Do you see this?? Nearly 8000 views and not a single dislike. Do you know why?? Because Robin Pecknold along with the rest of Fleet Foxes have changed not only the world of music but the world itself. I will remain a Fleet Foxes fan long after I have lived. This, my friends, is music. Real music. The way it all should be.
@thenightoul I don't speak for all guitarists, but i've noticed a lot of 'unorthodox' methods especially among finger-pickers and folk musicians. For singer/guitarists, in my opinion whatever works best for them is totally legit. Anchoring your fingers like this helps with consistency, esp with songs where the vocal melody and the instrument are timed slightly apart.
@TheHillBrother Yes I agree with you. What is strange to me is that this song is not that hard at least it doesnt seem hard to me and it can be quite easily played without anchoring. Another thing is that this way of playing makes Robin play all the string just with his index but whatever, he's the man not me. :)))
@thenightoul I'm pretty sure he uses thumb and two fingers in the bridge. Otherwise he would have no reason to change the fingering of the G bass note to his thumb.
I think the "NOOOlonger" busted my speakers.

to guitarists: at 0:10 you can see that he's anchoring three fingers don't you think it's quite unusual?
