  • Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for this!

  • Wow this beautiful <3 <3

  • beautiful, nice work. are u playing half a step up from standard tuning?

  • @divinelyshpongled i mean down....

  • good job! Now go get pussy....

  • Beautiful piece of music.

  • Great to hear this piece on guitar and played beautifully.

  • awsome

  • great :)

  • wow, this is like magic!

  • It creates mood of departure with hope

  • Superb.

  • beautiful playing! Love the harmonics at the end. I'm uploading a piano version right now, check it out!

  • well done

  • Great job ! and thank u for the tab !

  • very nice !

  • Great! well done

  • great work!!!

  • cannot figure out how to pick these chords, I see the tab its one pick, I hear it, it sounds like its strummed. I see you picking it and cannot figure out whether its all thumb, some thumb and some finger or what

  • @smeghead666

hi smeghead :D It's not strummed, and I use p,m,i & a classical finger-picking, that is, everything except the right pinky. The ring finger is usually for the main melody while plugging the whole chord with the other fingers (including thumb) at the same time.

  • @hyperboreal

not just the whole melody, index and middle are used for that as well, but some of the top notes (usually on first and second string).

  • @hyperboreal ok so the very first sound I hear is you picking with thumb first followed by index middle and ring fingers all picking the chords to sound as if theyre strummed?

    Dam thats skill...

  • @smeghead666

That's right but really, it's not so difficult ;)

  • Why aren't you composing movies?? I mean I know this is Michael Nyman's work, but I have a feeling you can compose great scores with that guitar of yours. Well done, mate!

  • great arrangement !

  • Really cool, bro!

  • beautiful brother, well done

  • Wonderful stuff man, thanks for including tabs too!

  • Very nice. Given the power of the orchestra in the original, I never would have thought it could work this well on guitar.

  • Thank you incredibly. Been looking for an arrangement for this on guitar for ages. Superlative job indeed. The fact that you have included the tab makes you man of the day for me.

  • Thank you so so much for the tabs, that's really rare that someone does that, I really appreciate it! Such a great song in an amazing movie!

  • @amrsurfnsnow31

You're welcome. Have fun playing it.

  • notable gracias =)

  • Gorgeous. Well done x

  • Thank you so much for the tabs. I've always wanted to learn this on guitar.

  • @dan101ny

Glad you enjoyed it, cheers man.

  • una delle mie musiche preferite in assoluto...grazie per averla condivisa:)

  • This is a very beautiful song by Michael Nyman. Thanks for making a great arrangement in guitar :-)

  • You're welcome, thanks for appreciating it.

  • Woa ! your version is just awesome ! thanks for the video.

  • Thank you very much! Both (guitar and piano) versions mean a lot for me! 5 stars!

  • Thanks.

  • You were blessed dude! Thank you for sharing this beautiful music with us.

  • Thank you man, my pleasure.

  • beautful, u are very talented!

  • awesome!

  • Wow very nice!

I really like the way you used Harmonics

I dont understand how you can get such a clear sound...

  • best and only version i have ever seen transcribed to guitar.. absolutely beautiful man... Piano version is actually harder cuz u in essence need 3 hands haha, but you pulled this off nicely

  • Thank you, I knew Nyman was ahead of his time (well, in fact he borrows from baroque music and other classical genres a lot) what I didn't know was that he had to genetically modify his DNA in order to play that piece ;^) Check out the piano version I have on my favorites, that YT user pulls it off quite nicely without genetic engineering.

  • Are you talking about me? You do a nice job too :) It's been so long I hardly remember the sheet music but I certainly didn't need three hands!

  • It was you indeed :) I love your rendition, I've listened to it a bunch of times and it always gives me goosebumps. Mine's on a different key and without those long sustaining bass notes... Well, I hope you don't mind if I post it as a video response now ;-)

Oh, and I'd love to see more of your stuff, two years without posting is a long time man!

  • I'm gonna have to learn this one on guitar. It's one of my favourite compositions. I recently bought a piano too.. and the first song i will learn is 'The Departure'. Really nice.

  • It's a great piano piece. I must say that this guitar transcription doesn't completely make justice to the original (it's a difficult task for guitar to compete with the piano octave range!)

  • lovely!!!!!

  • man, that was wonderful to listen to. bravo.

  • awesome. awesome. awesome.

  • bravo, complimenti!

  • hmm W O W , awesome, amazing, excellent, great, wonderful etc. i thank you that i know can play this song too

  • No sé los demás, pero yo ya echo de menos alguna pieza nueva...si es de Ant, mejor...

Más de dos mese sin tus virguerías debería ser delito.

Aún así, que pases un buen verano.

    ;-)

  • excellent, Alex! Did you try to arrange the other tracks from the OST? Please, do "the other side".

  • acabo de leer que eres de Barcelona! yo tengo familiares por ahi , tocas increible , suerte!

  • Oh, Alex that is a gorgeous song applied to the guitar! Bravo, my friend!!! And the playing is so clean and precise...wonderful *********************

  • bravo!!!!!

otra vez y mil veces mas .

  • de puta madre tio, buenisima si señor

  • Very nice, once again, hyperboreal!

  • awesome:O

  • Immoral? Really? That's nice :) Thanks Miss Ethel!

  • Muchas gracias Antonio, Nyman tiene temas muy emotivos.

  • Wonderful.

If you could upload more stuff from "Field Day" I would be so glad!

    :)

  • Hi guyeylon, [going offtopic now] it seems we cannot get enough of that superb AP album! It's a mystery to me why pieces from that tremendous album like "Tania", "Nocturne" or "Lifer", just to say a few, aren't covered on YouTube yet. I'd love to see other guys (also with better equipment than myself) playing Ant music.

By the way, do you play guitar? :-)

  • Indeed it is a mystery. Personally I'd LOVE to see "Concerto de Alvarez" or the rest of the amazing "Parlour Suite" performed here on YT, be it you or someone else that uploads the video.

I am, by the way, a cello player. :)

  • So you must be the lead cellist that appears on your video, if I'm not wrong. How great that musicians like you watch my videos!

And you want to see nothing less than the "Concerto de Alvarez" by Mr. Phillips... I'd also love to see that! :) Haven't tried it yet but looks terrifyingly difficult for the 12-string. I guess the Parlour suite would be more doable. Anyway, so MANY great tunes on that album!

  • Yes, you are right. On all counts - It's me on the cello in my video, there are no weak points on the album and the piece is terrifyingly difficult :D

  • Fantastic!!

  • Much appreciated Mr. Takamine!

  • Trés jolies harmonies sur cette musique mélancolique ,bravo ***** J.C.

  • Una lección de armónicos artificiales al final. Muy bonito Alex, estás en racha.

  • Gracias Sr. Chamaco.

  • Excellent :)

  • How fast! Thank you Mia ;)
