  • @chyman it is 'I'm So Proud' from her 1983 album of the same name.

  • she hit a good note in 'dont stop the love' too =)

  • Niecy took it up and down at 1:02!!! DAYUM!!

  • Such an inspiration ^^

  • please i need to know the name of that first track please help if you know thank you

  • @SRJB1, itis titled 'Strangers' - from My Melody 1981

  • @SRJB1 ..the first traCK made me cry...i'm glad you asked it's name!

  • Latoya jackson sings great as well. Look up her privious r&b recordings in the early and mid 80's. Her latest album has her best up to date music as well. Look it up!

  • 2:25-2:26....that's the highest note I've ever heard her hit.

  • Rediculous! Deniece was crazy!!!!

  • loving the mix up but someone please tell me the name of the 5th track......thx

  • That is titled, 'Why Cant We Fall In Love'' from her 1979 album When Love Comes Calling.

NB: All the songs are listed under 'more info.'

  • True She used to sing for both Minnie Riperton and Stevie Wonder...On one of minnies songs (everytime he comes around) Deniece is whistling totally freely on top of Minnies lead vocals...very cool...In this particular song I minnie her self doesnt whistles.she left it all to NIecey! LOL! And Niecey Brought it! HELL YEAH!

I met Niecey 2 years ago after a show, What a warm and humble woman. No superstar attitude. And she still sings better than all those wannabees that act like they all that!

  • Can you put the names of all of the songs in order of the video up please? I would really appreciate it

  • Sorry for taking this long, but the songs and their albums have now been listed. Regards.

  • Thanks for doing that for me! I meant to thank you before, but I kept forgetting. Thank you.

  • I live for 2:41

  • how do you know what octave, and what note you sing.

ik ik i feel stupid even writing thiss.

    =\

  • what is the song at the beginning of the video? thanx in advance

  • That song is called 'Strangers' taken from her My Melody album.

  • I would wanna call her a Lyric Soprano, plain and simple

  • Comment removed

  • who cares

  • My Favorites

    1. Mariah Carey

    2. Chante Moore

    3. Minnie Riperton

    4. Deniece Williams

  • thnx t ur comment i discovered chante moore... nobody in argentina knows her. she's amazing... so as u. thank u!

  • i think someone should do a vocal range video for deniece

  • whats the first song?

  • The first song is 'Strangers'.

  • someone pls tell me the title pf the song at 1:15

  • That is titled, 'I found Love'.

  • whats the highest note she ever hit?

  • I think her highest is said to be G6.

  • G6 is my highest note :D

    And my lowest F#2 :)

  • is her G6 in this video?

  • Its actually like a E7!

  • Deniece William's highest note is a G6

  • Minnie was her mentor and it shows in her voice, i think she is as close to Minnie's power in the whitsle register as anyone.

  • minnie was not neicy's mentor, but a colleague in wonderlove, behind stevie.

  • well didn't deniece sing back up for minnie before getting her solo career?

  • no, she didn't.

  • The 5th song is "Why Can't We Fall in Love" from When Love Comes Calling (1979)

  • and some people say marah carey can hit better high notes then her i dont believe that

  • could you put the names of all the songs used in order in the info

  • I'm doing this from basic knowledge, so not sure of the ones with ? 1. Strangers (on the album with "Silly") 2. Love is Calling 3. Baby, My Love is For You (?) It's on GH album 4. I Found Love (one of my favs) 5. ? 6. If You Don't Believe 7. Black Butterfly (amazing live) 8. I'm So Proud 9. I Surrender ? 10. I Found Love (again) Silly should've been on here, too, but it's not.
  • #5 is "why can't we fall in love", from the album "when love comes calling"

  • Thanks

  • What her highest belt? I think she can belt like C6/D6 at the very least. She belts higher than even Patti I would say!

  • we dnt hav no more sopranoes out right now that can sing like this

  • deniece and angela winbush are some of the few singers that use mixed voice techniques to reach these high notes instead of using whistle.

  • love her i grow up listening to her sign and i thought my self how to hit all the notes she hits thank god for her passion i can now sign from my heart and say deniece thought me,,,,,,,,,, love her god bless her every step,,,,,,,,,

  • Deniece Williams studied with renowned vocal coach, Seth Riggs and he helped her to truly connect her chest, middle, and head registers. Therefore, she is able to sing with great clarity, range, pitch accuracy, and power. In classical music terminolgy, she would be classified as a coloratura soprano.

  • Now she may not go as high as Georgia but hands down she soundsssss 300% better!

  • @Lilweezy2815 That's all Georgaia can do is hit Hight notes she can't sing that well to me sorry. she's all over the place when she sings.

  • High notes w/o all that whistle crap! UGH! A real singer with a voice that's not only pure & sweet but strong! And the gag is Niecey is really an alto singing in that range!!! What a Singer!!!

  • she's inspirational thx for post

    I luv Her To Peices!!!

  • Not only do I love the comments about Deniece, but it's the ones making the comments - these are folks who know good music, good voices, and KNOW music ie. C6 and D6 in mix voice! Deniece would appreciate the compliments I'm sure - Hail hail to the REAL singers and those who love them!

  • Let's not forget the note she did in God is Amazing live Vres. And the notes in Minne ripertons Everytime he comes Around her highest notes are in that song I think.

  • This was a excellent mixture of songs, But 2 of my favorites were left out, We Have Love For You & God Is Amazing from the Song Bird album, of course you cant add them all, But this was great.

  • this woman is great... to think her and Minnie were both singing back up for some famous singer, though yet Minnie's career went a lot faster than Deniece's

  • They both were background singers for Stevie Wonder.

  • Minnie, Denise, Syreetta, And Chaka, at one time, with stevie. Homecoming Hamton university early 1970s. I was young and in love. My sisters college.

  • Yeah Minnie and Deniece where Stevie's back up singers I heard

  • aww i love her.

    i was named after her.

    :]]

  • What is her highest belt? I think she can belt like a C6 and D6 in mix voice easily!

  • I think so too...you know that's her singing the background on Minnie's Everytime He Comes Around...right.

  • does anybody know the name from the song that plays first [0:00-0:28]??

  • That song is titled 'Strangers' from her My Melody album. It's an emotionally charged song, so be prepared.

  • thanks :D

  • Oh yeah from my earlier coment, "B7" not B6 is her highest

  • I never thought of Deniece Williams have a multi-octave voice. Thanks for the proof of her being one of the greatest female singers in pop history.

  • that woman know she can sing godly her notes are out of this world

  • I like this idea. She (Niecy) was confused with Minnie Riperton on Minnie's "Perfect Angel" album the song "Everytime he comes around" the background vocals were sang by Deniece Williams.

  • She hits a couple of super high notes near the end of "If you Don't Believe" from her first album. Also she socks some out there at the end of "Why can't we fall in Love", from When Love Comes Calling. One her best was when she sang at the Grammys. This was when she was at her peak of popularity due to Let's hear it.. Instead of doing that song she opt to do God is amazing acappella. She does these incredible runs using her upper range, and end it with what sounded like a high d or e.

  • i love this can u make anthother one her high notes cause there are more please

  • does anyone know how many octaves does deniece has

  • It has been said by a 'reliable' webiste that she has 4.5 octaves.

  • ok thanks

  • Deniece may have a 3 octave range at best. Understand, just because you sing high does not mean you have a big range. Her range starts just below middle C (c5) and go through the Low 7th octave (b6) She can't sing lower and that's why her range is not that big

  • its about four from is think f3-e7

  • yes she has one of most outstanding voice i love her voice she still got it too i think she could go higher than a G6 cause she hits it with ease and it was said that she can hit all the notes that minnie riperton can do mariah got nothing on my girl deniece but i still like mariah too

  • I read a quote from Deniece saying that she can sing high ranging coloratura G & A and above high C, which she uses for her own backup overlap. I have no doubt that Deniece can hit higher notes that what put here, In fact I remember few years back I heard an uptempo song by her in which she hit an amazing high note, but I can't remember the song and as we all know her albums are not easy to come by.

  • Rachelle Ferrell is another one. I love that woman so much. She got some vids on here too. Check her out. She been influenced by Minnie and Denience also, u can tell. But she has her own style.

  • i've been listening to neicy since she came out and i have all of her releases. she is unique in her readings. she never over sings any of her songs. i love her upper register so i'm biased, i admit it. but to the point: what is an upper register if you don't know how to use it. mariah has her whistle that she doe not use anymore, i bought three of her cd's based on it. minnie will live forever because she used her upper and lower registers like all vocally trained voices of the period.

  • I love NIECY!!!! She can hit up to like a G6. Great range!

  • Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou....

I'm familiar with all these notes!!!
