@Comrades91 Well not to be some random jackass to try to steal glory but if patton did'nt plit germany into two and split there suply lines the germans would have been able to keep up the front of russia. In truth the germans kicked everyones ass so hard that we try to forget but history does'nt change. All in all germany could have beaten russia, u.s, britain and any buddy else on a one on one war. It was us united that defeated nazi germany.

Besides, the russian government is partially to blame for the deaths of their soldiers due to their having trusted Hitler. Trusting a land - hungry maniac to just not invade your country is a poor bet.

@Cheveyo888 They didn't trust Hitler at all. They knew the Nazi's would eventually attack them so they agreed to the peace treaty as a way to stall the Nazis. With the Nazis focused on the West, the Russians were busy building up their armies and officer corps in preparation for the inevitable attack. Sadly, they weren't able to build it up fast enough and were not ready for the Nazis come Barbarossa. Without them the world would have lost .

@smokefire3 West Europe would be screwed without Russians helping them. The Germans would have refocused on Britain with many more man and prevented any thing like a Normandy invasion. If such an invasion failed the Brits would have been forced to fold, leaving America without any staging point for further attacks. And if an invasion failed moral would disappear in America and they would focus on the Japanese instead. China and India were too focused on the Japanese too to assist in the West.
