  • @pankhuripapakipari "ь" has no sound, it just softens a consonant before it, i.e. "вью" is pronunced exactly like "view".

    "ы" is a vowel.

  • I wonder, is there any way for Americans to get rid of this "tebYa" thing when they're speaking Russian :-)

    Funny enough, they seem to have no such problems with soft vowels in French or Spanish and don't say "l-Ya" or "l-Yo" instead of "la" and "le".

    The sounds conveyed with Russian "я" and "ё" (following a consonant like in "тебя") are pretty similar to those "la"-"le" in French,

  • i'm trying to learn russian the same way i'm learning spanish, like in the same order of words and how to form sentences but almost every website doesn't really come all that close to what i have learned/am trying to learn. can anyone help?

  • Hey, thank you for this website! :) I really want to learn Russian, but it's not an easy language to learn. English and French are latin language, while Russian is not! So it's like starting with no basis! Still, this website seems really helpful!
