Great video. I liked the waves at the end and the finished Prometheus particularly. Your opening comment about laziness is particularly well-made, IMO. Yes, you can do planetary explosions with plugins and whatnot, but to create a detailed scene that holds a viewer's interest takes work.
By the way, I loved the rotating power module (I'm guessing that's what it was) on the Prometheus. Nice touch.
Nice job. I'm trying to texture a spaceship of my own, and I'm attempting to go for that "dark, semi-reflected detailed metal" look on your texture maps, while having the glowing windows. Do you think you could help point me in the right direction/link me tutorials for doing spaceship textures?
Hi Enigwolf. First of all, thanks for your comment :). Anyway, for your issue. I am afraid I can't point you to any specific tutorials for making spaceship textures. What I watched was few standart texture creating tutorials but thats all.But of course, if you want more detailed informations, just contact me via PM or email. I will write you back for sure but here is not enough space to tell you evertything. Also, I am not sure what problems you are facing...so :)
there are multiple ways to create terrain like this but actually one in my video was demo file/tutorial from dreamscape plugin. Actally, dreamscape is very easy to use.. so..
target spot light is cone of light..not 360 degrees light.. but you can easily replace target spot with omni and you can achive same effect except omni is 360 degrees light.
Not sure what you are asking.. But long story short ... the Sun is actually standart target spot light with few lens effects which made it "glowing and shining" .. Basically.. I put one standart target spot light far away from planets and via lens effects in atmospheres & effects tab make this light looks like a sun :)
Hi, flames were made with fumefx plugin. It's pretty simple. You can find tons of fumefx flames and tutorials over youtube ;) But if you are looking for specific flame, just ask. I may provide more specific informations about settings I used for it.
I liked the planets and their atmospheres, looked kind of right.
