Tonic. A favorite band of mine. Thier music filled my ears with sound that just made me feel the rock & roll of life. Unique band...sadly they hit hard & ran away. Know the lead has gone solo...but again I have always felt the same sould isn't within once the band disbands. Great music for thier legacy.
@1961mrwill They are still together. I saw them live over the summer and they were fantastic! Emerson did do a solo album but is still very much a part of Tonic.
Tonic released entire albums. Not just a 10-12 track album with one to two good songs. When you listen to their music you want to listen to the whole album.
When I was in tech school in the military this CD got me through the nights when I missed all my friends, my girl, and my family. I would throw the headphones on and listen all night.
This album was incredible. I personally feel it told a general story of loss, redemption, joy, confusion, and awesome solos, but in no particular order.
Who is the loser that gave this song a thumbs down ? That person should blow there brains out immediatley and do the world some justice. May you smoke a turd in hell you pathetic piece of shit !
I still have it. Wouldn't give it up for a million dollars. GORGEOUS album! Inspired me to write a book :O So many good memories attached, and from a time when music was still made for the sake of ART, not the dollar!
@les82paul Oh a steampunk-like world with a female character who is captain of a ship and is essentially the possessor of the spirit that Harvests and consumes the impure souls of her world. O.o Don't ask me how I got that out of this album. It's a long story haha!
to follow the theme of my previous postings on the songs of this album... just absolutely amazing how deep, thoughtful, and soulful the songs are!!! Sometimes, the one we love isn't able to feel that love... Sometimes, the one we love, a friend, is with the wrong person, and their is absolutely nothing we can do to change it... Sometimes, the love we have for someone must be strong enough to endure the act of letting go, for THEIR sake... True love is selfless...
This song takes me back to 1997. I tried but could not control the sea...she had to be free. I'm still washing the decks and carrying those pails...hoping I get another chance. Apart from Live, Tonic's lyrics spoke to me more than any other. Great band!!
I think this song encompasses a lot more than just sadness. There's a bigger vision here. What is simply sad is how can a band that writes words and music as beautiful as in this whole album and THEN follow up with a different but also great album just sort of fade away with so little fanfare? Highly and undeservedly underrated band. whew

First llistening..the tones, the tune, the changes, the spaces, the starts, holds and stops.
Tunefully pleasant turns powerful.
Next time around, I will listen to the words.
..hard to separate them...but I like to really zero in on words later. Wonderful music writing.and phrasing. Will listen more and more.
