@Tamang4CA only on kick off returns or punt returns OR if the opposing team kicks a field goal that falls way short, the defense can catch the ball before it hits the floor and attempt to run it back. On kick off or punt returns you can catch the ball deep into you're own endzone which will add to the 99 yards, ya digg

@Jesusfreak28532 Not entirely incompetent. The first defender almost never brings Welker down when he's standing up. Only two guys were within ten yards of Wes when he made the catch. Once he got free from Sapp (#27), nobody was going to catch him. He is too quick. Welker has the best feet in the NFL, and that's not even a Rex Ryan joke.

77 yards after catch. The announcer called the TD before Wes crossed midfield. He could have run two hundred yards, nobody was getting to him.
