  • this is awesome.

  • Some of the more amazing sounds that are way similar to an instrument on this machine are the harmonica and Double Bass, it's very close! Getting into FM synthesis is a fun and bizarre task. My question for Ma curious...are you using the cass control recording for this video or other ? I'm still fuzzy on the performance mode of this machine.

  • Nice, I'm still trying to figure this thing out. Cool styles though

  • It's like listening to old Eye Q and Harthouse records again. Thank you.

  • I have an 780. The drum pads are worn out. Maybe they just decay. I dunno how to fix it :(

  • That was delightful. I knew I was hanging onto my TX81Z for a reason! Good job.

  • very nice track

  • I always thought this was the most underrated synth in history. Even when it came out it was less than $400.00 and with a good reverb, incredible. Even wilder, if you can find a computer program that allows patch creation through breeding type method, (pick to parent sounds and hear offspring results) the sounds become so incredible.

  • @marcusunlimited Good reverb? Are you kidding? The "reverb" is awful! But it's still a great synth ;)

  • @behindtheeye ... I wonder what you would discover if you reread my post, word for word, very carefully?

  • @marcusunlimited I reread it and I'm still not getting it. Sarcasm?! You lost me with the breeding type stuff though, I don't know if that is significant.

  • @behindtheeye The reverb on this synth isn't bad, depending on your preset or usage, I'll make a demo video of how it gets some aiight' reverb

  • this is great!

  • Thanks for posting this, created using the Yamaha TX81Z - a cool FM synth. The producer Babyface at one point had two TX81Z units in his studio, both of which he kept set to a bass patch, one detuned from the other. This became a part of his signature sound. The best synth patches for this classic synth can be found at manymidi.com

  • Nice demo, sounds like you know how to really get the best outta an 81z. Kudos.

  • Sounds like a ADLIB PC Card! ;-)

  • @magermunson Exactly my thought!

  • Great little track. Really enjoyed it.

  • awesome

  • Great tune.

  • Haha brilliant, definite Amiga Commadore A1200 vibes :)

  • You know, I never really liked the Lately Bass sound. I just got a TX81Z though, so maybe it will grow on me.

  • @Biopharmer

are you fargin kidding? It's the ONLY good preset bass sound in synth history

  • that bass sound is so distinctive! Love it!

Cool sound. Could need some FX though, delay compression n stuff ;)

  • really nice song

  • just picked one up after finding out the band clock dva used one on three cd's. it must be good!

  • song 10+++

  • I´ve always been drawn to the concept of making as much music as possible with as litte gear as possible. Working with tight limits forces you to exploit your creativity at maximum and thus you´re likely to come up with something far more interesting than if you just start to add up VSTis. Keep up the good work, man

  • Thank you! And i totally agree.

  • the best comment ever.

  • @Guakingo that's why I only like to buy multi-timbral instruments

  • very impressive

  • Nice sequencing but the preset sounds are not as good as the ones you made yourself in your demo track 2. Nice songs both.

  • Nice use of TX!
