If you like more realistic infantry combat I'd recommend taking a look at a really old game called Sudden Strike. 2001 is when the 2nd, and best, one came out. Little known because it's by a small German company but it's amazing if you like RTS. No base building, no picking and choosing reinforcements, no resources other than your units individual ammo. Its real strategy

The combat was largely vehicular raiding and mutant psychic upgrades, with 24 player games every weekend, and each person could field over a hundred fast moving units with stackable upgrades. The game was a little unbalanced, but fuck was it fun.

I played "Trash" the so-called alpha version of Apox even tho it was a totally different standalone game for 5 years, and now I played in Apox closed beta and open beta. The game quality is still questionable, but its an indie game, started from a garage by 2 guys basically. it has pros and cons but you should try and focus the game mechanics instead of graphics and sounds, which are easily improvable.

I do not agree at all where you said that it's more realistic in CoH, because it's not and it's even worse when you compare this game to CoH. It takes YEEEEEEEEEARS to kill an infantry squad in CoH even with a fucking flame thrower CQC. lol
@Plankt0nify In CoH you have a squad with more than 1 person in each, you see the soldiers in your squad die off overtime while under fire. In this game instead of creating squads per production, you create 1 unit that acts like a tank, makes it look very silly.

The balance.txt was easily modified and the file checker was easily bypassed, so modded games were fairly common.
There were 8 maps, but each one was a template for a seed that generated new pathways and expansions each game.
The community had its own little "Legends" personas of highly skilled players, which others aspired to beat.
All in all, the original game had a quaint, retro and deeply immersive atmosphere despite the old graphics, and perhaps BECAUSE of the lack of music.

I played "Trash" the so-called alpha version of Apox even tho it was a totally different standalone game for 5 years, and now I played in Apox closed beta and open beta. The game quality is still questionable, but its an indie game, started from a garage by 2 guys basically. it has pros and cons but you should try and focus the game mechanics instead of graphics and sounds, which are easily improvable.

Am i the ONLY One to notice how badly this rips of "Trash" from Inhuman Games?
Similar sound effects, damage number over enemy when taking hits, Seems like the same damn engine. and Trash was released several years ago >.>.

Trash is an indie RTS game with a unique design It features two races (humans and mutants). It has a 10 mission single player campaign and extensive multiplayer. Trash has an active multiplayer community. The lead designer for Trash also designed APOX, which is available on Steam.

I do not agree at all where you said that it's more realistic in CoH, because it's not and it's even worse when you compare this game to CoH. It takes YEEEEEEEEEARS to kill an infantry squad in CoH even with a fucking flame thrower CQC. lol

@Plankt0nify In CoH you have a squad with more than 1 person in each, you see the soldiers in your squad die off overtime while under fire. In this game instead of creating squads per production, you create 1 unit that acts like a tank, makes it look very silly.

Hey Totalhalibut! You said you have played MoW quite a bit and I think its one of the best RTS game out there, even tho it have it flaws, and its really really underrated, maybe you should do a commentary? Would be great so it can get the attention it deserves!
