bring up Prius, you have already surrendered the acceleration, the feel, the comfort. Prius was never built or meant for those things. I want to spend my money other than gasoline, that's all I care.

  • get a real car, buy a jetta tdi, 50mpg, batteries not required

  • @renefern jetta tdi only gets 42 mpg highway.

  • @Unclesamslair Mine gets 50+mpg

  • @renefern good for you. no, seriously I'm not being sarcastic

  • @RandomConcepts Yes, but Hydrogen is the most adundent element in the universe. It will never run out. Honda already do a hydrogen powered version of the Clarity. When hydrogen power takes off, which it will, it will be sustainible and clean fuel for cars. Electric cars are a waste of energy and a drain on the enviroment. After all, the electricity needed comes from power stations that are either coal, gas, oil or nuclear powered.

  • @chrismarkbicknell lol you just watched topgear

  • @RandomConcepts Thats why I like the Ethanol research and the biofuel for diesels. I was placed with a decision of Buying a Prius or saving money and going out and getting a 1982 Mercedes 240D, yea its not fast nor modern but I can run biodiesel, veggie oil or anything of the like. I say actually put time and money into research into finding new fuels for the vehicles instead of going full electric. Lets replace fossil fuels. IMO Hydrogen vehicles is a waste of time and energy, no future.

  • @adamslurch71 Are you joking? Biofuel? You know that thousands of people in this world have to starve because of some idiots who think that biofuel is good for the enviroment?

  • @FerrariSpirit91 And how do people starve from use of biofuel? I take the used veggie oil from a Mexican restaurant, strain it, make sure its clean and use it as fuel, I'm using what would normally be considered waste. Or are you mad that I'm not paying $4 a gallon for diesel b/c I don't feel the need to give the oil companies anymore profit, they already make tens of billions in profit, deal with the fact that I'm using a waste product instead of relying on a foreign country for oil.

  • @adamslurch71 Just because you get your biofuel this way, not everyone does it the same way. Here in europe farmers sell their stuff to companys who make biofuel out of it because they pay much more then food companys. This causes two things, more expensive food and less food. I will never ever buy a car which forces me to rely on fuel produced this way.

  • @FerrariSpirit91 So instead you would rather just buy gas from a station that gets it oil from an over seas country that more than likely uses the profit form the oil sales to further their own political agenda. Nice well I see where you stand and hat you dont really care about the environment or you would know that making one Prius is worse for the environment that driving a Hummer around for a decade. check out what it takes to make a hybrids batteries. mining, processing, everything.

  • @adamslurch71 Dude you missunderstood me. Im against the Prius too. I care about the enviroment, I use my bycicle very often and most times I travel with train or the bus, instead of using my car. But I just don`t want to support companys which cause the lack of food for development countrys. And you don`t have to tell me about how to manufacture hybrid battries, im studying mechanical engineering myself. Right now the best way to save the enviroment ist drive your car less.

  • @adamslurch71 Dude, about that hummer vs prius report, you should look at the numbers and subsequent reports that thoroughly debunks that piece of garbage people like you like to quote from. They inflated hummer's lifetime numbers and reduced the prius'. Because the battery does at a lot of pollution up front, that tactic works well to dupe the ignorant.

  • @bin1127 Its not just the upfront pollution of the battery, its the after life of it as well. not everything in it can be recycled and that extra crap needs to go somewhere. Deal with the fact that he Prius is ugly as sin, useless as all hell and will never survive. there are better things on the horizon and its not a shit gas engine matted to a gutless electric motor.

  • @adamslurch71 The Prius doesn't have to be the one and end all, but it should be looked upon as the first mass production vehicle that challenges the social mores of 'bigger is better' and the oil rules all economy. Making cars more efficient and higher quality has always been possible but until Toyota went out on a limb to shake things up, everyone else stood by the status quo. So maybe the Prius does leave a lot to desire, but it sure is refreshing to see car companies getting off their ass.

  • @bin1127 You do know that oil doesn't mean shit right? its money that rules the world always has been and always will be. If Toyota wanted to go so far out on a limb and be something different then why haven't they made a diesel hybrid yet? people have been telling them for years to do it yet they don't listen. So Toyota is yet another car company that doesn't care about the people who buy their cars, only about making money.

  • @adamslurch71 So you are against all car companies? or perhaps against the relentless profiteering that is the marque of capitalism? Even if Toyota is not genuinely aiming for sustainability, it has shaken up the industry enough to show that innovation is welcomed and helped frame the old titans of industry as debilitating impediments to better cars for everyone. I'm not cheering on Toyota specifically but I support all attempts to improve and remove us from the current stagnation.

  • @bin1127 Well its been 20 years since this technology has been out there where are the massive improvements on it? where are the hybrids that are fast yet economical? has anyone hit that 100mpg mark yet? No not even Toyota can, they have in 20 years gained only 15 mpg more than when they started. Why waste time on a technology that's failing so badly?

  • @RandomConcepts With any luck Hybrids will soon be a thing of the past. The fuel of the future is Hydrogen. Have a look at the Hydrogen powered Honda Clarity and it's a revalation. Hydrogen is an unlimited resource, causes no enviromental damage to source and the only by product would be water. Hybrids are nothing but a stop gap until Hydrogen powered cars really come to the fore.

  • @RandomConcepts So you like the Prius because of its "green" image? There's more to cars than that.

Oh please, its utter bullshit that people like you force "respect of the environment" upon everyone else through laws. It's not like you even give people much of a choice, only the option between "be green or pay up". People who actually LIKE cars and driving absolutely hate all these "green" laws and hypermilers on the road. For me, protecting the environment does not come before enjoying life.

  • @Imscared4u Except you're not mate. THat is the great Myth with Hybrids. They are no more economical then a good quality and modern diesel. For example, I drive a 1.8 ltr Ford FOcus TDCI and when driven economically I have managed to get 680 miles out of a 45 ltr tank. Where my car differs from yours is that when I want to have fun and drive I can. You're stuck dawdling along holding caravans and horses up,

  • Now, now, lets not do anything fallible. Traveling up to the sun = one way trip. Especially when you have enough gas in the tank to make it all the way back home, the sun will drink that up and spit it on your ashes.

  • i drive a prius, a lot of people drive a prius, i can tell you majority don't f**king care bout the environment. we just want to save some cash when filling the gas tank.

  • Whoever drives a prius i hope you crash into a fucking building.

  • Hey, I am watching from Singapore. I totally agree with you on your report. I owned my prius a year ago and I really enjoying drivfing it and save me alot compare to my previous car.

  • Outside his accurate reporting of the mileage, this review is crap. The car is NOT cheaply made. Consumer Reports subscribers report that Prius cars are the most reliable that you can buy - and they have been saying this for 10 years now.

  • @Imscared4u Also did a little research on battery life in the leaf. Battery layout: Under seat & floor

Battery life: After 10 years, the battery is expected to have 70-80 percent of its original storage capacity. So batteries would last a very long time. The Prius would be affected by battery cycle issues as well.

  • @Imscared4u Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion is rated at a combined 71 mpg.. The batteries in the Leaf if cycled properly would last a very long time and with newer battery technology coming out its just going to get better.

  • i would rather WALK than ever drive a prius

  • the prius is a complete joke

  • hybrids r much better than gas guzzling cars!

  • @ackoaquarius5 if u poor as fuck and hate real cars

  • I have to admit, that guy is a pretty big douche, the prius is a great car! And your hands slipping off the "plastic" steering wheel if they get sweaty? Wtf is he talking about?!?!? Small windows in weird places? Mainly for looks, not a big deal... And a screen with blinking lights that tell you nothing? Actually dumbass, that screen tells you what your car is running on. When its running on the battery, electric motor, and the gas engine. Gawd what a retard....

  • There are dozens of European diesel's that get way better gas mileage than the Prius. Why can't we get them here is beyond me. I would take the Nissan Leaf over the Prius at this point as it gets 99 mpg on the highway.

  • a 1.4 liter engine! GAAAAAYYY!!! my pontiac sunfire is a 4 cylinder, and it's a 2.2!!! what the heck!!! and ONLY 65 horses, wow, we surely have traded down BIG TIME!!!

  • its been PROVEN that for under $30000, because of the way it is produced, the prius is the most enviornmentally negligent car on sale today.

  • dont be ignorant.. prius not only saves the eco system but saves your money as well.. sure when you look at it, it doesnt mean much.. but i didn't even spend my a single penny driving from california to texas. No gas stops

  • @DedZero

I'm still in the red by a couple grand for just getting the prius vs. a similar sized gas engine.

  • @DedZero ok, but does it offer comfort to all inside even if fully packed with passengers on a long, long, long drive? if so, AWESOME!!! if not. don't know if its really worth it. i think you would agree, we are looking for comfort as much as we are to save money. Because gas prices trully are FAR too high!

  • Why do they always make hybrids so gay looking?

  • @knowsall101 I think it looks unique. I mean, better than a ghetto big rimmed car. It's all personal view. I don't like the way Fords look, but I don't bag on them.

  • @Dleedude I'm just talking about hybrids in general, you know they are ugly as hell

  • haha i thought this was a parody of TopGear for a second

  • I know. People freak out and overreact generally. A person could use this to their advantage to pick up a car that was out of favor. When Audi had that sudden acceleration problem years ago, which turned out to be no problem at all, just people hitting the acc instead of the brake, a friend bought an Audi for a huge discount from a neighbor who just wanted to get rid of the thing. It works in the stock market too, they say, buying stocks that are out of favor...like dogs of the Dow.

  • The Pruis is a very powerful car. You feel the power if you are behind me on a two-land road with no passing as I slow down to squeeze an extra MPH out of my Pruis. Since you have to slow down too, that's good for the environment and your gas mileage as well. You can thank me later...after you stop for gas.

  • The Prius is the reason people kill themselves.

  • Honda CR-Z is way better.

Prius is 2 times pricier as well

  • a diesel powered jetta gets the same mileage, better interior quality, will last at least 200k miles, cost the same as the prius and has less environmental impact

  • Have fun saving gas money evey month with that car payment. While i drive one of the best V8 engines ever put into a SUV, with all the luxury and power and offroad capability you could ever want. Call me when your prius finally equals me in money spent. That should be in the year 2021

  • A standard model prius has nothing but power windows and doors... lol My 12 year old Jeep has power everything, leather, sunroof, heated seats, heated mirrors, antireflective rear mirror, center computer, 10 speaker stereo, its a 4X4, its much bigger inside, engine has 10x more power, 6500 lbs towing capacity goes 0-60 in 6.8s vs a prius 12second You would have to own a prius for 10 years to equal what i pay in gasoline and my Jeep has one of the worst gas guzling engines ever put in a SUV

  • @1ownjoo2 You can't compare two different cars. You would have to compare a Pruis hybrid with a Pruis non-hybrid but there is no such thing. Like you say the Jeep is different. Jeep is not better because it is bigger or faster or cheaper. Like many Pruis owners, the cost of the car is not as much a concern as the fuel mileage. Still your cost comparison would have to include a resale value. If you want to find the cheapest transportation though it would not be Pruis and certainly not Jeep.

  • @dkw12002

No thats true, but my refrence is more into the cash for clunkers program, when people turned in Jeeps for $4500 that were worth over $5-6k, just because they couldnt afford the gas. I have a friend who worked a dealership during that thing, and the entire parking lot was filled with Jeeps. You know why they turned em in, because of the gas mileage. That and people wanted a new car and its a easy way to get rid of there old one but still.

  • Ok lets do the math shall we.. 2011 Prius $22k basic model prius. $350-400 a month car payment. 45mpg average 1k miles a month current gas price that equals $66 a month. Now to pay itself off it would take 5 years, so $400+66=466 a month, 466x12x5 =$27,960..

Now lets look at my gas guzzling 5.9 Liter V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee... 14mpg average and has to use premium gas. Now thats $13k in 5 years, to get to $28k it would take me 10 years in gasoline.. Man that hybrid sure looks swell now

  • This piece of junk can spell Toyota with a capital T.

  • Life is too short for hybrids, you´ll be dead before Africa sinks anyway

  • I hate hybrid cars. People think they're reducing their carbon footprint by driving them but forget that it runs on PETROL. This is the catalytic converter issue all over again...

  • Actually, Toyota is committed to recycling their batteries and 95% of the metals can be recovered from it. Also, their plant is 50% solar powered, they monitor energy waste, and the plant is coated in a paint that releases oxygen into the air. The claim by wired magazine is only based off of only making the batteries, not what happens to them after.

  • diesels dont pollute at all the smoke falls back to the ground as carbon

  • so the veredict is... the prius saves your money not the planet

  • Thayyyynks!!

  • Not Bad

  • What's the point of the Prius? Or any hybrid for that matter?

If you're an environmentalist, then you wouldn't get a Prius because of how harmful the production of the batteries is on the environment..

If you just want fuel efficiency, some clean diesel cars can get upwards of 70-80mpg and cost considerably less than the Prius..

Plus, the interior is cheaply made, the exterior is ugly, and...well..its just kinda gay..

  • @Cosmo1093

IMO, the best alternative fuel right now is CNG. CNG engine shares many common component with gasoline engine. CNG also produce considerably less carbon footprint compare to gasoline. While diesel engine have higher efficiency compare to gasoline, it requires considerably more crude oil to refine. So in the end that cancels out the MPG gain.

CNG and Ethanol are our short-term/mid-term solution for green car. EV and hybrid are our long-term solution (after more breakthrough).

  • @trumpet205 I can see problems if you get in an accident with a compressed gas tank in the car..filled with flammable gasses lol.

For the MPG gain, I meant that it would save the driver money, which it will if diesel were to become more popular in the US.. As it is, diesel barely costs more than petrol.

Ethanol is a joke lol even Al Gore now admits that it was a mistake.. The production of ethanol is terrible for the environment as well. Think about the farming, harvesting, then refining.

  • @Cosmo1093

Actually study shows CNG is much more safer compare to gasoline. With CNG, you'll need to replace compressed gas tank every 10 years period for safety. You can read more about how safe NGV online. Just google CNG safety and click the second link.

I do agree that diesel is under-populated in US. Diesel can really shines if more car in US is using them. After that maybe oil company have the incentive to introduce biodiesel.

  • @trumpet205 Although CNG tanks are extremely difficult to puncture...when punctured, extremely bad things can happen.. Also, it only has 1/4 the energy density of petrol at 3,600psi, and it generally only gets 1/2 the range of a petrol car. I don't think families will like the idea of having barely any trunk space either lol.

I just love petrol since it results in huge performance gains over other forms of fuel. 12 seconds for 0-60 in a Honda Civic GX with a 220 mile range?! That just sucks lol

  • @Cosmo1093 may be oil is running out?

  • @vitessemeister Ever heard of the abiotic oil theory? There's also a process known as thermal depolymerization which can convert ordinary garbage into oil. Plus there is still as much as 250 years left of oil anyway. I think that's sufficient. Besides, at 17, I'd rather have performance than waste energy and money "saving the environment".

If there aren't any CNG stations between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, how are people supposed to drive those 265 miles in a cars with 220 miles of range?

  • DIE ENVIOROMENT DIE

  • I don't know why Americans care so much about "0 to 60" (meaning acceleration). How many of you need to race a car to the finishing line? Acceleration is not of any practical interest to any everyday driver!

  • @kliikd

One reasn having a good 0-60 time is to avoid wrecks, or run through yellow lights, or show off, or not be a pussy, to hear the roar of your engine.

Truthfully tho, I have been in situations before when people ran red lights, and if it wasnt for the quick response of my vehicle i would have been in a wreck caused by them. My Jeep goes 0-60 in 6.8 seconds, If i were in a prius that goes 0-60 in 12 seconds i would have been dead meat.

  • At around 2:14, did he just say "America has a raging hard on for the Prius?" Why choose to use a male sexual metaphor for excitement? Why not, "America has it's tits perked up for the Prius" or "America is lactating for the Prius"?

  • The announcer sure knows how to be hip: legs a shoulder's width apart, polo shirt untucked and just at the length to emphasize a short crotch, and just enough biceps to give him a bulk arm. LOL

  • What's happened to Toyota lately? Each new car they put out is a disgrace. I bought a new Prius, and the interior is utterly disgusting. Cheap thin brittle plastic, with no soft materials to be found anywhere. The seat is shitty, and you feel every bump in the road. The engine is sluggish, and the I don't trust the brakes at all. Hell, I should have bought a Fusion, or waited for a Sonata. They both are higher quality at similar prices to the Prius. Don't get suckered in folks!

  • lol priuses are like electirc hot pockets on wheels. they r good if u can find one for cheap and want a fuel efficient car tho. hahaha i wanna see someone drop a small block chevy in there

  • The entire first minute is taken up with stuff no one cares about---we just want the review, thanks. And what's up with the "raging hard-on" comment at 2:16? Is that their way of making this blonde-haired, gleaming-toothed whitebread Ritchie Cunningham host "edgy?" Vulgarity doesn't do it, son...

  • No matter what they do, the prius is as dynamic and sporty as a soybean.

  • aka peice of shit\

  • The production of this video made me think of those videos from Topgear. The way you chop the scene and insert the sound is Topgear's style.

  • im sticking to ford trucks

  • it does more eco har 2 build and drive a pruis for 100,000miles (what its expected 2 last) than 2 build and drive a HUMMER H2 (earths arch enemy) for 300,000mile (what it lasts).omg,u can drive a H2 for 3times more miles and be more eco friendly.also,in a crash the pruis spils acid (very eco friendly, lol)

  • nice video you hippy fuck green is the biggest fucking joke if we all did watever we wanted it would make no fucking difference in the environment

  • Turbo diesel engines are cheaper & more efficient than the prius system. My ford focus 1600cc does 55MPG around town and 72MPG at a constant 70MPH with cruise control on. It cost HALF the price of a Prius and is cheaper to insure and not tied to expensive servicing bills in a Toyota garage. Anyone can service a Ford Focus. It's also a lot faster than a Prius. So why would I buy a Prius that can only drive 1mile on electric? GM are selling a new electric car next year anyway, let's wait!

  • too bad if you drive it youre a faggot. ill stick to my gas guzzling deisel.

  • ask anyone who knows anything about physics, and they will tell you the same thing i am about to. Every time there is a change in energy form, energy is lost in the form of heat energy and inefficiency of the instruments used to change it. Internal combustion engines have 1 change in energy form. Potential energy in into kinetic. In hybrids, potential energy is turned into kinetic into electrical into chemical back into electrical and back to kinetic. Thats 5 changes. Thats a lot of lost energy.

  • This guy is a dumbass. Quite frankly, he doesn't "what the blinking, distracting lights on the screen" are because he doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground. The car hardly makes any noise at all when the accelerator is pressed. He did make some valid and interesting about the battery however - which need to be taken into consideration. Overall, he seems biased and he seemed to want to find every single little fault and hardly credit anything the Prius does well.

  • you know whats funny its that the toyota prius is supposed to save all this fuel and save the envortment. but no the battery in it contains nickel from a smelter whose emissions generated acid rain that eliminated all life within miles of it

  • @strelok5831 Got any proof of that statement? I would love to read all about it. Can you supply the links or should we just take your word for it?

  • @superamerica1981 About fucking time. I like the prius as a car and how its made and works but it's an ugly piece of motherfucker shit and all of these Prius tests are pretty much littering YouTube.

  • i still prefer smokin powerstroke diesels

  • @851995STARGATE THANK GOD SOMBODY LOVES DIESELS BESIDES ME!

  • @851995STARGATE me too

  • I have a 1600cc diesel turbo, 0-60 in 10s and 120mph, 55MPG in town & 72MPG on a motorway at 70mph. Cheap to insure, tax and run. No expensive main dealer only servicing and parts. The Prius is years behind in technology and ideas! Diesel has overtaken it. The Prius would have been good in 1980, but not now. It's slow, heavy, expensive to run & insure & service. Batteries cost a fortune too. Why would anyone buy one? It's a low efficiency car 20 years behind the times. Buy a diesel.

  • ponyak honass?

  • okay..you said it yourself...lets get away from petroleum!!!...Hybrids are small expensive ..and uughh..they still drink Saudi Oil....the answer ...CNG BABY!!...we have enough natural gas in the lower 48 to power every car on the road for the next 100 years!!!...I can do burnouts in my CNG Powered Silverado...in the mile-hi city!! and i drive it for +/- $1.70 per gallon..and its all domestic fuel..if you wanna call yourself a Patriot because of the car you drive either go CNG or RIDE THE BUS!!

  • @kooch555 compressed natural gas. tell me, how many miles you get out of a gallon, and how many gallon of compressed gas can you fit in your tank per fueling, also, does it take 15-20 minutes to compress the gas into your tank?

over here in Thailand CNG is cheap too, but it is not convenient because for a compact sedan the range per fueling is roughly 100 miles. Not saying CNG is bad. Just saying that it is an alternative and it doesn't solve our energy problem.

  • 46 mpg how can anyone even think thats good, the average european car is what a 1.6-1.8 litres it would perform similar to that easily. The VW Sirocco Diesel does 55 mpg & thats a far nicer car to look at than the Prius my dads Mercedes Sprinter (Dodge Sprinter) has a 2.2 L Engine and does 50MPG & thats a commercial vehicle

  • All cost goes to battery and motor ot body or engine.

  • @aznlalaland I'm from country of Georgia you faggot! And yeah, I do love real American gas guzzlers. In fact I'm drivin' one. That scares pussies like you. hahaha

  • @georgianborat LOL third world countries can afford imported cars? Go back to your little shack, you stupid cunt. Fuck Georgia, what the fuck are you gonna do? Go to war with your wienie sized army. LOL

  • @aznlalaland Oh yeah queer motherfucker. I have lot of money so I can afford that. I own fuckin' humvee H 1. your wife would suck my dick for a 5 minute ride in that :)

  • @georgianborat If you had money, you wouldn't be living in ghetto ass Georgia. LOL.Poor bitch. Continue to live in your little shack. We all know you have a 1inch dick and have no wife, probably a husband.

  • @aznlalaland welcome to visit Georgia.. I'll show my hummer, chevy pickup and land cruiser.. Now I'm also buying 2011 Chevy Camaro. Your welfare ass can't even afford dreaming about the life I have. Regarding your visit though read department of State warnings first.. We kill queers here so you may not be as welcome as you might think. We don;t even know what's Ghetto. Cheers dude!

  • @georgianborat

Wow, that's a lot of car posters you have in your mom's basement. How can you afford them all?

  • Prius drivers you are so gay gay gay

  • In 2009 Chevron sold Cobasys, the company with the patent for the nickel-metal hybrid batteries, to SB LiMotive, a joint venture electric vehicle battery company between Bosch GmbH and Samsung SDI. At least under this new ownership the company will sell more batteries, hopefully. It's possible that someone put pressure either to sell Cobasys or to change the large order only policy!

  • There are other types of batteries that can be used! The thing is that I can't wait until 2015 when the patent on these batteries expires, that will be a blow to Chevron.

  • Anyone else makes prius besides toyota? Im afraid to get one from them.

  • Clean, renewable energy?

    Like gasoline :)

  • Toyota- Moving you forward even if you push the brakes.

  • excellent information ! they've just launched this in India.

  • My 2005 Prius is flawless. The person reviewing the car was biased from the beginning and still had his head up his ass at the finish. He called it a crummy car. Why? For an economy car the Prius is excellent.

  • @kaduisaui

wait till you have to pay for new batteries and maint. you will be screwed and the money you saved you will spend it on batteries.

  • @eLpeach Get your facts straight before you knock green cars.

The Prius battery is designed to last the life of the car. The Prius batteries are under warranty for 8-10 years or 100,000 miles, and so will be replaced for free before then in the unlikely case of failure. However, should the battery fail outside this timeline, the estimated cost of Prius battery replacement is $3,000. I purchased an extended warranty from Toyota to cover that just in case. You can keep your American gas hog.

  • @kaduisaui lol dumb asshole, the prius is not economical compared to a regular diesel, its slow, its ugly, and its expensive, not to mention how environmentally damaging its hybrid parts are :-)

  • @TheAcehd Perhaps they can make a diesel Prius. Would that be an improvement? Also, can you let us know just what hybrid parts are damaging the environment and if those parts are used in other cars on the road today?

  • @kaduisaui the nickel battery is very expensive to produce both in terms of the economy and the environment. my problem with this car is that it is slow, expensive, and not really all that fuel efficient , and it looks like a potato , there are much faster, better looking cars, that are more fuel efficient , moreover these cars dont need batteries to be made/disposed of

  • @TheAcehd

    1. The cost of batteries are reduced when they are mass produced.

    2. As for the environment, you would rather we use gas?

    3. 50mpg is not efficient? Compared to what? American auto makers don't sell fuel efficient cars. Currently, the Prius is more efficient than most cars you'll find on American car lots. Slow? Mine is fast enough to get speeding tickets. Ugly? mine gets more positive looks and comments than my Honda ever did.

    You are delusional.

  • @kaduisaui you really have no idea what you are talking about sir, the financial cost of producing the batteries may be reduced by increased production, however, the environmental damage caused by producing a prius does not change, a diesel that gets BETTER mpg than the prius and has a far less initial environmental impact during production is a far better alternative. the acceleration on a prius is slower than a work van, the prius was designed to be aerodynamic not pretty.. feel bad.interior?

  • @TheAcehd OK, you win.

  • @kaduisaui not where your mind is hiding

  • @TheAcehd First you lol'd me and called me a dumb asshole because I stated the guy in the video was biased. I still think he is. I called him out for making false statements about the prius. Simple. I own a prius and I love it.

To make you a happy little troll, I will concede. Yes, my prius is ugly and slow. Yes, my prius will kill the planet. Does that make you feel superior? You win, I said it. Get over yourself and quit responding to me.

  • @kaduisaui if you can get past his English douchebaggyness the video has some good points :- D

  • @TheAcehd I think he sounds more like an American douchebag to me.

He points out the B mode on the shifter without knowing what it does or researching it's function before wrongfully declaring it has no purpose. He also points out buttons on the dash exclaiming they have no purpose either. Are those the good points in the video that you are referring to?

  • @kaduisaui whoops forgot to post the link to the video its on top gear

  • @kaduisaui For an economy car, it may be excellent. But it's excellent in the way that a taco fart is excellent. Sure, it's not nearly as bad as what your dog lays down, but that doesn't mean it actually smells good, either.

My economy car of choice would be a Porsche 914. Costs about 1/4 as much as the prius (because it's from the '70s) but gets great mileage, a targa top, and decent acceleration considering it's got less than 100hp. It's also got TWO rather sizable trunks.

  • @JETZcorp Does the Porsche get 50mpg?

  • @kaduisaui It depends on the engine you get. The six-cylinder with the entry-level 911 engine will get you high-30s, and with the smaller four-cylinders you can probably expect mid-40s. It's not going to get the mileage of a Prius, obviously. However, considering that you're going to be picking it up for something like $7,000.

  • @kaduisaui The Prius is nowhere near as economical as diesel turbo cars in the UK. I can buy 2 Ford Focus for the cost of 1 Prius. Focus 0-60=10s & 115mph. 55MPG in the town/72MPG at 70MPH motorway. People incorrectly measure Prius MPG when the engine is NOT running and fuel is not being used in order to lie about it. The prius engine only manages 35MPG combined, not 170 or whatever some people lie about. Toyota was left behind 20years ago by diesel technology. No one buys the Prius in the UK...

  • @urbex2007 You are lucky. The American Ford Focus only gets 28mpg. I bought the Toyota Prius because it gets 50mpg and Consumer Reports dot com rated it high. The price is important but not as important as the message I wanted to send to the American car makers.

I know it can be done but they refuse to sell good cars to Americans.

I get 43mpg to 55mpg in my prius depending on how I drive. I have seen Felix Kramer's Prius and it easily gets over 100mpg. Look it up: calcars dot org

  • " American's have a raging hard on for the Prius"

did anyone else catch that part? Lol

  • Over 320 miles in a half tank of gas??? lol Holy Shit thats tight. Like he said it looks crappy who knows maybe i can use the money i saved from fuel to make it look less crappy.

  • @rdylima9 i once saw a blue prius with matte black 18 inch wheels and low pro sticky tires. after that, a stock prii doesnt look so bad

  • if this review was done by TOP GEAR, those idiots wud have taken it around a race track and cribbed and joked about how bad the performance is! right! as if they know how to make money by selling cars! nice enjoyable review though.

  • the day i want to sacrifice all of my dignity and manhood i will buy a pussy little prius but ill be long dead before that day comes until then i will happily drive my 95 trans am and 87 monte carlo ss so you vegan mobile lovers BLOW ME

  • @classicrock4ev3r +1 to that u drive a 79 trans am sure it cost a shit load in gas but its worth every penny it pays for it self in other ways ;) hybrids are shitty lil pussy cars

  • Good vid. I drive a 2003 Prius. It serves it's purpose.

  • I have a 2010, it's a great car IMO. It's a foreign car, but so is about 60 percent of the oil we use to make gasoline. As far as nickel goes, the plant in Sudbury, Ontario did it's deforestation and toxic dumping decades ago, way before the Prius was even thought of. And if you're against the nickel in a Prius, about 34 pounds, you should be really against stainless steel then. Two thirds of the plants output is used for that purpose. Many sinks, cook and table ware you eat with is s. steel.

  • Well made video - enjoyable to watch. Thanks!

  • Prius

What does a Toyota Prius sound like when it drives by?

    IIII'mmmm gay

What does a Toyota Prius sound like when it idles?

    Homo Homo Homo

    - Jeff Dunham

  • @georgianborat

    The Prius doesn't idle retard.

  • Its ugly, and handles like a brick. A car has to have one of three things for me to bey it. power, beauty or soul. The prius has none of these. I look at car as works of art.

  • since when does driving around town needs handling or power?

    it doesn't.

  • its like a nessary evil boring lame but needed, hopefully eventualy americans will do a better job at it, lastley u know the real reason y we want hybrids, long term cars might get so efficient that they'll start getting bigger again

  • Is it the making of the nickel or the nickel itself? I believe that the battery's can be recycled very easily, so I don't see how that's a factor

Btw, I don't know anything about cars, but I do know a thing or two about battery's, at least I think I do :-P

  • @kgonepostl

It USED to be- back in 2008 when this video was made. Nowadays the Prius is made using largely reusable energy, and has gone to the top again in terms of environmental friendliness- by far (at least in the Am market)

  • @bg1379

Thank you for that information duder :-)
