Cabela's has a Confederate .44 in the 1851 style on sale for about $130. This is a good first pistol. Its cheap and you get to shoot .44 cal for about the cost of .22 caliber.
You can also check out my website at: poconoguns[dot]net.
There is a guy on line who offers older types of "Toy Paper Caps, "Wild West Toy Caps", (817) 444-4320. I'm also thinking maybe using FFFG powder gluing it in with Sodium Silicate etc. I've stacked 3 caps in one Cap hull and testing them they seem very loud, will be doing a range test soon. Based on my test I feel they would ignite Pyrodex.
You can make your own Caps with the Forester Tap O Cap, There usually under $30.00 On line.
It is a Cylindrical Die that allows you to make Cap Hulls out of aluminum Soda/beer cans, just clean em up good and cut up into strips, get good toy paper kiddie caps, (The only thing they are very corrosive!)
This sounds awesome. Can you offer any advice on the ignition material that goes inside the cap. Were to get it or how to make it.
I was not clear about the Kiddie caps. Are you saying I should put those inside the caps I make for ignition? Will it be hot enough to cause ignition with pyrodex?
I did some reading up on the toy roll-caps. It turns out that the modern ones today are not nearly as hot as they were back in the good old 70's. Most people say the ignition is not reliable with the roll-caps even when they stack 3 in a cap. Thanks for bringing this to my attention though. I will have to research and see if I can make my own ignition material somehow. Then the self made caps would be awesome.
Hey tsafa1, sjstewart here, I just realized when I commented to you about your Colt Walker that I had siad I switched to number 11 nipples. I meant to say I switched to #11 caps, kept the #10 nipples. The bigger cap on the smaller nipple keeps it from fragmenting when fired. I haven't had any issues with them falling off, just put a little more oomph behind it when capping the nipple. they'll stay just fine.
Yeah, the only thing you really need to stock pile large quantities are the caps because lead can be found and melted down and blackpowder can be made. I want to get some flintlocks too incase the caps run out.

You're welcome!

Awesome. Definitely a good weapon choice for the zombies after the common cartridge based stuff starts to run low.
