Very nice. Do you put any effects on the vocals? Also, does having a screen over the mic greatly improve the quality of the vocals?

@naikee1010 No effects except EQ and mild compression. The pop-screen prevents the mic from picking up popping wind noises. (Blow directly onto the microphone, and you'll notice what I mean.)

@hellfencer Cheers! I programmed the drums, and there should be bass in there somewhere. Sadly, I have to program the bass as of now. (Synth bass ftl.) In the near future, I'll invest in a proper bass though.

@Blixish In my various experiments with creating riffs, I find that I am able to distort my 4-string bass to sound like a guitar, which works out rather nicely. I seem to be a guitarist that plays bass :P I just bought a drumset so I could start practicing and at least throwing down beats to whatever I write, even if I'm not a great drummer :P

I'd like to hear more of this kind of thing!

I am a fan of bass that can be heard in a song, even in black metal. Varg does this well on De Mysteriis

@Nick4764 I guess I can give advice based on what I did here: I selected two different scales/modes, and decided to work out from there. The first riff is in E Byzantine Dorian mode, the second and third one in standard Minor. :) Just messing around in interesting scales really help boost your creativity.
