@thew0lf1 As everything else in life... If you have dedication and responsability. It won't take you too much to become good in fencing. Most of the World's best fencers have been fencing since they were 7 - 12, so your age is good to start :)
@thew0lf1 im 13 to and i really want do it ded bad my dad sez its hard cuz its about attacking its about tricking people n that but i cand find anywaere that duz it near me
@thew0lf1 its quite easy to learn the rules, but if u want to win competitions in fencing u hsve to train a lot, i have trained in 5 years and i´m (only) on the 20 place im sweden
Foil has a lot of complex rules, so I think what happened is both hit, but in foil someone has to have right of way to get the point. That's what's happening in the first bout.
Did the lights used to be the other way around back then? So your light goes on if you get hit, not like now when your light goes on when you score a hit?
dam puccini's repost attack is freakin insane. its clear that plumenail got him first like twice in this bout, but puccini's repost always gets him back with the right of way....
OMG! SO sorry! I'm just too scared!Ok.... There was a lady who was walking in the forest with her dog and was killed. If u r reading this, then u will find a dead bloody body hanging in ur closet. U will be haunted and killed by her. to stop it posti this to 6 other videos in 30 GOOD LUCK
Puccini sure does keep reaching up for his mask while fencing, probably a habit, but maybe far enough out of distance for the director not to give a card for covering target area, I don't know .
I Know the mask isn't a target, I was referring to Puccini bringing his hand forward and reaching for his mask, while fencing several times, his fore arm would still be covering target, but they could be just far enough out of distance for the director not to say anything, and it does look like he changes masks because his bib is soaked at the last bout, Still awesome fencing from Puccini, peace out.
It's amazing how much audio-visual technology has improved in 15 years.

I think so, at my club we have one that does that so we just switch around the floor cords

1st viewing and must say the effort for swordplay in those suits looks to me as
though the greatest challenge could be
from ones own capacity for endurance.
thanksyounow 2 years ago
This is pretty accurate.
Since the mid-80s Fencing has been a footwork driven sport similar to the way tennis is nowadays.
So yeah, endurance and fitness are massively important these days as people try to out-maneuver each other anyway they can.

You don't even notice wearing the suit.

Puccini's got a nice disengage and I've always loved Plumenail's lunge.
I wish fencing could find a middle road between the machine timings of that era and this one.

Though I was just a boy when this happened, I remember so well Andrea Puccini and his fantastic gold medal .
As for tech skills and reflexes shown we've never have seen such an amazing men's Foil Olympic Final since that year .
Andrea Puccini = gold medal
