I agree with Emma; Anne has very little to do with this video. She is shown only once! As for Anne's conduct, not that it really matters here, she was (most likely) being bullied by a highly ambitious father. She was ambitious and intelligent herself, and had enough pride not to end up like her sister. She did not FORCE Henry to do anything. If anyone is to blame here, it's Henry. Anne could have been kinder to Mary, but in the end she was doing what KoA tried to do--protect her own child.

i have to say, KOA is my fave queen. i like Anne, but i really can't back anyone committing adultery, or willingly having a hand in pushing aside a loving wife and mother who done nothing wrong. yall cant tell me that in the same modern day scenario, you wouldn't totally kick anne and henry's butts for that one;) they'd bith deserve it.

The video does not make ANY claims about the morality of Henry or Anne Boleyn, its about what KOA felt according to the way she was portrayed in the Tudors. Disagree with me all you want, but just so you know I resent my video becoming my forum for such a discussion. Firstly, A.B wasn't really Henry's mistress and so you can't draw parralels with modern men who just cheat on their wives. Anne was playing for higher stakes.

@racerxcess KoA was raised to be queen since she was young (betrothed at three, I think) and it showed all through her life. She must have been a magnificent force to contend with. Even Anne told Henry to never get into an argument with Katherine because he would always lose.

Yes, I am late. Lol. But your vid is beautiful. Although I'm not very fond of the music, the song fits to the KoA nd Henrt's story. The quality is beautiful. I read some comments here. And I am agree. Anne is my favorite Queen all among Henry's wives However, by her intelligence, her devotion, her strength, I have a deep admiration for her. She wanted to fight so hard to preserve her mariage and struggle for she believed right and just. MDK played a excellent performance in the Tudors.

And I can not but agree with your comment. I dislike the way the show described the wearing of Anne when KoA died, like she was the horrible b**** who rejoiced because she was the only queen now. Sometimes, although I absolutely love Natalie's performance, it cringes me to see a few scenes.

Ermm...Anne is my fav queen consort, of well, all time. However, I do think she, as anyone is, was flawed. The fact is she did wear yellow on the day of COA's funeral - which is rather suggestive of joy.

He was the one to put an end to his marriage to KoA cause he wanted to. And when he noticed Anne, she was engaged, as we know. Anne Boleyn was ambitious but she was not this woman without scruples to destroy everything and everyone she met. When a royal person decided to take you as his wife at that time, the other person had no choice to accept. Otherwise, it might be retaliations and drawback to herself or to her family. Anne was also pushed by her family to please the King.

Anne played a game of seduction with Henry, she refused to be his mistress, she played for higher and higher stakes and seemingly cared not about the people she displaced (COA/Mary).

History tells us nothing, you choose to interpret the facts as we know them as Boleyn mistreasting Mary, I disagree, and I disagree the she bears the greatest part of the responsibility for what Mary suffered. And yes, I think Mary ought to have been a little more diplomatic in her dealings with her father, and also, though to a lesser extent with the Boleyns.

That's a slight contradiction. I don't she was a witch, or devil woman, nor do I seek to malign her in ANY way, but I think that the fact of the matter, which is accepted pretty widely, is that she did seduce the king in order to become queen. There's the romantic argument, which could be valid, that she loved Henry, but nevertheless she still seduced him with an end to marry him - which would make her queen.

You know I had always read about Henry donning yellow celebrating Kat's death, but I just recently read that he may have wept heavily upon recieving Kat's letter.

Maybe one day someone will do a movie or show that portrays all of there relationship, instead of just the end.

Thank you! I completely agree - I know it was kind of logistically difficult do it on the tudors, but it is a story that is so rarely told, and really should be.

I have heard about both things (wearing yellow and weeping, Starkey's Six Wives is quite good on it) - I think he really loved Catherine, I think he really loved all his wives, Anne of Cleves being a different case.

Wearing yellow was a public and political gesture - weeping was what he actually felt.

I know...there are bits that fitted in so well with Catherine/Henry. But other bits were so hard like apple trees/christmas trees and the 'we used to love' because the Tudors doesn't start until much later in their relationship. But I did try. Thanks so much for the comment :)

I know! I think they were totally amazing at portraying the decline of Cat/Henry's relationship and how deeply they cared for eachother. You really felt it. I wish the Tudors had started earlier in their relationship though. So we could see the rise and fall thing like we did with Anne B.

JRM was bang on the right age for season 1, Maria DK was too old and so was Natalie Dormer. But Maria DK plays Catherine really, really well, I think...plus I find her really beautiful. So I am happy with the casting :) Btw I am SO glad you liked the Jane Grey thing, thanks for listening :)

Very few is shown in movies about the start of the marriages when Catherine learnt to turn a blind eye to Henry infidelities. When Catherine knew in 1510 about Lady Elizabeth FitzWalter, Henry's love at the moment, the Queen shattered and reproached Henry. Spanish Ambassador Caroz feared that Catherine might spoil her influence over Henry and wisely adviced her. The intelligent Catherine never more reproached her husband.
