I picked up a pocketstation back in the day and now I just realized that it was Taro the playstation mascot (well in japan anyway)

if you have the PC version of FF8, there is a little chocobo world game thats included in the install. its the same as the pocket station, lets you do the same shit.

I got this same one in box, I also got the crystal one with Toro on the box, funny thing is when you look at the back of the box, that Toro is on the front of the crystal on and the one on the white box cover is on the crystals back.

Actually, multiple US games work with it, there isn't a complete list but Street Fighter Alpha 3 works, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and even oddly Twisted Metal 2 works with it, it has a little vehicular combat mini game on it.

Japan got alot of great stuff. Remember the advert with the PSone plugged into a mobile phone, suggesting online play on a PSone...

It is pretty neat. I always liked it and the dreamcast memory cards. The little details and mini games n what not made me a big fan of both of them immediately even if they never got used to their fullest abilities

Man I remember when this thing was first shown and everyone I knew with a PS1 wanted one! It was so strange they didn't release it over here. I'm sure it would have sold decently at least. Now they would put a rechargeable li-ion battery in there that charges in the memory card slot? Heh that would be awesome. Just like the VMU then the battery life is rubbish.

Nowadays it could be really kickass. the screen could be a bit bigger and offer a bunch of options and storage space would be no problem with mini sd tech. just thinking about it makes me wish i had control of a gaming company lol
