I have heard of Dhaka project where street children are sheltered and educated. It was founded by a young Portuguese air-hostess who had stopped over in Dhaka. She started off by collecting money saying "two kilos of rice would feed a family for the day" However, it would take many such good hearted people and the government to work collaboratively to uplift these unfortunate children and make them valued Citezines.
