  • @iRouRoui Yes... The little router that you have in your home may be running a really small Linux distribution named BusyBox that makes everything possible. OpenWRT ((the distribution that he uses) use Busybox. Everything in less that 4 MB of memory and 32 MB of RAM.

    Anything below 256 is unlistenable...and even that is about FM radio quality at best.

  • Good info! Audio quality is limited by USB vs S/PDIF or other digital connections. The USB "soundcard" will be important, a cheap one will pretty much limit you to a mediocre sound quality. Many USB DACs are limited to 16 bits / 48 kHz max. Do not confuse (USB 1,2 or 3) and the USB audio standard (1 or 2). USB Audio Class 1 (1998) allows for 24 bits / 96 kHz max. Windows does not natively support USB audio class 2. 3rd party USB class 2 driver on Windows is req. Search: "intro computer audio"

  • Not really wireless because you have to keep this plugged in with ethernet and you don't get a interface directly on the radio. I have seen something better and is cheaper, and sell on ebay for less than 15 that is wireless and requires no ethernet cable. Its called a wireless music bridge, basically what you made a video of here, brand is linksys wmb54g if anybody is looking for wireless printer and don't want to pay the money linksys sales a wireless print server wpsm54g.

I don make gadgets and electronics for a living, so I find it fun to wake up, do a little bit, then watch TV, then the next day, do a little bit more until it's complete. I'm not going to take on 10 projects in one week.

  • I did it easily, I had my laptop connected to the stereo with a very cheap HD cable. On my PC I installed iTunes and on my iPod Touch and the remote application. If I let you play music on my iPod comes from my stereo

  • @nubbin The USB sound card that is shown in the video is most likely the problem(if you followed all other steps correctly). I got a plantronics usb sound card and it works perfectly.

  • Better Idea. Cost will be nill if you have a router of any type and an ipod. Download the App for pandora and then hook up your ipod touch to your auxillary in your stereo DONE.. Cost. zip, damage to router or computer nada and not screwing up your router settings..priceless
