@myleftnutts - both run on 45mm track but g scale tends to run on heavier rails. Gauge 1 locomotives are usually scale representations of British standard gauge and are therefore smaller than the "chunky" scale applied t G Scale trains.

G-Scale can refer to models made to ratios of 1:20.3 for 3-foot-gauge prototypes, 1:22.5 for metre-gauge prototypes, or 1:29 for near-scale standard-gauge prototypes. As noted elsewhere, all of them run on 45mm track.

The track is LGB and USA Trains, neither of which are currently made in Germany.
