I just don get how Hayate can be so good with ayane and not speak to Kasumi his real childhood sister , who leaves and breathes to be with him again! just beacuse she is a "traitor" I don't buy it!

Yeah, I agree. I think deep down inside, Ayane really loves and cares about Kasumi and would love nothing more than to be good friends with her. But there positions they're in (Kasumi is a runaway from her clan and Ayane is given the task to kill her) is getting in the way of their relationship.

She does, she's honor-bound to kill Kasumi because she ran away.
Ayane is also Kasumi and Hayate's half sister.
Ayane is a bastard child (which is why they took Kasumi away from Ayane as kids) and Kasumi is somewhat Royalty.
Ayane also cares deeply for Hayate, she has sort of a crush for him.

I love dead or alive. I like ayane more. Her story is more deep/sad..she was the result of rape and holds angst against people because she never felt loved. Its pretty sad
