Look guys, it's true that movies from this era did have a certain charm, and I also look back on them with nostalgic fondness. I agree that the absence of CGI bestowed these films with a certain visceral nature that modern films rarely capture, and that 80's era productions all shared a sense of whimsy that has been lost to the ages. I recognize that seeing them as a kid contributed to the profound impact they've had...
