  • this might happen to me but in the main room in my basement cause all of the plumbing is messed up and the water from outside is leaking in and above that floor is the kitchen sink and dishwasher so i might have a collapsed ceiling too :S

  • this just happened to us yesterday morning - hope all is well!

  • Wow! So sorry to hear it! Best wishes with the cleanup.

Did it fall on anyone? No one is hurt I hope!

  • I got up the one morning and found the garage ceiling had fallen on my bike.

Contractors used double 5/8" rock and held it up with nails! I am now going over it with screws.

  • I know it's too late to say this, but you should have turned your computer off.

  • Thanks for the concern. I thought of that too when it happened, but everything happened very fast and I was in shock - physically and emotionally. Someone metioned the same thing before and I'll repeat... this video was taken minutes after the collapse. I couldn't even trudge my way over to the computer. Maintenance came and cleaned up within a half hour and the computer was turned off quickly.

    Thanks

  • thats scary i worry about my celling my bedroom in the attic how did u do dat

  • good 2 know u made it out okay

  • Thank you! :)

  • I am glad that you are okay. He should have taken 200.00 off your rent for the month.

  • Thanks. I had to fight to get anything from them, but in the end there was a reasonable settlement and I decided to leave there as I did not care for the way the management company handled the situation.

  • did you even think about turning your computer off ?? something about a fire hazard mmmmmm

  • This video was taken minutes after the collapse and maintenance cleaned everything out within a half hour, when the computer was disconnected as well. The room was never unattended until it was empty.

  • mould. you sould be careful of it. must of been somthing to do with a leaking.

  • Fortunately there was no mold. Nothing was wet either. A building contractor told me that when they built the structure, they used nails instead of screws to set the drywall, the insulation was too thick and blocked the ventillation, so moisture from the dryer was not escaping properly creating expansion and shrinking with the humidity. Over time it just gave in.... unfortunately on me! I'm glad it's in the past.

  • Glad you made it out of there. :D
