  • If you take a closer look, you'll notice that the video has them.

  • It's Kaito, Len, Rin, Miku and then Meiko^^

  • very good

  • why isn't luka here ?

  • This video was made before Luka came out.

  • @scramer95 ohhhh

  • ?

    len's second

    meiko is last

  • KEito is sooo awesome!

  • wow memories...this was the first vocaloid song I ever heard...except I heard a demo version by Meiko and Kaito^^ I wanna cry hearing this song...

  • haku is a fan made vocaloid so she shouldnt

  • such a cute/sweet song n.n

  • omfg sooo kawaii~

  • who sang this song originally? i cant find it anywehre

all i can find is vocaloid versions :(

  • It was originally composed as a technical sample data for Miku. So, it's no wonder you couldn't find someone who is not a Vocaloid singing this song.

  • @htsuji Actually, Leon, who, along with Lola, is one of the ORIGINAL Vocaloids, sang this.

  • 少女-ロリヰタ-23区 no hoshi no kakera is better...

  • ahaa i know this song miku sing it soo beautiful in an other vid but this is awsome too !!

  • I love the song~ do u knwo where I can find the song? thanks

  • NICE!!! XD LOVE IT!!!!

  • Good :)

What does its name mean (hoshi no kakera)? I know hoshi means star?

  • "Kakera" is a (broken) piece of something and also figuratively means trace or hint of something.

A literal translation of "Hoshi no kakera" may be "a fragment of star" but I guess I should choose more cute or poetic words. :)

  • or fragment of a star :3

  • @htsuji One way to translate it to sound more poetic could be "Shards of Stars".

  • I was trying to find vocaloid manga or a anime of it,and I found a vid that's called Hatsune Mix.The manga could be read at website called Onemanga.

  • What about Neku?

  • wait plz is there a anime show or manga for vocioid if so plx send me the link

  • No anime yet, but it is only a matter of time. I mean, they wouldn't even have to hire voice actors... But I do believe they have a manga out now.

  • A four-paneled manga book was published last month. Search for its ad page on Youtube with keyword "hachune kadokawa". The ad is officially posetd by the book publisher Kadokawa.

(Hachune is a chibi-version of Hatsune Miku.)

  • I've been long searching a video where one could compare different vocaloids. This is absolutely the best i've found so far! *arigatou*

  • I wish I owned all the vocaloid software.

I`d make gakpo tell how pwetty he is. X3

and kaito would be fun! :D

  • But this is an awesome video! and I luv it!

  • awsome now we only need Gackpoid!!!

  • Gackpo is official.

  • Ummm, so people know, all they up-to-date OFFICIAL Japanese vocaloids are: Miku Rin Len Kaito Meiko Gakupo Luka The rest are either English (like Leon or Lola), or characters made from voice alterations/fan-made (like Kaiko or Haku). And um, Teto isn't exactly a Vocaloid either. Just trying to help XD
  • Luka they released her already! i checked the site but she wasnt up yet so she is out now?

you should tell people Kasane teto is utau and that haku was added to utau

  • Yeah, she came out only a week or so ago.

Her demo song is on YouTube, just search

    "Vocaloid Luka"

  • yeah i just went to the site and im now searching for her on jp sites XD im such a weirdo

  • Hahaha I did too XD

Although it looks like her song that is out is a demo,

(but there may be a few more songs for Japanese beta testers and stuff, I dunno),

she's released to the public on the 30th (Japan)

  • in which site?

  • I put an annotation on the video. I hope it'll help you to get to Luka's page.

  • ok! thank you

  • Ummm, he is. :D He's the newest before Luka

  • there is no software for sale. there is nothing in the online market.

not come out before luka -.- U

    not exist... officially.

  • Sorry, but I don't get what you mean...

I bought Gakupo from Amazon Japan last September. (And Luka just few days ago)

  • Does anyone have the english lyrics for this song.

  • I wish Teto was made before this was D':

  • Teto's not a vocaloid though. =X So if wouldn't have mattered either way.

  • Um, I think we're mixing up who's a "true fan" here. Teto is NOT a Vocaloid program. She's from a similar program called Utau which, I think, is free or something of the sort.

  • Sooo... I'm confused. Rin and Len are twins, right? and Miku is ... not related to them? Are Kaito and Meiko together? *gets dizzy* I'm new to this fandom, and soo confused... And... aren't there two more? AUGH! I'm never gonna be a good fan!

  • rin and len are twins, miku isn't related to any of them in a brother sister way, and from a few songs from kaito, he likes meiko, but always ends out getting beaten to a pulp by her ^_^;

i know, it took a while for me to get it, too. these are just the most famous. but try not to get fanmade vocaloids mixed up with the real ones! ^_^

  • Wait, Gackt was created before January 04 right? Isn't he an official vocaloid?

  • Gakupo is an official vocaloid but the release date of the vocaloid software Gackpoid is July 31, 2008. His existence was revealed on April 1, 2008. (I guess it was on purpose that the news looked like an April Fool's joke.)

By the way, "Gaket" is not a vocaloid but a real singer's name whose voices and way of singing were digitalized and put into the database of Gakupo.

  • Isn't it Gackt, not Gaket? (Lucky Gackt; he'll get to keep releasing new songs forever, even after he dies.)

  • Opps. You're right. He is Gackt. Thank you.

  • Officially, it is unrelated between them. The relation between them is what the fan made everything without permission.

Even the relation between Rin and Len is not officially twins.

Because Rin and Len are in one product of vocaloid, and the family name and the official age setting are the same, it's just acknowledged to the fan as twins.

Therefore, we fans can freely conceive the relation between them. Brothers & sisters, lovers, friends, parents & children, roommates, and so on.

  • OOOoooh. Thanks! ^_^

  • Er, I read somewhere that Meiko and Kaito are siblings. o__O

    vocaloid.wikia.[com]/wiki/Meiko

  • As Vocaloid1 product sold by the same company, Vocaloid Meiko and Vocaloid Kaito are sibling products. However, as a mascot character there is no relation decided officially.

The relationship between them is all fanmade.

  • Lame you're true, I worship KaiMei ;A;

  • Feel relieved. We can imagine their relations freely just because there are not "relations decided officially ".

  • i want miku and rin and len!

  • i just wanted to list stuff they like

    Miku: Leeks

Rin: Oranges, Roadrollers, abusing Len xD

    Len: Bananas, Rin's roadroller ^.^

    Kaito: ice cream

Meiko: hot drinks (tea, coffee, etc.),abusing kaito

    Gackpoid: EGGPLANT! xD

  • Meiko likes alcohol rather than hot drinks. XD

Almost all the drinks that Meiko is drinking in many videos are alcohol.

  • actually, alcohol is Haku.

  • Yes, Haku likes alcohol. And Meiko does, too.

    Meikoが酒好きなキャラクターとして描かれるのは、もっぱらネタ動画中なのですが、ボーカロイド作品のメインストリームであるニコニコ動画では、酒好きMeikoとして、すっかり定着しているようです。

    For example;

    watch?v=t3Hh1tcwbBc

    watch?v=Nil9ClUfrGU

    watch?v=P0FAuDtFJ6A (酒の一升瓶でナス馬を殴るMeiko)

  • meiko is maii fav. <33

    and len and kaito

    lol

  • I love Kaito's voice so much...

  • No.

They're all brothers and sisters OR they're roomates and Rin and Len are the only ones really related.

  • nooo. rin was created by len, but she had no feelings, over time len died, and rin got feelings. all her memories came back to her, like real. but then she died too. its sad.

  • Ummm... that's just the story of the song "Kokoro". There is no official relationship between them, but I like the one portrayed in "Aku no Musume" ( Daughter of Evil),"Aku no Mesitsukai" ( Servant of Evil) and "Regret Message". Now THAT is TRULY sad.

  • aww crap.

    sorry bout that then ^^''

  • OMG! is there an anime where they are from?! i have to knoe! and if there is wats the name?! i love this!

  • They're vocaloids. x3 The Japanese are very into their anime, so they made anime characters for them, but there aren't any actually shows for them. They're just voices.

  • it isnt an anime :( sadly.

its just a program called vocaloid.

wish it was an anime tho. :C

  • Don't give up hope just yet! There's a manga already and a PSP game of Miku by SEGA that's going too be released soon! Also, her leek is rumored to be a weapon in the next Phantasy Star Online, and Miku has a cameo in "sayonara zetsubou sensei". So with all that, there might very well be an anime in a few years. I just hope that her popularity can keep growing like it has until then!

  • But then noobs will recognise Miku as an anime/game character, and not a synthesis software doll. Lost history and i'm gonna so pissed if anyone mentioned Miku's originally from a game/anime

  • hehe ur actulleh right, theyll think thet no thah story, "it was originally an anime" and ill be like NOOOOO~.

  • ooh sounds so carazy!!

i want it so bad :C

    lol. i want ittt.

  • ..Oh my gosh....I'm not gonna say anything..

  • uh i just found all this vocaloid stuff a couple days ago could someone please explain about these characters and everything?

  • they are a computer program in japanese theres an english one too. Its where you use there voices to make songs and stuff.

  • No matter how hard I try I can't find exact 'personalities' of them. (Other then the foods they like. XD) And it's killing me. I love them all, but I wanna know how some people know so much about them. DX

  • Perfection<3

  • Is Len a guy?

  • Yes.

  • Yes, he is.

Sicne Len and Rin's voice actors are the same woman, you can say they are kinda identical twins and Len is a girl (at least it's theoretically possible). But Len's singing data was designed on the assumption that he was a low teen boy whose voice hadn't quite broken. I guess the voice actor sang in a slightly growling voice when she acted as Len.

  • Do you know exactly how old Len is? Birthday? Height!?

    I MUST KNOOOOW!!!

  • Name: Len KAGAMINE

    Age: 14

    Birthday: Unknown

    Height: 156cm (5ft 2in)

    Weight: 47kg (104lb)

He is a bit smaller and lighter than average Japanese boys of his age (but not very much).

  • kawaii des ne x3

  • it's "desu"

  • ahh. i see. someone told me desu, means that your saying it about yourself...

    But thanks for telling me^^

  • sooo kawaii T^T They have beautiful voices...

  • This is awesome!

  • this has to be my fav vocaloid song

  • Nice harmonics

  • where can you download the Vocaloid program? i REALLY want it x3x

  • You would have to steal it.

  • where and how?

  • Why would we tell you how to break the law? lol

It is possible to buy it somewhere.

    maybe ebay?

It might be hard if you don't understand japanese.

  • i am japanese XD

  • f-failed vocoloid :(

  • Since Haku is a fan-made character, there is no offical story about her. As far as I know, Haku was not a vocaloid program but a kind of representation or depiction of some vocaloid users, who suffered from self-doubt. (something like "Can I really become a skilled vocaloid user? They say my songs are bored and I know they're right. *sigh*")

That's why she often seems depressed.

  • By the way, honestly I have to add one thing here. Even though Haku is a personification of vocaloid users, I'm sure most of them (include me) are not as cute as she is :)

  • D:

Is this Haku Vocaliod singing? I ike it, it sounds sad but lovely.

    :3

Can ou send me some Haku Vocaliod stuff?

    <3

  • Haku isn't a real vocaloid, she's fan made. When people try to make a Hatsune Miku song, but it ends up sounding really bad, they will say that Haku did it.

  • :P

    So, she still kicks but.

    xD :3

  • I hate it that everyone says Haku can't sing! I'm not saying you did but it just makes me mad when everyone's being so mean to her. I love her voice.

  • No Haku in this one. Miku, Kaito, Meiko, Rin and Len.

  • haku isn't an official vocaloid ^^; she is fan made

  • theres no one named haku

  • Yup yup, as is Akita Neru, but both of those Fan-Vocaloids, along with others like Zatsune Miku and Juon Kiku use Hatsune Miku's voice bank. Like Haku's uses an off-key Miku and Neru is known to be Miku's voice bank just one octave up from Miku's known range.

  • So there are officially 5 of them?

Well I luv Meiko's voice and Rin's voice

  • A new Japanese male vocaloid2 named KAMUI Gakupo (a.k.a Gakuppoido), whose voices are deeper than the others, debuted about two months ago. You can hear his songs on Youtube. Search for "Gakupo."

(I bought the software a few weeks ago but not installed it yet because I got a job transfer and currently have no time to make a song. But things are getting better and smoother. I'll try Gakupo soon.)

  • miku, rin and len are my fav vocoloid!!! buuut where iz haku?!?!?! they for got haku!!! =W=

  • nope. shes a parody character/failed program/ not really a vocaloid.

    yup. same with neru

  • Okey, so, I'm American, never been to Japan, can't read Japanese, don't know anyone who can; how do I buy Miku's software???

  • from amazon? :D

  • Haha, okeyyy

Does Amazon have her instructions in English, too?

  • i think it has

  • Thank you =)

  • vocaloid is a japanese sound syntetisator.

you can input lyrics, and they will sing that.

there are different versions (different voices).

you can hear all of them in this video xD

  • the vocaloid is not only sing a japanese lyric, it can also sing the english. Yamaha has give the licence to 2 vocal library developer. Crypton is vocal library developer for japanese voice, thus Meiko, Keiko, and the other are released by this team. And Zero-G is vocal library developer for the english one, they released Leon for the male and Lola for the female englsih virtual singer.Vocaloid can also sing another language, by manipulating word library and phoneme the way word is pronounciating

  • yeah, but the program is japanese xD

And there is sweet ann, too, she sings in english

  • @_@ dun understand a thing!can any1 tell me wats vocaloid?

  • so all these people are from a sound program?.... well there goes my hopes for an anime... i only saw pictures of these guy and never saw the anime so i thought it might be an anime...

  • yeahh... is a sofware for music to install in the computer, it shows the lyrics and the character sing it.. ^^ its so cool but I dont have it, I want it but.. - - well they dont have an anime serie.. but in japan this littles characters are like idols.. XD

  • How much do vocaloids cost each?

  • About 175 US dollars. T_T

  • I bought the software packages from Amazon(JP). Each of them costs about $120-$130. Rin and Len are in a same package.

  • They all sound great together!!!

  • they forget haku!

  • Maybe you know this, but Yowane Haku is not a vocaloid but a vocaloid-master who has little self-confidence as an artist.

  • its so sweet........

  • uff...they are sounding too much computerlike óo"

    but nice oo

  • thats becuz it is a computer thats what vocaloid is

  • but sometimes you can get them to sound human, its awesome when it gets that far

  • I love Meiko's voice, but Miku's sounds the clearest. <3

  • Uh-oh... I can't tell which one or more of the 5 singers sing(s) each part of the song so will you please make a better video than this... a video that points at the singer(s)

who is or are singing the current part?

  • Actually, just look at the color of the lyrics. Blue for Kaito, Green for Miku, etc.

  • Right.

  • blue-kaito

    2nd Voice- Len yellow

    3rd voice- Rin Yellow

    4th Voice- Miku Green

    5th Voice- Meiko Pink

    6th Voice- Meiko

    Black- Everyone

  • Will some one please tell me the name of the anime series that they're from

    Thanks

  • It's not an anime series.

    It's a program called Vocaloid. ^.^;

  • O_o Meiko sounds like kermit the frog...

  • Meiko is generally assumed to be a power singer.

But, you know, "being red" does not mean she cannot sing a love song in a mellow tune :)

  • It's not easy being red.

  • Im just wondering can you tell the difference between Len & Rin?

  • Len has a lower pitch than Rin

  • How about this?

    (Youtube's URL)/watch?v=bjjJ_DZJ_3o

Len sings the first part of the song. The second is Rin's part.

  • sorry to say this but Kaito sounds like a gay...sorry sorry...X<

  • No problem. I guess I know what you meant. Maybe his voice sounds a bit too cute and mellow. This is a girl's love song and the original VSQ (Vocaloid Sequence) file was tailored to control Miku's way of singing. (I edited it manually for each vocaloid but I spent shorter time to direct Kaito because, at that time, my most difficult question was how to control Rin and Len.)

  • thanks for not being mad at me...X3

    and you are right.....good job....X3

  • man i wanna see what sweet anne anime form is too all i ever find are her songs and not her pics...

  • I want to see it too!!

  • someone made Miku and Anne do a duet for a song called lividus. You'll find her pic there

  • It's not from any anime; they're just characters to go with the voices. This is a voice simulation program.

  • Aww. Cute!
