  • "aaaand as ever!.."

  • what an awful bollox...

  • "A conflict of interest (COI) occurs when an individual or organization is involved in multiple interests, one of which could possibly corrupt the motivation for an act in the other"

  • Id'love to post a comment, but the description says "don't be rude". ^^

  • Someone on a blog was fantasizing who would play who in the film version of Osler's Web, and I nominated good ole Simon be played by Carrot Top.

  • Oh my goodness - please don't let this arrogant man's faulty and self-serving views about ME become widely accepted. Is having this awful illness not enough - do we have to be insulted and treated as though we're all crazy, lazy burdens on society aswell? What kind of world are we living in when it's ok to persecute people for having a disease???

  • In an article in the New Scientist entitled US in U-turn over Gulf War Syndrome dated 3 November 2004, The New Scientist reported, “Wessely favours psychological explanations for Gulf war illnesses. The only thing that could have affected so many different people, he says, was stress, especially anxiety about chemical weapons, misinformation about Gulf war syndrome afterwards, and the many vaccinations Gulf troops received." Wessely is a consultant to the Ministry of Defence, UK.

  • @andiewize AND to the NHS and DWP - rather worrying, isn't it?

  • What complete CU#T! I hope he becomes infected with XMRV & developes ME

  • Why don't I recover just by hearing the tone of his lovely voice?

It's all in the mind, after all...

    Simon is a twit.

  • Super video, well done.

  • I just don't like the sound of his voice.

  • Oh he's a genius! Just a fricken jayneeous...zzzzzzzzzzz

  • 'science plays such a large role in these debates'

Oh Really Wessely ? Since when did science and yourself become such good friends ? You have been strangers since the mid 80's.

Kind regards, Quilp ( aka XMRV )

  • Thank you for showing the USA what goes on in the UK. I am just beyond belief. Good thing we have one another.

    Highest Personal Regards, Dr M

  • He's largely responsible for helping to mislead you...as well as Britain and every other country that doesn't take this evil condition seriously.

  • Good thing he can not mislead me, because I have excellent credentials and am a patient, too. Thank God for people like you who are on the other side of the Pond....without you, we in the USA would not know just how devastating this illness can be to the UK. God Bless You All as we hold you in our prayers.

    Highest Personal Regards,

    Margaret

  • I'm not sure if you mistook me as the author?..

But sure, how do you do! :)

  • Simon sez, "Quite often people's knowledge of science isn't as good as it should be." Never have truer words been spoken. Merry XMVRmas Simon, and a Happy Clappy New Year.

  • Nooohhh don't give the bugge a field day!

WE know XMRV isn't the cause of M.E. right??

The yanks have done us again by bringing out this bullshit in a sensationalit way, another way in which M.E. is not taken seriously by the medical profession.

  • oh an yes- please don't be rude. Constructive criticisms only please.
