Taking a Look at the Nintendo DSi XL

Hey Tvandlust!

Im looking to buy a DSi XL or a DSi with a game included.

I am not going to use device all over, but carrying in a bagpack, so space is no issue.

Would you prefer the DSi XL, despite the screen is the same resolution as the DSi?

ok so i have an issue! pokemon white/black bundle pack is 179.99 and comes with a limited edition dsi + pokemon white/black and a carrying case. BUT!!!! my toys R us is having a deal 149.99 for dsiXL but you must buy a game over 20$ which would be pokemon black/white 34.99 i calculated how much everything would be with TAX and the dsiXL+game = 212.74 compared to pokemon bundle 206.98 i know its only 6$ more for a XL but i think the XL is kinda too big. its supposed to be portable,XL brainage...

I currently have a DS Lite and ive enjoyed playing it but I was thinking of buying a new console. I looked at the 3DS in a shop and I thought it was diabolical to be honest. I was thinking of getting a DSi but then I saw this for DSi XL and I like what I see :) I love the curves on the corners and the colour looks so classy :3 But I wish I could find a white one :( lol

there is a way for moveing dsi ware games from the dsi to the dsi xl all you need is a sd card then you go to system settings and there will be a date managment settings and you go up to your dsi ware game and tap it will say copy press copy and there you go hope that helped

@thegamefreakiso Yes, that will copy your data to an SD card. Then what? You ever actually pop that SD card into another DSi? Because nothing happens. People watch this video for information on the DSi/DSi XL. I give them that information so that they can make informed purchasing decisions. Inaccurate comments like this do not help.

As of right now, games CANNOT be copies from DSi machine to another. It will NOT work. Period.

I have a nintendo DSi. Personally in my opinion, if someone already owns the DSi, I don't see the need to get the DSi XL. From what I've seen there isn't much of a difference between the two except for the size. So, if you've got the DSi, stick with that. If you have neither, get the DSi XL.

@ChoasParadox well,if you like cameras and dsi WI-FI connectivity,and no smudges cuz its kinda lik matt,then yes you should ^^ personally id get the xl (if u have big hands) but if u to play games wherever,i say the dsi,if u have trouble hearing. the XL cuz the speakers are 10x better on xl. they improved highly

@TheNavachannel I am getting one soon as well. The DSi XL has exactly the same cartritge slot as every other ds. so your games will work on it! By the way what colour are you getting? Because i am really debating with myself about which colour to get, its either Yellow or Green for me...

@TheNavachannel yes, you can play all the previus ds games on it, even the ones from the launch of the ds. its not a new system, just an upgrade :) so yes you can play all your ds and dsi games on it. hope that helps you!

Dude I got the Mario Red DSi XL and it totally rocks!!! I have a lite(i dont own a regular DSi) and I always compare them two and I cant belive I've been playing all my games on that little screen.... Im shocked. This is like the best one Ive ever owned(ive only owned 2 a coral pink DS lite, a Metallic Rose DS lite and a Mario Red DSi XL)!!!

I've been reviewing this system and i think it goes best with the technoligy

@citylightslikefire The audio player actually only handles AAC, as MP3 requires licensing, and I suppose Nintendo didn't want to pay the fee. I've never used it, personally. The camera is fun to mess around with (quite fun, actually, I didn't expect to like it as much as I do), but it's in no way a replacement for a real camera, or in many cases, even a camera phone. It's fairly low quality. Hope that helps.

I think I'm the only one with the ORIGINAL (not Lite) DS... i feel lonely..., but thats why im upgrading. Not a GREAT difference, since many got the Lite one, and I dont have problems with DSiWare, cause I don´t have a DSi.

@galactamarx The original is still pretty damn good. As i've heard, its battery is better than the DS Lite,and the hinge don't break or it rarely breaks. Plus, it also has a SLOT 2 ^_^

I personally have a DS Lite...and my hinge broke a couple of weeks ago...

@Bajamamut In fact it is. The battery life is longer, I dont have problems with the hinge. I'm upgrading because I have too much time with it and the lower screen is scratched, so I can only see the screen in dark places. Another reason is r¡that I lost all Stylus I had and they dont sell them anymore. Also, because of the new functions the DSI has.

What's interesting is that you can have a game pack in each of your 3 systems and play them without having to swap them out.

I read it is heavier than the original Nintendo DS.

Just don't drop it when you are playing it while taking a dump.
