I disagree, most of the hardcore fans thought Rev was amazing, always. I remember my friends started obsessing over him (and his skills) right after they listened to Bat Country b/c the piccolo snare. Anyone who watched their DVDs know how awesome a guy he was and what he contributed to the band dynamic, and that he wrote many of the most awesome songs.

I don't think where stupid girls are throwing their panties at the stage is a good measure of how much a musician is appreciated.
