  • I love Low carb, I have lost 25 pounds in a month and a half.

  • I love Low carb, I have lost 25 pounds in a month and a half.

  • thank yall for this- i'm trying to educate others too, they ask what I'm doing and can't believe the things i eat. i stock up on butter and it feels awesome

  • Bacon to start?

Consumption of pig lard (OR = 6.32) and fatty red meat (OR = 3.48) were found to be associated with increased risk of breast cancer. Nutr Hosp. 2007 Sep-Oct;22(5):565-72.

Significantly increased diabetes risk appeared to be most pronounced for frequent consumption of total processed meat and two major subtypes, which were bacon and hot dogs. Diabetes Care. 2004 Sep;27(9):2108-15.

    And butter??

  • P. W Siri-Tarino, Q. Sun, F. B Hu, and R. M Krauss

Meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies evaluating the association of saturated fat with cardiovascular disease Am. J. Clinical Nutrition, March 1, 2010; 91(3): 535 - 546.

    Saturated fat: NOT GUILTY!

  • So pig meat contributes to diabetes and cancer and you celebrate butter is "not guilty' of heart disease according to a selected article?

Ann Nutr Metab. 2009;54 Suppl 1:33-8.

reduce intake of saturated fat and replace with unsaturated fat. This has been associated with improved quality of dietary fat and remarkable reduction in cholesterol. It has led to 80% reduction in CVD among working aged population, a major increase in life expectancy and improvements in functional capacity and health.

  • Read this from one of the world's most renowned nutritional health researchers on the subject of saturated fat:

The case for not restricting saturated fat on a low carbohydrate diet Nutr Metab (Lond). 2005; 2: 21. Jeff S Volek and Cassandra E Forsythe

This same study author (Dr. Jeff Volek from UConn) also found dietary sat fat LOWER blood lipids:

Comparison of low fat and low carbohydrate diets on circulating fatty acid composition and markers of inflammation. Lipids. 2008 Jan;43(1):65-77.

  • nice videos..

    You both look very healthy!

  • THANKS for watching! :D

  • Are chocoperfection chocolate bars allowed on induction?

  • Technically, no, but if a bite or two keeps you eating a healthy low-carb lifestyle the rest of the week, then GO FOR IT!

  • you are a cute and attractive couple. So sweet to each other.

  • When we wanna be. LOL! Just kidding, God brought us together so I guess we should enjoy it, right? :)

  • I think ill try a low carb no sugar shake!Which would u suggest?Powder form and already mixed?

  • There are some good ones from EAS that are low in sugar/carbs. Definitely avoid the ones with double-digit sugar counts and there are a BUNCH of them.

  • This was a great episode Jimmy. You are right about gaging the amount of carbs one can eat before one gains weight. You truly have to research your body and metabolism.

  • THANKS for watching, Lenny!

  • LOL you guys crack me up

  • Happy to keep you entertained. :D

  • Great info@

  • hey man, just started atkins about a week ago. I'm digging it. Thanks for doing this video. I learned a few new foods that are ok to have :) I just ordered the atkins book too :)

  • AWESOME!!! Let me know how you are doing. :D

  • Is the protein shake induction friendly? If it is, where did you get it from?? Thanks!! I really love your videos!! They help so much. And they are funny too.

  • THANKS for writing! Protein shakes can be an excellent meal for Induction. Be sure to stick with low-carb ones such as the ready-to-drink Atkins shakes or EAS Carb Control protein powder. We appreciate your feedback and encourage you to keep watching!

  • Man im doing very low carb and i feel very confused and tired, does this go away ive been low carbing for two weeks.

  • It could take as little as two weeks to a month or so, but it does subside. Just stick with it if you are losing weight. :D

  • I am losing weight, thanks for the reply i just hope i can get my energy levels back up soon.

    Good show very informative.

  • It sounds ironic, but try adding a little exercise and watch your energy soar. :)

  • Thanks a lot.

  • My pleasure! Lemme know how I can help.

  • Drinking a lot of water really makes a difference for me! I tried this a few years ago (with much success) but the first few weeks were horrible, but it turns out, I wasn't drinking enough water.

  • It's amazing how much better you feel when you drink enough water.

  • Hi - just started low carbing. You mention tortillas, do you use flour tortillas or corn - I assumed they would be a no-no :)

  • Hey there and thanks for your comment. Right, those flour and corn-based tortillas are off limits. I'm referring to the La Tortilla Factory wraps (available from CarbSmart) and they only have 3g net carbs. And they taste GREAT, too, with 8g fiber. WOO HOO! Keep watching our videos for more great ideas about low-carb living. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

  • Hi, Jimmy! You look fantastic.

  • THANKS Madonna! :)

  • Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise . It is a salad dressing. It also isn't carb free like Kraft Mayo and Helman's Mayo is. :)

You know what is good? A hamburger patty with cottage cheese and banana peppers. Simple, very low carb, and the flavors just blend well together. Oh I forgot. Fry it with a little worcester sauce.

  • YUMMY!!! I like Dukes Mayo, too! :D

  • I've never heard of that one.

  • It's a Southern thing. :D SC specifically. VERY low-carb!

  • Mmmmmmmm.....Bacon!

I eat a pound of bacon almost everyday! I also drizzle bacon grease on my vegetables and use it in my chili!

  • I couldn't imagine eating that much bacon in a day, but I'm glad it works for you. Drizzling the healthy bacon grease on veggies is delicious and nutritious on a carbohydrate-restricted lifestyle. :)

  • did it take u a long time to figure out your CCLM?

  • I stayed at 20g for about 3 1/2 months since I weighed 410 when I started. I slowly moved up the carb ladder and realized my carb tolerance was very low. I couldn't eat more than 35g carbs or I would stop losing. Even today I have to keep my carbs below 50g to maintain. EEEEK!

  • I'm glad you mentioned the wraps, I just started low carb to shed some pounds and I ordered some wraps from netrition. I'm also going to order your bars after I make it past a month. I agree with the Tuna, I'm glad you put that in there too, I enjoy a tuna wrap. I've listened to your podcast but am a new subscriber here on youtube.

  • Welcome to our YouTube videos and KEEP WATCHING for lots of encouragement in your low-carb lifestyle. Let me know if I can help you along in this journey.

  • thanks for sharing this

  • You're VERY welcome! :)

  • Check out splendaexposed dot com

  • That web site is funded by the Sugar Association and not reliable at all for unbiased information about Splenda.

  • The Stallone Puddin' gots a skin! GACK.

  • Yeah, it does a bit, but it's so good for you with 20g of protein!

  • I know - it's got super nutrition stats, yes....

  • YEPPERS!

  • we dont get all your yummy stuff in london

    its not fair

  • You have access to GoLower bars in the UK which are YUMMY low-carb nut bars. ENJOY!

  • I have that pudding, but I have been scared. My husband has been telling me it will be horrible. I'm gonna try it tommorrow!

  • You MUST MUST MUST eat it very cold, wgrazier. Put it in the freezer about 20 or so minutes before eating it and it will be GREAT! It's sugar-free, so perhaps your hubby is still too used to sugar. :)

  • PUDDING?!!!!! OMGosh..you just made my year..I have keys in hand...and out to find some!

I was just thinkin how my doctor would have fell out of his chair within the first 30 seconds of showing what you eat!

When will they be the ones educated?

  • ABSOLUTELY! THANKS for your comments. My doctor has a cow over what I eat too. :)

  • I always like hearing about the different products that are available. Thanks Jimmy

  • We'll be doing more of that in the future, too, Tami! :)

  • So happy you are showing us products to use. We love it...

  • Well, keep on watching and we'll show some more.

  • Thanks for another great episode! I too am very sensitive to carbs and need to keep under 30 to loose. Down 28 lbs now since 9/6. WOOOHOOOO

People can't believe I do lo carb and am not grumpy or unsatisfied. They can't believe I eat what I do and still loose weight. Today I had Dreamfields pasta with Italian sausage and they were jealous. (those cold sandwiches don't look very appetizing anyway)

    LOL

Thanks and keep up the great work!

  • THANKS MOMMY826 and CONGRATS on your success so far. Keep showing them how it's done. :D

  • you guys really motivate me.....with the holidays coming up im glad i have your videos to keep me focused!!! thank yououuou :)

  • THANKS Christa! We will! :D

  • My Hero

I am going to start using coconut oil. Is there any Jello with splenda available?

  • It's hard to find, Paul, but there are sugar-free gelatins that have Splenda in them. But you won't find them in your local grocery store. Check online and you'll find 'em! :)

  • Another great video Jimmy! I'd love to try some of the products you mentioned. I'll have to plan some internet shopping soon! :0)

  • There's a bunch of stuff out there, SparkysGirl91, so find some that work well for you! Always good to hear from you! :D

  • Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your time work and energy that you share with all of us with your blog, pod cast and now the utube videos. It's such and inspiration to see That you not only kept the weight off but that your still so excited, So keep up the great work and good luck on the baby front. I know you will both be great parents AND raise a happy child that's not addicted to carbs.

    Thanks again,

    Vikki

  • God bless you, Vikki! It's such a pleasure to do something you love and help people in the process. :D

  • Very cool! I'll look for that naturally more peanut butter at Wal-Mart perhaps? Haven't seen it at Kroger.

  • It's in a lot of stores now sweetsasami, so look around for it. I LOVE IT!!!

  • oh and I wanted to ask you if you remember when Wendy's had the "Super Bar"? When I was on Atkin's the first time, my friend and I were both on it, we used to walk to wendy's, chow down on the buffet, but what we were allowed on the diet. Anyways...the point is I miss that super bar :(

  • I love bars like that as long as you avoid the stuff you can't have.

  • oh we definitly only ate what we could have.

  • Good boy! :D

  • EGGS!! They are EGGcellent! lol

Jimmy I wanted to tell you that I just got The Atkin's New Diet Revolution, but it's an updated one. And I must say it is very interesting! I have yet to look for the other books you recommended, but I would love to have a copy of your book! How can I do that?

  • Hey Tony, my book is available from my publisher at Booklocker dot com or from Amazon. I'm currently working on a second one.

  • EGGcellent! lol thanks! I will definitly look it up! And good luck on the 2nd book!

  • THANKS, Tony! ;) Let me know what you think of it.

  • Loved it when you sang the word "Jello"! Haha.

    Keep the vids coming!!

  • Who says you can't have fun when you're losing weight and getting healthy? It's time to take the "die" out of "diet!" :D THANKS Fred!

  • Jimmy, fructose corn syrup is a BIG NO-NO! Don't you ever watch Dr Oz(YOU On A Diet)on Oprah or on Discovery Health Channel?

  • Um, yeah, I do know that myrnaw. Didn't you see my blog post this week blasting fructose? What did I recommend that has fructose in it? If you listen carefully, I said the GoLower bars have OLIGOFRUCTOSE...not fructose. Look it up! :D

  • I love sugar free jello. In fact I did a music video dedicated to the stuff. It was called "you asked for it". Like always you have gave me more freat ideas.

  • Knowing your videos with their twisted humor, Mr. Nice Guy, I'm sure it's deliriously awesome! :O Keep up the great work on your low-carb lifestyle!

  • Awesome as usual!!! Thanks for the great advice!!

    Jodi

  • Keep watching our videos, Jodi! :P

  • By the way, my biggest weakness use to be HOMEMADE cinnamon rolls and donuts. Yikes!!!!

Now I love eggs and bacon for breakfast. I never feel like I'm starving by lunch--what a novel idea :)

  • And yet that sugary sweets breakfast probably had you hungry within an hour or so of eating it. I LOVE LOW-CARB! :D

  • indeed, I would be STARVING.

    Thanks for all your work!

    -Erin (singsomuch)

  • More great advice! Thank you Jimmy&Christine!

  • THANKS Linda!

  • I can't wait to get past induction so I can have some almonds! They are my fave.

    Thanks for the tips.

  • You can have one ounce of almonds during Induction. Raw is better for you than roasted, but ENJOY! :)

  • Oh Thank you Jimmy!

I don't recall reading that in DANDR. I had it 4 years ago. I lost DANDR and all I have now is Atkins 72.

You made me happy to go to the grocery tomorrow. hee-hee! Oh, and I prefer 'em raw.

  • ENJOY! :)

  • I LOVE THE EPISODES!!! Keep them coming!!!!!

  • We appreciate your support, singssomuch! We love to sing so much too! ;)

  • Love almonds, people need to understand that they are very good for you...high in vitamins C, E, Magnesium and Calcium...it is a Great snack. Also, I feel much better doing the Low Carb Diet, have more energy...Love you both...keep 'em coming..!!!

  • THANKS tiparker119! It's amazing how simple and accessible eating a healthy low-carb diet really is. It's just good healthy food! :D

  • Hi jimmy, you have the best Low carb videos on youtube. Can't wait for more.

  • THANKS Ketogenic! I wish we could do more than one per week, but that's all the time I have right now. :D THANK YOU for your support!!!

  • I agree with almonds. I love almonds, and they are low in carbohydrates, but watch out, because sometimes you can mindlessly munch on them, and then the carbohydrates will add up!

Almonds are great, because I am always looking for a little crunch, and they are excellent - or carrot sticks. Low in calories, low in carbohydrates as well.

  • I couldn't believe how SWEET almonds are until I kicked sugar. Raw almonds are better for you than roasted and you can't eat as many of them that way either. I avoid carrot sticks when I am losing weight because the sugar in them can stall you. Again, I'm SUPER-sensitive to carbs, so I have to be careful.

  • Hey Jimmy & Christie...yall are awesome, I'm ready for another video already...lol I started low carb'n today, try'n to get hubby to do it..but he is playin hard to get! I enjoy watchin yall..keep up the good work, and congrats to Ed :) yall have a good day

  • Great Video Jimmy and Christine... :) Thanks for the tips and suggestions... if you do not mind... what did you eat during induction to stay under 20 grams?... What did you eat during the weight loss phase of your diet when you were losing most of your weight?... Thank you for your help.. thanks keep up the great work...

    Dan :)

  • THANKS Dan! I ate much of the same kinds of foods that I do now, except I cut out the ones that contained higher amounts of carbs. My carb limit is so low now that it's not that much different than in weight loss mode. Eggs, pepperoni slices, lunch meats, cheese were a mainstay in 2004 as I lost 180 pounds.

  • hey it's tony aka ShrinkingTonyG1980......I wanted to let you know I'm giving the atkin's diet another try.

  • Way to go Tony!!! You're gonna do great, my friend, just make sure you read DR. ATKINS' NEW DIET REVOLUTION to do it by the book. Eat foods you enjoy and NEVER allow yourself to get hungry. YOU CAN DO IT!!! I'm here to help you anytime.
