I fought Boolossus like that. While riding the vacuum, all I had to do, was just spin around, spray the ice, vaccuum up multiple boos at a time, and hope I didn't get hit... It was a good strategy, until there were 2 Boos left. I knew I'd risk getting hit if went up close to them, so I resorted to shooting iceballs everywhere while imitating a ray gun. I eventually hit both of them, and I said "Huh? I won? WITHOUT TAKING ANY DAMAGE?! Finally, after all those resets, I got Boolossus' Gold frame!"
Why does only the PAL version have these awesome additions? The answer is quite simple. Nintendo wasn't trying to screw us over. You see, owners of the US and JPN versions of the game complained to Nintendo that there were almost no changes in the Hidden Mansion. So, Shigeru Miyamoto took it upon himself to change the Hidden Mansion and make it harder. Thus, the PAL Hidden Mansion was born! Not releasing it outside of Europe was pure laziness. It doesn't matter to me, I have it on my computer.

I really want to play this. The NA Hidden Mansion didn't feel different to me at all. I just felt that I went through the same thing but under a different name. I love the game and all, but I was disappointed.

@Laxev Stand for? Phase alternating line. It's named after the television standard used in countries the PAL version is distributed in. My case has a 'PAL' to the left of the Nintendo logo on the front, and a warning on the back says only to use it with a PAL console. The little coloured triangle on the side indicates country of origin too, but these are different for every European country (as far as I'm aware), so it's not as useful.

@Bubbajjsammer5 Mm, I've heard that it gets stronger in PAL HM, but never had it confirmed. Someone somewhere said 2x in NTSC, 5x in PAL, but I kind of doubt that. It also helps to move the analogue stick towards and away from the ghost quickly while sucking it up.

@VoidHedgehog213 no, its harder because its mirrored, most boos have more hp, fewer hearts (hearts that heal 50 hp doesn't exist), 45 boos needed to access the king boo battle,boos are more agile and more difficult to catch, five rather than three ghost fight you when you are against the artist studio

People complained that the NTSC and Japanese versions of the Hidden Mansion were too easy, so they added some new differences with the Pal version, Miyamoto himself thought of a few of the changes.
So now the Boolossus battle has more slippery controls? That's adding difficulty to an already near impossible fight. How could Nintendo do this to all those poor Europeans?

@ninjaman891 If you're in the American or Japan region, you use NTSC. PAL is what's used in Europe/Australia, so the only way to play the PAL Hidden mansion is to get the European copies of the game and system

I got this version on my computer, I'm serious when I say this, THE HIDDEN MANSION IS MUCH MUCH HARDER IN THIS ONE THAN ANY OTHER VERSION OF THE GAME!!! It's like Ocarina of Time Master Quest, except it's Luigi's Mansion. I'm actually playing it with a rather insane requirement in mind, I have to find ALL of the money in the Mansion...

@Dnator97 Sorry that I'm replying late. I looked up "Luigi's Mansion PAL ISO", then I found a link, downloaded the ISO(that's the format the game is in), then I ran the ISO on a program called "Dolphin Emulator".

@supervideogamejunkie By ordering it from a PAL region, I guess. I'm not sure if the GameCube is region-locked, so you'd have to look that up.

@Greenpickle512 dude, pal sucks. i got it today and it wont start EVEN when i free load it with action replay and gameshark. it just make the screen fuzzy and the picture moves up and down real fast like movie credits. all my pal discs do this.

@Bubbajjsammer5 Mm, I've heard that it gets stronger in PAL HM, but never had it confirmed. Someone somewhere said 2x in NTSC, 5x in PAL, but I kind of doubt that. It also helps to move the analogue stick towards and away from the ghost quickly while sucking it up.

I disagree that this game is harder just because of those 2 bosses,but i can say this,Riding the poltergust when fighting that boss would be MUCH easier

@VoidHedgehog213 no, its harder because its mirrored, most boos have more hp, fewer hearts (hearts that heal 50 hp doesn't exist), 45 boos needed to access the king boo battle,boos are more agile and more difficult to catch, five rather than three ghost fight you when you are against the artist studio

@VoidHedgehog213 i know the US and japan versions are way to easy and thats the reason Shugeru Miyamoto made the hidden mansion harder in the PAL version, because the NTSC version was released in 2001, and the PAL version in 2002

People complained that the NTSC and Japanese versions of the Hidden Mansion were too easy, so they added some new differences with the Pal version, Miyamoto himself thought of a few of the changes.

@ninjaman891 If you're in the American or Japan region, you use NTSC. PAL is what's used in Europe/Australia, so the only way to play the PAL Hidden mansion is to get the European copies of the game and system
