  • I had this on the Amiga :D It was awesome.

  • Almost finishing watching all of your videos. They are just pure, concentrated entertainment. Undertow? Not so much...

  • "autobahns were made for drivers like you" =D

  • I been lookin since I was a kid for this game I miss it and I also forgot the name up to a few years ago been tryin to get my hands on it

  • Been playing these Genesis games on pc Loving them!

  • One of the best racing games ever.......until test drive unlimited came out.

  • Some of my favourite memories came from playing the original test drive on the C64 with an atari joystick. "Pass any low flying planes?" :)

  • @teknifix haha, believe it or not, it was that phrase "Pass any low flying planes?" that helped me find Test Drive after more than 18 years on Google.

I had forgotten the game's name and every single thing but that phrase...and the other one about "being slower than his grandma" or something like that...man...I am still in dreamyland, as it was today I found it ^_^

  • better than GT5

  • "Press a joypad key to continue."

  • Man this brougth back some memories.... I remember playing genesis and thinking the graphic was amazing, hahahahaha.... that was compared to pc floppy disk the bif ones I think 7 inch, were for 1 game u had like 7 disks, ohh man, things have changed :) Those were the days, atary, nintendo, genesis, super nintendo, sega 32X, playstation, seca cd..

  • I think the blue cars are supposed to be T-Birds.

  • Man, the music in this game... haven't heard it for 15 years, at least. Funny how back in the day, I didn't think this was sluggish or primitive at all... although it doesn't give you nearly the sensation of speed that Outrun did. Of course, in the late 90s Gran Turismo would really change racing games forever for me.

  • scheisss werbung

  • I remember playing this game when I was 6 in 1995. My grandpa still had a IBM XT with no sound blaster. Beep-Boo

  • Amazing :))

  • xD I had test drive on amiga x) It was gr8 interior view rear mirror cops open roads working clocks one hit crash what more u need ??? some modern games dont have thous options even today

  • everytime you say COCKPIT i notice a wet spot in me trousers :>

  • Either New Jersey or Oregon! No self-serves here, either! Oh yes, bask in the glory of our often-forgotten-about magnificence.

  • 1:55 any cock ?! :O

  • @Geldfabriek any cockpit immature dumbass

  • @ErinTurco21 it was a joke but i gues idiots like you dont understand

  • @Geldfabriek Terrible puns like that at least need some kind of setup, not just random shouting and an emoticon.

  • @orionpax55 why are you talking to me ?

  • I had this game but I hate this game.....

I know that times games are better...

But I dont have computer for that....

It was very boring I hate this sorry .....

  • OMG I had all of these lol

  • This game brings back so many memories lol

  • IIRC that car you rear ended is actually a thunderbird turbocoupe. you can see the front of the same car right after you got back on the road after the crash

  • this game cant hang with hard driving..lol

  • Is this one of those computer generated 'reviews?' His voice sounds like a load of different pitched words put into a sentence, as do his comments.

  • I loved that game on my genesis when i was 2 :D

  • Comment removed

  • gran turismo is going to have 5 dollars and a quarter expansion packs

  • @chekkitProductions **facepalm**

  • LAGG

  • Ooo noo, wheelspin **prwiep prwiep**

  • I hate that elevator music in begining >.<

  • guys got invisible hands...

  • Classic!!!!! I remember playing the hell out of this on Sega Genensis.

  • nice music i love it

  • otima coleção dos TD

  • Actually this game is from accolade, since the game has that retarded Accolade cartridge

  • 1:00 fifth time tonight. :(

  • lol @ 1:00 "What happen" "Someone set up us the bomb..." BOOM

  • this test drive II the duel was really fun to play.

  • Lol an expansion for gas stations.

  • are the plates in the start cheats??XD

  • 1:16

  • I seriously love the music Mark chooses for these reviews.

I thought I'd be sick of the CGR theme by now, but I love it even more.

This bossa nova track at the start of this episode just makes it all the better.

    MARK RULES!

  • I wish they would make a collection, BUT we improving everything would be awsome! and I love the intro STILL!!!!

  • Damn I feel old now that he said that the game was made in 1992 because thats when I was born, lol.

  • "I dont see a self-serve this must all be New Jersey" --LOL!!

  • i dont care how crappy the music was or how stiff the game play was.... i LOVED IT BACK THEN!!!! AWESOME GAME!!!!!! i would play it again

  • "and you lost THE GAME"

  • good framerate!

  • what's cool is that you can blow up the engine with too much rpm in this game.

I had never seen that before in a racing game when I played it on the amiga 500 many years ago.

i still have the amiga and test dtive 1 and 2.

    awsome game.

  • @aklovl1980 I also had an Amiga 500. The best series of computer of all time... I'm sure if they had continued producing it Microsoft would be broken by now... So advanced for its time... Too bad the world didn't get it...

  • commodore screwed up a little with the amiga 1200 (also transformed in to the amiga cd32 console) which was not up with pc tech at the time and wasn't cheap either. but the main reason why they dropped out was because they went bankrupt in 1994.

  • name of the music? bg

  • i remember playing this game on the dos when i was about 3 years old hehe

  • I remember being in 3rd grade and couldn't wait to play Dual Test Drive 2. Now after 19 years. I am living the dream. Nothing like driving up in an exotic at a small gas station. This game rolls into my mind every time I fill up an exotic at a small gas station.

  • That cliff scene with the scrolling cliff wall id very convincing for the hardware. Wow, I want this game now.

  • Brings back memories.. fun game

  • looks like it would be fun for about 15mins. hahha. its hard to get into old games with all the technology now days. I grew up with Driver. I love listening to the music still! thank God for youtube and people who care haha

  • Definitely have great memories of this game, and this review brought them all rushing back. I used to borrow this game from my brother's friend in the early 90s, and I loved it.

  • i want it!

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • I had this game on the Amiga. Here it is: watch?v=zNLNmUHjwBU

  • This had a game embedded it in, a hidden game it was fun.

  • I like how Test Drive Unlimited is similar to the classic Test Drive games

  • Im a massive TD fan iv still got my floppy's too TD1,TD2,TD3 and TDU but i didnt like 4,5 and 6 tho

  • I still play this as well as TDU. I love them both, but I wish there were some more tunes on the Genny version. TDU can have practically unlimited songs.

  • the first need for speed had that cockpit view too. idk why they trashed it. : {

  • fuck

  • thats not a k car. ITS A THUNDAH BIRD. haha at least the k car saved chrysler, the 90's tbirds were useless

  • i agree, why would they belittle the thunderbird name with those peices of trash, not bad cars, just dont give em the trade mark t-bird name

  • >:(

    *drives a '96 T-Bird*

  • I Rymber Test Drive 3 on win 98 :D in School

  • used to play this ALOT on my Amiga 2000 :3

  • Nice collection, campared to you I miss the Muscle Cars extension but on the other hand I own the European Challenge scenery disk. :)

  • OH MAN, i remember this game! I used to crash all the time :( lol.

Loved this game though, still do!

  • I love this game.

  • thats rlly good grphics for back in 89 man and thoguhs super cars

  • Too bad it wasnt back in 89, but in 92 the game was finished and released in 93. And in computer terms 3-4 years is alot.

  • "BALLISTIC PRESENTS!!"

  • well thats one interesting cliff, u go sideways and start falling then u die.

  • Physics mean nothing in SegaLand.

  • They shouldn't mean anything in any land for video games as far as I'm concerned!

  • omg...police at 2:19 watch out dude :D:))

  • very realistic :> best graph i ever seen:))

  • i played a game like this for the sega genisis but i forgot what it was called.... ( i think it was a test drive game but it was for 3-D )

  • road rash?

  • I mean (further to my previous comment), look at 6.17, he's nowhere near that van!!!

  • I had this game for a while. It was rubbish! You can't see where the front of your car is, so no wonder you keep hitting things. Plus, there is no sense of speed.

  • You get a lotus in the PC version! SHWEEET

  • Comment removed

  • i want this game !!!!!!!!!!!!

    hihihihih

  • Hahahahahahaha! You're funny. You made the review just in the way it should be made. Greets!

  • Wow! This is the only game i played back in the early 90ies on PC, and i remember it VERY precisely! This console port is AMAZING - it runs much more fluidly than it did on a 386 PC! And it has basically the exact same graphics engine in the port, which seems to benefit from 68k processor a lot. And has better colours and music than PC CGA & Speaker.

Does this port have litter on the roads too?

Play with a Porsche. It's thin enough to slip between traffic - just keep the red dot on the line!!!

  • What is with your cartrige?

  • This video has mentioned PC gaming more than any other I think! One day there WILL be a PC game review on CGR....It's just a matter of time! :).

  • wow memories... I sucked in this game XD

    But I loved it!

  • I clearly remember typing in "Diablo 2 classic games" so why the hell is this the first video that shows up!?

  • Tags, buddy.

    DURR...

The Diablo is a car in this game.

  • Lol Sega sound card! Lol. Classic game though I played the SNES version but never the Sega game. Dude I would hve loved to see your Muscle car and super car disk as well. A+ review sir!

  • The grandfather of all racing video games.

  • Do a review for Test Drive Cycles for gameboy!

  • good review. but in the description box it says this game is by acclaim but you can see its by accolade in the video. just a heads up

  • What happened to the intro =(?

  • Damn I remember this game. I spent too many hours playing, and watching this game. Good times though!

  • well the backgrounds are true 3d like that one flight game, and the resulting lagginess makes it unplayable as hell like that one flight game.

  • don't those floppys go to a commodore 64?

  • Stop advertising!

  • No Shit! It drives me nuts, trying to watch a video and half the screens block with ads. Who reads the damn things anyway I just x'em out. Still annoying though, I agree!!!

  • use firefox with Adblock Plus, no ads at all >:)

  • I know, I want to sue google and all of it's worthless ads!!!

  • awesome!!!games today have nothing on this ;-D

  • At least you can see where you're going. I remember buying Night Driver for the 2600 'back in the day,' and I couldn't see a damn thing!

This game reminds me of the graphics in Hard Drvin,' which I played in the arcade, and bought for the Genesis. Very 80's.

  • LOL.. there was no hands on the wheel back in the 80's cause the driver was probably on some heavy shit.. =)

  • lol~ everybody''s too hip for that, back in the days......yes

  • Oooh... Looks like a Ford Taurus Police car there at 2:19. Nice...

  • New musics. I think I have played this before. Or maybey it was that bus driver game where nothing ever happened. IDK.

  • I used to love this game, even though I never owned it.But I used to play on a PC at friends house every few days or so.

  • you really needed that many discs to play the game?

  • It looked like 2 disks for the game and everything else was an add-on. I remember PC games back then where the audio was an add-on.

  • ah the good ol days! lol

  • lol, i wish that gt5 had expansion discs, oh wait, blu ray! 800 cars!

  • The PSP version had 800 Cars they said at E3. But the PS3 one probably has like 5000.

  • amiga version was best!

  • A used to play this game a lot, keep the good work.

  • 0:03 i want the classic song backl!!!! hahah

the game looks so clasic and it brings a lot of memories back...

you are dead [:(] and you lost the game[:(] hahahah

    2 bad news

  • OMG FUCK YOU!!!!

    Anon?

  • theres going to be a forza 3 XD really called forza motorsport 3

  • it s really cool to have something that reminds you how it was in the old days haha 5/5

  • the best Test Drive 2 Version is on the Amiga.

    The Genesis had terrible controls.

  • I played Test Drive on pc in the 80s. Boy did it suck balls but it was all we had. Test Drive II seems to be equally stinky.

  • I hated the snes version the genesis one looks better

  • five and qtrs!!!!

  • you are dead! and you lost the game :D this is EPIC!

  • Test Drive 6 is the best Test Drive!!

  • Yeah, its a good one. I also loved Test Drive Le Mans.

  • Test Drive Eve of destruction is cool too!

  • YOU MADE ME LOSE THE GAME!!!

    I'm still waiting for a Half-Life review too :P

  • This game has better damage modeling than Gran Tourismo :)

  • gran turismo doesnt have damage

  • gran turismo doesn't have shit compared to test driver II

  • those are two completely different style racing games.

  • LMAO x)

  • 0:38 to 0:46 that reminds me of something on the discovery channel

  • On Genesis i prefer Lotus II RECS =)

  • FUCK YEAH LOTUS!

  • I played the c64, the amiga and the mega drive / genesis version(s) but I never liked the series. The only cool thing tho was, that you could drive nice cars.

  • F40 <3

  • I remember those old floppy disks. The actual reason why floppy disks were called floppy disks! Seeing those and Games like this brings back memories.

  • i'm so glad i also played the commodore 64 version, and afterwards the amiga version. this is sports car racing how it started (if you don't count outrun that is... lol). i never bought the megadrive version, as the megadrive had much better racers, and i also still had my amiga version laying around. but still, 5 stars for bringing me back to those good old times !

  • Hey Mark, if you want a fun and cheap game that has the Ferrari F40, get Outrun Online Arcade for Xbox Live Arcade. That game is mindlessly fun.

  • My brother's first Playstation game was Test Drive 4. It was so, so awful, especially the music. One time I ran over a bump in the road and it launched my car directly upwards into outer space. It took 10 minutes to hit the ground.

  • I still have this for super nintendo haha

  • When I play test drive unlimited, I can't imagine this!

  • When I was little i use to think that i had to so to the senary to reach the end.

  • I had this for my Commodore 64 AND PC.. I loved this game

  • I Wish Gta Iv Is On Floppy's ;D

  • from 7 inch floppy's to the cartridge.. thank god

  • Man you always shit your pants when a police car starts to chase you... LOL

Everytime we hear the sirens in this video you crash... LOL

Nice vid man, I'm a sub for such a long time now... I played this game on PC with those 5 1/4 disks too

  • I almost feel cheated that I paid £30 for games like this years ago. At least today we have the revenge of Roms. Now we can play crappy old games free of charge with anyone in the world.

  • yeah but it's better to play games on their original systems and cartridges (at least for me) 'cause it gives you that beautiful nostalgic feeling.Roms cant give you that feeling.

  • I had it on the Amiga, the sound was much much better.

  • hahaha the sounds are just hilarious.......

  • lmao they want you to know that if you have a super car ur going to be stopping at the petro stations very very often

  • Great review! Classic game! I used to have a Test Drive on the C64. It was very close to this. It must have been the first version. It didn't have the "Rocking" music or a thousand gas stations to go to.

  • had this on amiga, hated the collision and that your car feels a mile wide, like it could crash into anything.

  • Those are some hot cars in the expansion there, and in the game. I like how the stats screen has an acceleration curve and the compression ratio, as well as lateral g and braking feet instead of a bunch of colored bars with generic names.

  • This game is so much fun. The visual style reminds me of Road Rash 2.

  • Ah, I missed these Classic Game Room tunes, good times. :)
